Do you hear straight away if you are transferred to CSC? or does a letter follow?

Gemma, most of those who were transferred got NOAs from CSC right off the bat.

Yay! Gemma! Glad to hear you got your NOA!

Interesting that your receipt date is also the date you sent your I-751. Does your NOA indicate if it was issued by VSC or if your file was transferred to CSC?

I hope you get your NOA soon Gemma.

According to the latest update from USCIS, VSC has issued NOAs for applications received 8/02/07.

Well, on my side still no touch since June 24. My husband's I-485 was last touch in 2005.

Have you all think that they might be looking to the old info just to compared with the new ones? that is what I think.

Hi Gringa!

There's really no "new" info to compare back in January 2007 when they "touched" my old I-485 since I just mailed my I-751 last Aug 8. smile.gif

Yeah!

I too am looking forward to seeing our checks cashed ... although that would probably not happen for another 2 weeks or so. People would think we're crazy to look forward to such an event. laughing.gif

As to your question about transferring people to CSC, they're still doing it. In my signature you will see a link to a post that has a running list of current CSC transferees.

That's very interesting (and strange)!!

I just checked the online status of my (and my son's) old files and our I-485s were both touched in January 2007. I'm guessing they're moving old files to their new centralized data center.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionConditional GC Approved without Interview
There has been so much speculation whether CSC transferees whose AOS were approved without interview would be called for interview when they apply for removal of condition. I think it would be interesting to compile a list of those transferees who have sent in their I-751s so that we can track which ones will or will not be called for interview.

So, if you were a CSC transferee with AOS approval sans interview, please fill in your information below:

Great news Richard! I hope Anna will have "fun" driving around in Atlanta traffic.

I've found that Tuesdays and Thursdays are usually the "best" days to go and transact with government offices. In fact, we got my 16 year old's provisional DL last Tuesday and we were only there for less than an hour (including the time spent on the actual road driving test).

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionlifting conditions
It is almost time to send the Lifting Conditions form and papers to immigration. Our 90 days are up July 21, so I will be sending the packet about July 23rd. That should be fine, right? Also, by sending proof of residence, like bills, bank statements, etc., they don't need 2 to 3 months worth, just one of each with both of our names on it?
Please let me hear back about this. I know we send tax forms for the 2 years he has been here and filed, and affadavits from friends, but I can't think of anything else. Oh yeah, I do have our recent trip to his country, itinerary and pics too. So let me hear back about this. Thanks.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionNeed to visit home but 2 yr gc is about to expire
I also agree. Definitely file before you leave! Count back 90 days from the day your card expires and I would have everything ready to send that day. I'm sure you will have your biometrics appointment before you go. As far as if you get an interview...I have asked USCIS about this a couple of weeks ago.

My husband and I are filing our I-751 today & his green card expires in June. We have already purchased plane tickets to visit his family in Jordan this September. USCIS says their "estimated" approval time for I-751 is 6 months..so for us September is 5 months from the day we file so I was worried about possibly getting an interview date scheduled (if we have to have one) when we are out of the country. The lady at USCIS told me that if you get an interview letter and there is a conflict with the interview date, call them immediately to reschedule. It will delay your app, but if you miss it then you will be in trouble. But I've read on here that only 5-10% get interviews so the chances are slim.

My advice would be to file as soon as you can so you get the bulk of things out of the way before you go. Plus you need the NOA1 that extends your green card for a year to be able to travel outside the US after your actual green card expires. I would say to file & get your NOA1 so that just in case you get stuck or planes are delayed extra days PAST your expiration date, you will have no worries since you have the 1 year extension.

Good luck!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 Application Part 5 List All Your Children
Hi Everyone,

I am about to file our I-751 for Removal of Conditions. I was previously married and had a daughter before I met my husband who is the LPR. My husband has not adopted my daughter because my ex still has some contact with her and we can't take him off the birth certificate until he has had 1 year without any contact. So my question would be, on part 5 of the I-751 application where it asks to list all your children, would I list her even though she is not the LPR's biological child?

My husband and I do not have any children together.

Thanks for the help!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionVermont, slow as maple syrup

I know what you mean. Best of luck!

I know that some people abuse the system and just go for the GC and that's what is so frightening... we're all presumed guilty until we prove ourselves innocent.

All they need to do is put a voice recorder in our house. We certainly argue like married people!!!!!

If Mike got booted back to Canada, he'd probably lose his job. His support system is no longer there (mother died, father moved to the other side of the country). His money would be here, tied up in our house. Not to mention the fun of being separated and having to try to get me into Canada (my daughters' father being totally upset with me wanting to take the girls to Canada, me giving up my job, selling our house, and still having a stupid house under water in NY that I can't get rid of.) It'd be a total disaster.

Not that I expect any of that to happen of course. Because it can't. And that's all I have to say about that!!!!

Yeah. I love immigration.

Advice to my children : Marry a USC.

Thank you! You are totally right! My husband is from Jordan and it would be really rough on us if we had to move there. My daughter is 5 and speaks NO Arabic...she is from my previous marriage and I would have a time too with my ex trying to move her out of the country!

I agree immigration is awesome!! haha

I think I will go with the same advice to my daughter too! Or at least if you marry someone from outside the US, make sure it is a country you love and just move there instead!!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionVermont, slow as maple syrup
Well, I have never done their job (at VSC) and I don't know how much it entails, but I would have to say, as thorough as us VJ'ers are, I'm pretty sure we send in everything and are super detailed. So that should make their job easier. Are there more people submitting applications to VSC or are they just that dang slow? Maybe there is one of those "unspoken" wait periods...they just throw it in the "wait pile" and after it has been there a month or two they actually pick it up & do something with it...like transfer it to the "little bit longer" wait pile. I know with our CR-1 case we were lucky enough to get it transferred to CSC and things went pretty quick after that. I was planning on waiting until April 1 or 2 to send my I-751 packet, but I am thinking I may go ahead and send it tomorrow. I don't have much patience and this whole VSC wait ####### is going to be rough!

I haven't seen anyone mention that their I-751 had been transferred to CSC. Is that possible? You would think CSC would just go ahead and pick up the slack!!! Go VSC Go!!

Oh boy...I don't want to hear that!!! We will be filing at the beginning of April for the I-751. For our CR-1 we filed at VSC then got transferred to CSC after 3 months and then approval came pretty quickly after that. I hope we are approved before our trip to Jordan in September...6 months away. :innocent:

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 March 2011 Filers

Do you need get your passport stamped if you are planning to travel? Would the letter we received stating the 1 year extension not suffice? We are planning an overseas trip but would like to avoid the hassle of making an infopass appt. since we'd have to go to the USCIS San Antonio office to get the stamp (we live in Austin).

Argent we just got back from overseas about 3 weeks ago. My husband brought the 1 year extension letter along with his expired green card and we had no trouble at all going through immigration in the airports. When we came back & went through JFK airport, the immigration officer said they get a lot of fraud letters, so they send us to another section after our passports are stamped for arrival and it only took like an extra 5 minutes for them to verify the authenticity of the extension letter. We had no problems at all and everything went smoothly. So you should be fine with the extension letter & expired green card for international travel. :)

Looks like your timeline is similar to mine but in April....here's hoping by the end of this week or early next week your check will be cashed!

Thanks so much! I think the people in the April thread who's check has been cashed already are at CSC not VSC...so that probably has something to do with it. Hopefully it won't be long before check is cashed. I think I've had too much coffee this morning and I am nervous!
