I have a question. Today, I received the I-797, Notice of Action which states our petition approval has been sent to the consulate in Casablanca. Can someone tell me when we will received an instruction packet with forms and requirements for the interview? And from whom this packet comes from and how long it takes to receive it?
Thanks in advance for your feedback

I speak internet Moroccan and I don't think this is a letter. I think its some kind of chain of thought or prose to his internet love and he is saying I am trying to move closer to her but her heart is so broken and she is holding his picture

And the end says to be continued.

The man who made her cry like this is probably Moroccan too and next time I suggest you do not use reverso to write a letter.

PS.. this kind of stuff works with Americans so lay it on thicker honey... She will definitely go for it

I am saddened by the judgment and critical feedback people offer this person. This person is obviously reaching out, and this is the best we can give him? I am ashamed at my fellow man that we would treat a brother so critical and with such "box brain" feed back. We are all human begins who need support and encouragement at times, not to be ridiculed or told we fall short in language, relationship, etc.
To my fellow man who post this....please know not all are judging and condemning. Please know that these hard times will bring you great opportunity for growth and awareness, if you choose the lesson offered...

Congratulations!

Would you mind describing the interview process? I actually just looked up Casa here on the consulate reviews: sounds like there have been FOUR K1 approvals from Casa in the last few weeks! Amazing.

:) Good luck with the transition and congrats again!!

I will post a review of the interview process soon. I have heard that Casablanca is one of the harder places to get K1 approval, so I am very grateful.....
Thank you for all the well wishes

Will Adams need to have his Birth Certificate, Criminal Record and all other official documents re-translated? Apparently some of the documents, like the criminal record, expire in 3 months from original date. We want him to take care of any requirements like this before he leaves for USA on Tuesday.
Also, is there any other documents you can think of that are required to obtain marriage certificate, work permit, drivers license, etc in the USA that was not part of our K1 package?
Thank you for your feedback.

How long does it take to get the employment authorization and change of status? We sent our forms I485 and I765 to USCUS 30days ago. We called and they state they have nothing although I have a tracking number from the USPS saying the package was delivered. Also, the check for 1200.00 has not been cashed. Hi,I know that a person who gets greencard through a CR1 visa process should remove conditional status of it 90 days befor the expiration, but I am confused that after the removal of conditional status I would get U.S passport(after 3 years from entering to U.S) or 10 year greencard!

you are getting the 10 year green card..

I emailed both Angela and Denise over the weekend.

Angela replied today. she said that it was a good thing that I had emailed her about the lack of transfer to NVC.
My petition approved on 1-14 -2011 had hit a "snag".
Sure enough I just got a text and email from TSC and my case status is updated to show today as the day it was sent to NVC.

"On February 14, 2011, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly."

I surely hope that this is the real thing!!

Good luck, and prayers everyone.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCSC to TSC to NVC: the Saga continues
Greetings everyone.

Maybe this is old news. If so I believe that it bears repeating.

I called NVC this evening and spoke with an "operator".
I asked if they had assigned a case number for me. She said no.
She said that since it was more than 15 days since the I-797 approval date; I should do an email inquiry.

The email address to send the inquiry is: nvcresearch@state.gov.

She also said that the email subject line should contain the USCIS case number and I should attach a PDF of the I-797 approval notice.
In the message body I gave a brief description of the purpose of my email along with my name and a phone number.

I just received this auto-reply:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you for your recent inquiry to the National Visa Center. This
e-mail is an auto response. Please do not respond.

We review and reply as appropriate to all e-mails in the order they are
received.

Thank you,

Good luck everyone.

I hope this is helpful.

I met my husband in a chat room 8 years ago and i still have our first conversation ever. I sent to them that conversation and i dont think there is not way for them to know 100% if its true or not. I imagine they might just read a couple of parts of the conversation but they are not going to really read all the way thru.

Is there a way that you can get a letter from a common friend of yours that can proof that you guys are in a serious relationship? (Doesn't have to be certified)
Cellphone bill with your partners name and yours?

Middle East and North Africa$$ for weddings
We had a civil wedding first and just went to lunch with our "witnesses" after the ceremony.

Then we had a church ceremony for our relatives and friends to celebrate our marriage with us. We had the reception in our backyard, bought the food, made our own wedding invitations, wedding program, the church decor, bridal bouquets and corsages, bought the drinks. I bought my wedding dress on ebay (for $25 laughing.gif ) but we rented the tuxes for my husband and our two boys. . We also bought some of those disposable cameras and placed them on the tables for the guests to take pictures with. We spent between $4-5K which was not bad considering we had about 100 people celebrate with us. It was very informal and more like a (Filipino-style) fiesta.

