Three wonderful weeks of warm & funny moments with family, going to the beach(es) and pigging out on the food. I'm not sure if December would be a good time to go but if you get a chance, check out Sumilon Island. It's AWESOME!! It used to be a Marine Reserve and they are trying to maintain a balance between having a nice resort without spoiling the marine life. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	I'm new...BE GENTLE!!!	[font=Comic Sans Ms] Hi guys!! I just wanted to say hello to all of you folks up here on VJ. I must confess that I have been reading up on this board for several weeks now, and I finally decided to go ahead and register because I will be be beginning the I-129f process the 2nd week of July!! I AM SOOOOO EXCITED! I hope that you guys will be able to help me out along the way---after reading alot of your posts, it seems like such a daunting task, but as I've come to realize over the past year, I would do ANYTHING in this world to be with the one that I !! Nothing is too great or small!! So, when I actually get to rolling on the paperwork, I'll let you guys know. I've already downloaded some forms (although I think I should wait to download the I-129f since they are redoing it soon). I've also begun collecting items such as phone bills, cards, pictures, plane ticket receipts, hotel receipts (my travel agent even went through his old stuff to help me out!! Thanks Chip! ), passport photos, birth certificate, etc. AND I'm practicing filling out the forms correctly...If this sounds a little #######---it's because I AM!! LOL!!! I just wanted to know the approx waiting time between the time you send in your I-129f petition and the time it takes for them to let you know they received it....I know they got it because I sent it Express and I tracked it for delivery status and it WAS delivered the next day....I sent it on the 12th, they received it on the 13th...Just wanted to know when I could be expecting something in the mail... K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Deciding on POE...	I am a LONG way from this step in the process...but I was interested in knowing who determines the POE for the foreign fiancee/spouse? Does the USC get to choose where they will fly into, or is that determined by the "Powers that Be"? It seems to me, if we were able to choose which POE we wanted, we would all avoid ATL (since I've heard SO many negative things about them!) and choose the POE that generally tends to have the least amount of hassle. I completed the updated I-129F...Anywhoo, for all of you veterans up here...today was the 1st time that the "Receipt Date" was changed...Previously it stated July 14, 2006 and the "Last Updated" date was the only thing that changed...is that good or bad?? If you filed using the new form (that has an effective date of May 23 on it) then you already answered the IMBRA questions and you won't be getting an RFE unless they screw up. Several people up here that have used the new form said they received RFE's... I used the new form, and I just received e-mail notice of an RFE being sent to me...I'm not quite sure exactly what it's about, but I'll keep you guys posted!! K-1 in July and approved already. I'm happy for you, but I miss my darling!!!!!!!!! Our Federal gov't is incompetent to the point of criminality. They cashed my check quick, but that's it. I'm so sorry for you and everyone else who is still waiting....I felt like you when I saw people who were approved in like a couple of weeks!! Well, just because I'm restless I decided to call NVC, and they told me that they had received and processed my case on WEDNESDAY! I was shocked because I thought it would take like a week or so to get there. Anyway, the guy did say that he wasn't sure when they were going to send it out to Jamaica, so that means I'll be calling back in a couple of days!!! Good luck everyone! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	People who had NOA1 during the period of past 2 months, Vermont Center	VSC all the way.............dont know whether to be happy i found VJ site or not. Before joining the site i was happy to simply plod along the journey, now i am obsessed about being touched or not. Sure, i have gotten lots of useful info here (which i am yet to use) but my recent obsession with wanting to know who`s gotten NOA2 or not leaves much to be desired leaving me less productive. 4.42am e.t and i am on this site....Sheesh, i gotta get a life outside NOA, AOS, EAD and dont lets forget the almighty RFE. I think if i had used the new form (which i clearly saw online but figured hey the old form has 6/30 exp. date on it) around 6/22/06 when i mailed my 129F package, i may have squeaked past the April avalanche of RFEs being returned and perhaps gone further along the process without getting the RFE that sat in the postoffice for some 2-3weeks (while i went looking for shells along some caribbean beaches). Mailing RFE back to VSC on 7/31/2006 and getting receipt notice on 8/4/06 certainly caused, i presume, some delay in my case. Ah well!!!!!!!!!What to do but remain obsessed??????????? It's the luck of the draw with the new form---I filed with it in July and STILL received the IMBRA RFE !! Why not wait 5 months after receiving the visa then you will have an additional 3 months to marry. That's exactly what my fiance and I are planning to do. I am hoping that he will get his interview date sometime in November. Then, I plan to bring him over around April (the 5 month mark), and then marry him 2 months later. I'm doing that mainly for planning purposes, and to give him a chance to save up some money for rings, and other things that he may need...after all, he will be leaving EVERYTHING and EVERYBODY behind, and I'm sure there'll be a lot of loose ends with people etc that he will want to tie up.
