Well, if you're going to put it that way...no one on this forum is qualified to argue either way. And although I think that Adiel's husband makes a lot of good points, of course his opinions are just that...opinions.

I disagree. I can speak for my own lack of knowledge; and state that I am not qualified. But based on reading the opinions and the analysis of other posters, they definitely sound qualified to have this discussion.

That makes sense in that saying gods name before eating makes the food halal. But then again, I am by no means an expert in the Quran.

The real question I want to know is this. How confident are you in your interpretation? In other words, it is easy to say this as a discussion point, but is this what you actually do?

The question is this... do they hate arabs that much that they put them thru such #######? or is it just normal paperwork? the woman I work with is from peru. She got here in four months without a problem...

This probably isn't a consolation to you, but it feels like the embassies hate MENA & Asia people...

Middle East and North AfricaThe hadith is not islam!
QUOTE (rclouse @ Sep 6 2007, 06:12 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Basically, if you want to kill someone, do so and say s/he was insulting the Prophet. You'll get away with murder.

I would think that the reason the blind man was able to murder was not because he accused someone of insulting the Prophet, but because that person was actually insulting the Prophet.

Ignoring that point - I tend to agree with you - it is far safer to ignore the verses/chapters/surahs that make no sense to you, as you might not be interpreting them properly. Better to speak to someone more qualified and have them explain it to you.

QUOTE (anxious @ Sep 3 2007, 11:11 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I believe the hadith is a guide and explanation to the Quran.
Yes, the Quran says to pray...but where is the method of prayer explained,? In Hadith.
The Quran says to fast...but where are the guidelines to fasting? In Hadith.

Perhaps the Quran did not specify an exact method of prayer because prayer is a personal thing that can be expressed in different ways for different people?
The same can be said for fasting. Since everybody is different (some are healthy, some are sick, some have disease, some are old) maybe fasting is another one of those personal things to be expressed differently as well?

I hope everything works out for the best for your wife.

Pushbrk's idea should work - transferring $3 to your wife's bank account for every $1 of income she needs to demonstrate. Transfer the money sooner then later - the longer it is in the bank account, the more credible it will be to the Embassy.

Also, getting her a co-sponsor might be required.

You cannot co-sponsor, as you do not meet the requirements to sponsor

The list below identifies who must become sponsors by completing and signing a Form I-864.
- The U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident who filed a Form I-130 for a family member, Form I-129F for a fiance(e), or Form I-600 or I-600A for an orphan.
- The U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien who filed an employment-based immigrant visa petition (Form I-140) for a spouse, parent, son, daughter, or sibling who: (1) has a significant ownership interest (five percent or more) in the business which filed the employment-based immigrant visapetition; or (2) is related to the intending immigrant as a spouse, parent, son, daughter, or sibling.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhat is the right thing to do?

Even if we got married here in US?

Marriage in the US does not allow you a "get through Immigrations Free card".

You spouse still needs a Visa to come into the country, as he is NOT a U.S. Citizen or Permanant Legal Resident.

The problem is for you to get him a visa, you will need to sponsor him as a spouse of yours - CR-1/K-3 process; as he is no longer a fiancee.

Unless of course, you contact the embassy, and they are sympathetic for your case and grant your spouse a visa.

Technically, the Embassy has a lot of power to do nearly anything they want. Realistically, they rarely wield this awesome power unless their due process is followed.

Perhaps you want to contact the embassy to see what your options are?

I'm very suprised that the consulate did not cancel the tourist visa upon granting the K1 visa.

Are you certain the tourist Visa is still valid? Sometimes they cancel it on their computer systems, but do not place any mark on the Passport Visa page.

I don't think you can use the Tourist Visa because he does not have intent to return back to his country. You may have to sponsor him as a Spouse of a U.S. Citizen, but I am not sure. perhaps you can contact the embassy for further details?

That's understandable. These aren't trivial matters, and the potential consequences of an error could be disastrous. It's better to be safe and ask.

Thats what his tax returns say, as his boss pays part cash.

Just because his boss pays half by cash, doesn't mean that you can't and shouldn't report the entire income on the tax return. You can amend your returns fro the prior 3 years to demonstrate the proper income, and also get the satisfaction of doing the right thing smile.gif

hah, our case is the only case created for the Helsinki embassy on that day! Nice to know...I could have guessed as much tongue.gif

How do you know that?

If your last three digits are 001, that simply means you where the first case created for Helsinki on that day.

If you have an inside contact at the NVC, then perhaps you could determine how many cases for Helsinki were created on that day.

QUOTE (ze22 @ Sep 6 2007, 10:10 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
We finally received our NOA1 but the notice date on the NOA1 is different to the one on the website. On the website as well as when you call the USCIS it states that On June 4th we received your case blah blah blah. The dates on the noa1 in mail are

notice date :2007/08/13
received date:2007/05/15
priority date:2007/05/15

Now I am thoroughly confused... I have another question which date is more important priority date or notice date??? Did anybody face the same situation? helpsmilie.gif

The date you need to be concerned with is 2007-05-15. 2007-08-13 was when the notice was printed, which is irrelevant; and 2007-06-04 was the date they loaded your case into their system.

The RECEIVED DATE and PRIORITY DATE signify the important date for you in terms of escallation.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F Beneficiary's Brother is out of status - Will that affect us?
Thanks for the replies.

I have a followup question. When my fiancee needs to fill out the electronic form DS-156, for question #37:

Are Any of The Following Persons in The U.S. or Do They Have U.S. Legal Permanent Residence or U.S. Citizenship?
Mark YES or NO and indicate that person'sstatus in the U.S. (i.e., legal permanent resident, U.S. citizen, visiting, studying, working, etc.)

[My fiancee has a brother and a sister, sister is U.S. citizen, brother is out of status.]

There isn't even enough room on the electronic ds-156 to put down the sister's status, so how do I indicate the brothers status?

Thanks!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F Beneficiary's Brother is out of status - Will that affect us?
Hello,

I just mailed in my I-129F petition today, thanks very much to the great information on this forum and website.

My fiancee has two siblings; both are in the Unites States. Her older sister is a US Citizen (naturalized through some investment visa some years ago), and her younger brother is currently out of status in the US. He was here on a student visa, and I believe he is currently overstaying his visa.

Assuming that my fiancee's brother doesn't correct his status, can that affect our I-129F petition? Also, can it affect her interview at the Delhi Consulate when it gets to that phase?

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks!