I am also worried he may be very upset about his back. That is his profession, if he can not train and compete I dont know what he would do, he would go crazy.

Awww, I know that feeling. I was unable to get ahold of my husband a few times and I totally freaked out. He always was safe and sound though, it was just normally a problem with work or with the phone lines. My husband is reluctant to call places as well but slowly he's doing it. I also feel like I have another child in the house but here's my theory........I'm a control freak I think so I kind of like it. I like telling him, do this, then do that. It's what I'm used to after all these years of being the boss in the house with just me and the kiddos. I think it would bother me more if the conversion from kiddo to man in the bedroom didn't happen but it does so it's all good. lol. I think it's just different personalities. If I really had my mind set on a man who would take charge I'd be in deep doo doo, but again that's just my own personality and it's how I've always been. Dominant in the real world and submissive in the bedroom. devil.gif

HEHEHE too funny! I used to say that all the time! Of course, that is when I was married and had something going on in the bedroom, (the 1st year of marriage). OK, prolly TMI here, sorry.

I'm a former convert (converted like 15 yrs ago, way before I met my current husband). I got disenchanted with religion in general so now I consider myself agnostic. I believe in a higher power though. Is your man Muslim? Are you interested in Islam? Please, please, please don't convert for a man. PLEASE! Also please don't change and conform yourself into an Arab wannabe. It's so disturbing. I only say this because Arab men tend to dominate and women tend to want to please them and think the only way to please is to be as much like their man as possible.

Here my husband has worked at a gas station, restaurant, carpet cleaning place and now it's food service again. Nothing that pays all that great. He's had a way hard time getting work. Before he came here he worked in IT/Network Admin. His degree isn't worth the paper it's written on here.

No, I will not change for anyone, I am way too old for that. LOL However I have looked into lots of religions in my life and I do agree with a lot of the Muslim ways. A lot of it just makes sense to me. Will I convert? I dont know, I have learned lately never to say never. LOL I have said I would NEVER get married again, I will NEVER have more kids. Now, I want to marry him, the kids are a question. I am getting to old to have more, and if it takes him as long as I am thinking to get here my eggs may all be dried up.
That is very sad about his IT degree, I am afraid what he will have a hard time finding work here.

LOL Bridget!

I wanted to add something about my own personal feelings/experience. I love my husband but I wish I didn't. I honestly regret meeting him, going to Egypt, marrying him and bringing him here. He's not a terrible guy but he has complicated my life a lot. I hate saying this about a person but he's been more trouble than he's worth. I know it sounds awful but I like honesty and I'm quite certain there are a few ladies here who feel the same but don't want to publicly admit it or even admit it to themselves. It doesn't necessarily have to do with him being Egyptian or Arab or whatever though that does play a small part. The ideals and IMO "old fashioned" or "traditional" ideas bug me at times. I can't describe it. It's not the religion either because neither of us practice a religion. He's Muslim but he doesn't practice. He doesn't pray or fast or any of it. Neither do I. But it's always there, yanno? His family is religious so he feels obligated to call himself a Muslim. And I feel he fears eternal damnation if he doesn't. I no longer have that fear. Anyhoo, the past two years haven't been easy...at all. He's been here two years. I've known him nearly five years. The visa process took one year total. Like I said, he's not horrible, he's not even bad but I kinda feel stuck. You don't marry someone, make him move to foreign country and then just say, meh I change my mind. You gotta follow through, right? I'm not unhappy. I'm not thrilled but I'm not unhappy. I make my own happiness though. I don't expect him to make me happy. Anyways, the visa process, the uncertainty, the adjustment, the finding a job, the culture clashes, the miscommunication/misunderstanding, the wanting to live up your #######, the (at times) controlling nature...it's all a bit much. Too much breaking in, too much hand holding (not literal holding of hands)...a child doesn't even require that much hand holding. Basically, as a wise woman told me, importing a husband is the same as adopting a retarded toddler. It's exhausting. So that's my story. It probably sounds worse than it really is.

I know the sappy, lovey dovey stories will follow and make me look like a chump. That's cool but I know it's not all a bed of roses. Just different levels of frustration.

I have thought about all of that, and I am sure it is tough. Thanks for your honesty.
