US Embassy and Consulate Discussionconfused
Thanks for the reply.
The US embassy instructions on the website says do not send in any documents, so I assume it means the documents I have to gather together before the interview.
It doesn't explain very well whether to send only the checklist or the checklist and all the DS forms..

This is the 157 form, it says send the DS156 and DS156k in duplicate but doesn't say if they only need one or duplicate DS157

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionconfused
These forms all get so confusing. What do I have to return to the US embassy in London... ALL the DS forms and the checklist or just the checklist?
Does 'duplicate' just mean I have to send 2 copies of all the DS forms? It doesn't say on the website that DS-156k has to be in duplicate, it just says DS-156 and 157..
It doesn't say anything about sticking the photo on the form before sending which I read some people on here talking about...
Also, not all the forms can be filled out online, is this correct, 157 had to be printed and written on... is this how it is or did I do something wrong?
So, I only send these forms and nothing else? What about the police certificate? i don't have that many other forms, only my birth certificate and the evidence stuff.
Thanks in advance.

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionsend passport photo to us embassy london?
OK, thanks, where do I get us format passport pics in the UK? No, i never received the info from the embassy it apparently got lost in the post, i called them and they gave me the london embassy weblink, but theres no mention of passport pics on there.
Also, it mentions a fee on one of the forms, ds156 I think, what fee is this? Theres no mention of this either anywhere else but on the top of the form.

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionsend passport photo to us embassy london?
When filling out the DS156 form I noticed there is a space for a passport picture.... do I have to stick one in the space or send one with the forms ?
I have read the instructions on the us embassy london site and it doesn't mention the passport picture.. it looks to be a US size photo too, maybe thats what the ones we sent with the petition are for?

Where can I get US format passport photos to send to the embassy with my DS forms?
I am in the UK and only just realised I need them as it doesn't say anything about photos on the london embassy weblink I received.
If I send UK photos will they reject them?

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussiongreen card wrong date and conditions removal notice....
Hello everyone,
I have had my green card since January 2011, but when I first got the card, it had the wrong date on it. It said it expires in January 2012. I have since sent the card back and received the new one with the correct expiry date ( January 2013 ). It took several months to get the new card and to be honest, it took me a few months before I even noticed the date was wrong! In the meantime, I received the notice to remove conditions as my previous card said it expires in January 2012.... Should I just ignore the notice, as it must have been automatically sent out because the wrong date must have been on file for me..?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCan US petitioner visit UK beneficiary after approval?
She is already in the USA, she lives there. I am the UK citizen waiting for my visa.
Thank you for your reply, it is very helpful and maybe I should start looking at getting my medical and police reports etc.. but I still would like to know if her being denied entry to the UK could affect the visa application...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCan US petitioner visit UK beneficiary after approval?
Hello everyone I am new here. I live in England UK and I am a British citizen, my fiancee is a US citizen and lives in California. We have applied for the K1 visa for me to go and marry her and live in the US. We didn't use a lawyer or anyone, I just researched it on the website ( which is the best on the web in my opinion) and we sent it off in April this year. The petition has now been approved and we are waiting for the next part.
We have known each other since Jan 2007 and I have been to visit her many time since then. My question is about her coming to visit me. She tried to come here last year but was denied entry mainly due to not having a return ticket. She wants to try again but we are both worried that if she is denied again, could it affect our visa application?
We don't think she will be denied again as we have learned a very valuable lesson but realise it could happen and both agree that we could handle the denial, but what if it messes up our visa application.
Hopefully, I will hear something from the embassy in London fairly soon, but my family have never met my fiancee and she would love to come here before I leave here. My family are coming for the wedding but they would like to meet her at least once before then.
Thanks for any help.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedurescosts
We paid 455 dollars to begin the petition for the K1, but what other costs will there be, I am in the process of filling and sending the DS forms and gathering evidence and police cert etc. How much is the actual visa? Any other processing fees to be paid to the Embassy?

also, the k1 visa is an immigrant visa correct? Just that some of the DS forms have non immigrant on them dont they...?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhen to get medical appointment
Should I get my medical appointment BEFORE I send the checklist back to the Embassy? I don't want to get my interview date until I'm sure I can get the medical done beforehand.
How long will I have to wait for the medical appointment compared to the wait until my interview after I send the checklist back?
I also want to make sure I get my police certificate before my interview.

Thanks everyone I don't know what I would do without Vj its soooooo informative.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedurestravel to us and not use K1 visa??
I have been wondering, when I get my K1 visa... can I travel to the US and not show it? I am not quite ready to leave the UK yet and would still like to go visit my fiancee... could I go and not use the visa or will they know I have one?

I last went to the us a couple of weeks ago, after I had the interview date set and the customs in the US didnt mention it, so I'm guessing they don't know I have applied for the visa, does this mean they won't know I have a visa, if i travel there and not use it?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresplease help......!
I never thought a bank account number was any good on its own... the statements I have, only have 'member number', I guess this is the account number?
It looks bad on myself now, as she doesn't know me that well and is sure to suspect its me that has took the money.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresplease help......!
So do you think it has something to do with when I took the bank statements to the US embassy? I guess it could just be a coincidence... surely nobody who works there has made a copy of the details... they only had them for a few minutes while I went and sat back down. I haven't shown them to anyone else.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresplease help......!
Hi everyone,
I have my K1 visa and will be travelling soon but I have just had a call from my fiancee in the US and she said my sponsor has had 3000 dollars taken from her bank account! I do have a sponsor as my fiancee's earnings didn't meet the requirements but I wasn't expecting any money to be taken from the sponsor! I will be taking enough funds of my own in order to survive until I can get work and was not intending to use the sponsor at all... did I do the right thing?
The sponsor is a friend of my fiancee's mother and generously helped us out, under the impression that I would not be taking any money from her, which I won't be as my fiancee and I have a place to live and I have money of my own.
All I know is that she has had 3000 dollars taken from her account and it is from the UK... could it have anything to do with the visa? I did have her bank statements to show at the interview, could someone have made a copy of these in order to steal from her?
Pleaes help, what can I do, I'd hate he to think I was stealing from her.
