Peanut butter on pancakes....my husband does that and sometimes smashes a banana on top...oh and then he pours cream or milk over top.

So I like toast with peanut butter and banana, but seriously folks...he takes it over the top with the cream/milk thing....ewwwwwwwwww

I was in the military option of Katimavik program and flew with the Air Force in an Aurora....it was fantastic and being 18, I thought the crew were "hot". At one point in my life I figured the military was the life for me....

We met playing crib on yahoo!! Met 1 night, chatted, and left. And by fluke we came upon each other again, and I believe we have never missed a day chatting since then (June 2001) We didn't meet until nearly a year later. She flew to Seattle, and I drove down from Victoria. And pretty much from then on, one of us traveled each month to see each other. Yes the airlines loved us. She was in DC. and I soon moved to Winnipeg and then eventually NS. I think the longest we were apart was 5 weeks, and that was because I was in Italy for a month. But I got up at god awful times just so we could chat! Our visa process went extremely well, around 6 months from start to finish for the Cr-1! She did work at State Dept, but none of her connections were much help, lol The process seemed to be a lot faster back then. She no longer works at State Dept, gone on to bigger and better, and I'm a RN student. Never in my life did I figure to be a Nurse, lol Oh ya, I have 2 tattoos, 1 is a Canadian flag. I got that prior to heading over to Croatia for a United nations Peacekeeping mission in 1993. And another is one I'm sort of embarrassed of--a teddy bear on a anchor!! i was drunk in San diego!! lol So yes, some shops will tattoo you if ur drunk, lol Proud to say I served in all 3 branches of the Canadian Armed Forces; Infantrymen in the Army Reserves. Transferred over to the regular Force navy, and then got applied for and got selected to transfer over to the Air Force as an Airborne Electronics sensor operator (AES op) flying on the Cp 140 Aurora. Best job I will probably ever have.

OK I will start with my screen name. My name is Vicki and everyone used to spell it VickiE....then one day I said my name is V...no E and it stuck. Someone told me it sounds like wine.
I met my man on an internet dating site. I was bored one nite and put myself "out there" and he bit. His kids set him up on the thing because he is absolutely not into computers. We both lived in rural areas...him in North Dakota and me in Saskatchewan...and the only single people in the area were either related to us or single for a reason (don't mean to be mean..but really). Well we emailed back and forth for a bit and finally met. I figured if he could get into Canada...then I would date him. Heck I was planning on moving for a different job 300 miles away...he swept me off my feet, but I landed soft. He is a farmer, so now I am a farmers wife and absolutely love it. Gosh 10 years ago I would have laughed if someone said that this is where I would be!!!
Anyways, he has 2 children boy 17, girl 14 and I have twin 6 year old girls. His children aren't with us much, but when they do we have a blast.

I am currently taking a computer course to become a Medical Transcriptionist. Not much work here for what I used to do.....well there is but that is a whole different story. I help out with farm work whenever I can, like driving the truck, making meals and taking them to the field...and just being a good support for my man.

That is pretty much us. We aren't too exciting but we have a great life.

It has been awesome to be able to participate in these boards. You all ROCK!!! lol

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPacket 3 and Baby!

Well, we received our Packet 3, got all the stuff together and in an envelope and...I went into labor! So on the day SAm was born we were able to mail out Packet 3 AND welcome our son into the world. It was a good day. :-) He weighed 6 lbs., 8 oz. and was 18 3/4" long.

So if I'm right, our next step is to schedule the medical exam, get our support person's information together, and wait for Packet 4? Pete flies back to England on April 23rd and we're hoping his interview date will be soon after so that he doesn't have to be gone for very long. Hope everynoe is doing well!

That is fantastic news!!!! Sounds like little Sam wanted to be there to be a witness to mailing packet 3.....

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionphysical question
Hi there
Just wondering if anyone out there knows if I require my passport for my immigration medical??? I am Canadian and due to the "big rush" on getting passports....I still do not have mine. I finally got ahold of them today and was more than disappointed at the rudeness and unprofessionalism of the person I talked to...but thats a story for another time. Anywhooo....I have my physical booked for Apr 12 and I'm worried my passport won't be here by then.
So of course "the worrier" in me is coming out and wondering "do they need the passport?"...if so...why???
Thanks
Vicki

Thanks for that. Yeah, I know he should be doing it. Unfortunately he is a farmer and it is his busy season....I'm visiting and I have the time to get it all figured out. I'm more apt to notice the little things....
I guess I don't want any errors. We have had a heck of a time with things and soon as things seem to be moving along...well we hit a snag. We have now been "snag free" for awhile (fingers crossed at all times).

I will ask him when he gets back in what all he wants to show. He doesn't have anything to hide and has absolutely fantastic records of everything here.

Thanks again

Hello Yodrak

Its been a long journey and I want to make sure we get this right when I finally get my interview....any help would certainly be appreciated.

It says that my fiance has to give bank records? is that correct? Here all I thought...because he is self employed that he had to give his income tax from last year. He has has stocks and bonds at about 75,000.00...does he have to give the serial numbers and list all investments and how much?
It also says on the form that he has to figure out his net worth.....how does he figure that out? Good grief and we thought we were ahead of the game....lol.
Now is the income based on his gross income or net (farm profit) income??? Gosh just for a minute here I wish I was a tax accountant so I could at least "read" this income tax form. urgghhhh

Anyone???

Thanks

I am wondering if anyone can help. I am getting ready to send back my checklist. Now thing is....my fiance is a farmer and of course his income is not HUGE. I am worried I will get rejected (since it is me and my 2 girls) that he is sponsoring. He does not have a problem paying bills...he owns heaps of stuff. Has a moderate savings as well as investments. But its the "farm income" on his taxes that show a small amount. I really don't know how taxes work but I'm a worrier and I don't want to get denied after ALL of the work we have done.
Anyone???? :help: :help: :help:

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionCo-Sponsor question(s)???

OK...one more thing (deep breath)

ON the I-134 it says "See instructions for nature of evidence of net worth to be submitted"......what is that? and how does he figure that out???

again
thanks

Uh - it means see the instructions: http://www.uscis.gov.../form/I-134.pdf - that long bit of text that comes before the form.

Kinda figured that out... but I thought it might be some sort of "top secret" thing that I couldn't unravel.

Did you find the answer to what you wanted in the form instructions, or do you still have questions about where to find the info in the instructions or what the instructions mean?

I find the instructions a bit confusing, and neither one of us are pros on the this whole thing. I guess like I said in all honesty I just don't want to finally get an interview...get there and get refused.

the number of household members is 5
take his gross income of $22,000.00 and subtract it from $30,162
$8,162.00 is the shortfall
$8,162.00x 3=$24,486.00 for the I-864
$8,162.00x 5=$40,810.00 for the I-134?

Bottom line is, he needs at least $24,486.00 in assets to make up for the lack of income and you've already mentioned he has 75 k in investemnts.......so stop worrying ;)

Thanks for that...
I had read earlier that they look ONLY at the income and not at his assets....that was more of my worry than anything. You know if worrying was a profession....I could make millions. Now I also 5 1/2 y.o. twin girls....my worries have only just begun.
Thanks again

Thanks for your answer on the other question. I'm not a huge fan of taxes and don't understand much of them.....but yes, he does have some nice shiny stuff around here. :

I've done lots of looking here and there and here and there....guess I just want someone to ease my mind and tell me to stop the worrying...it only causes grey hair and I already have enough.

Thanks again

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionCo-Sponsor question(s)???
Alrighty then...

Now, I already posted on here...got lots of words of wisdom on this....again, thanks

My farmer fiance has a gross income of @22,000/yr shown in his income tax. They purchase new farm equipment each year to keep their (his and his brothers) income down for some odd reason.
Now my fiance has 1 child that he pays child support for. I am coming complete with 2 children and myself. So now that would make a family of 4 1/2?? His "income" is under the poverty line....however, his liquid assets are well over 100,000.00....that does not include the home/vehicles/camper etc...which he does own.

OK my question is should he have a co-sponsor? I know at least 1 of his brothers will do this for us. Now if we have a co-sponsor..is there a form? I haven't seen one. So if he has a co-sponsor, do I just give them this if they ask or should I hand it all over to them.

Signed,
Very Uninformed and Trying to get this right.

Be thankful you're being interviewed in Vancouver! The wait won't be long. Most people faxing their checklist there get an interview about a month later. I specifically asked for one on a certain date, later than they would have given me one, to coordinate with other vacation plans.

Good luck during this process!

Carla (F)

P.S. Question? Why would you travel 950 kms to get your medical results?? Wow!

I'm hoping it will all be over soon....so I put on preferred date June/May/Soonest Available. Sounds desperate...lol.

I went to the Dr. in Saskatoon and I live on the border....it was a 475 trip there and 475 trip back. They will not courier the results. So....yesterday I went for a drive. Today, I'm doing nothing.

Thanks for the good luck wish...same to you!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionJust faxed off my checklist!!!
We are filing for K1 through Vancouver and I just faxed off my checklist.

I have all the forms filled out (hopefully correct). I just got my medical results back yesterday....had a 950km drive to get them and back. The doctor says to me "everything looks good"...guess that means I don't have any communicable diseases or some form of something that isn't "allowed". That includes my twin girls as well.

Now the waiting game begins. I wait patiently for Vancouver to phone/email/mail? me my appointment time. Then I get to fly over the mountains for my quick trip there and back.

So any ideas how long it is after they receive the checklist as to when they actually book an interview??????? ANYONE?????

Hope you are all having a great day!!!

Hello everyone,

I do know that I am still in the waiting process to get my 10 year gg, but thinking ahead I want to get a head start or at least think of everything for my Naturalization before it is a problem.

Here is my problem: I live on the USA/Canada border. I have spent many days in Canada, not more than 4 at a time, but they want a listing for the last 5 years. I do not remember. Wow, I barely remember last year.

Has anyone had this circumstance? or can help us?

Thanks in advance!!

US Citizenship General Discussiona couple of questions
Hello everyone,

I am applying for USA Citizenship at the beginning of 2011 (my 3 years will be up then). I have two 9 year old daughters that my USA Citizen husband has just adopted, they were residents, same as me. I'm not sure how I have to go about this. I will apply for myself, what do I do with my girls that were legally adopted by my husband that were in permanent resident status for 10 years.
Sorry if any of this sounds confusing, but I really don't know how to put the question.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I have honestly never watched it....I guess when I moved from the small town I grew up in (no cable or anything but CBC)....I never or tried not to watch CBC...lol. I know I probably missed out on lots. I do love Canadian TV though and so do my children. When we are at my fiances place they miss the "Treehouse" channel...they just don't get the same shows as we do.
I also remember Sesame Street as being English/French....now I only hear Spanish. But no matter a second language is always great.
I think some of my fav Cdn shows of recent are Robson Arms, Corner Gas and Jeff Etc (I think that is what it is called)...
Fortunately for me that the man I am marrying only lives 10 kms from the border and we do pick up a snowy CBC and CTV....lol. I never ever thought I would admit to missing CBC so much. (sorry I still don't like hockey...lol)
