I guess NVC is really backlogged and they are giving that time frame to buy time in reviewing packages and clearing the backlog and also prevent people from constant calling and bugging. Its just my own opinion.   I agree with you because i'm a f2a benefiacary and there are hell lots of f2a 2013 filers that got stuck and need to wait for PD to be current to get to interview and with recent retrogression and backlog , i'm sure more and more people are constantly calling them so they have no choice but... IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	April 2014 Interviews	Look at the list and see a few from your country get interview pretty fast after case complete.   Everyone please be patient. As i have said before there is a set time scheduling starts.   May interviews scheduling should start probably Wednesday, Thursday or Friday this week.   Once people start getting interviews and report back that's when you can get all excited and anxious until then its wait until it starts.   Once in awhile you do see someone get interview in middle of month. Cancellations happen everyday and people get moved into the open slot. Some embasies keep scheduling open all month because they are less busy. Some just open it for that open time and close it until they either run out of slots or people.   So hang on soon you should be hearing something. Report back when you do. Nothing like scheduling day its so exciting just watch.       Well for your embassy not good news. They aren't the fastest in scheduling. Don't know if they are just busy or what. I hope things are better then they were last fall. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	September 2014 Interviews	We made it home last night!!! Minneapolis POE was super easy. The first CBP was a bit grumpy and when my husband showed the flimsy white 'do not open' package (it traveled through 4 countries with no tears!) the agent said 'oh yay, another one'. He said my husband needs to go to the Passport Control room and wait for an officer there. I asked if I could go back with him and he said 'yea if you want, just warning you, you're going to be there for a while'. I made a joke that I'll just go home and get the car then. Went down like a led balloon! We go to the room where I made another crack that we were sent to the principal's office. The second CBP heard me and said 'this is NOT the principal's office, this is the GOOD room!' He asked one question, when did we file. We said Sept 2013 and he said 'that's it?!' I gave him a Madea look and he said 'some people wait years for this!' I told him I was fully aware. Since I kept chiming in throughout the conversation, the CBP dude asked if my photo should be on the green card (while laughing). He said he tries to have a sense of humor and I told him it was appreciated as we've read horror stories. Naturally, he said don't believe everything we read. Visa stamped, signed, and my husband finger printed. We asked about the social security card and he said they have no control over that, since it was completed on the DS-260 which is a DoS document (makes sense).   Totally amazing ! I will fly to Tokyo for interview, and wondering how long it typically takes to get passport back after the interview? I remember seeing others get it back in a 3-4 days?       It is unpredictable it will be around 3-10 days mostly if you are not in AP , however should you in AP then it will take weeks or months even years ( rare ) Edited by Phillip Wu, 15 August 2014 - 06:17 AM. Generally if the embassy/consulate has space open earlier they'll let you move your date and London has been reasonably good about this recently.    My bad , it was misleading sorry. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	September 2014 Interviews	Can anyone share the reason they gave when asking for an earlier interview date? I simply was honest and told them I was hoping to be reunited with my wife as soon as possible after a long and very difficult time living apart during our visa application process. Even though I'm 'ready' to be interviewed now after having my medical I guess they just didn't think my reason for wanting a sooner interview was valid.   I suppose I'm just a little shocked as so far I've only seen people here reporting success in getting their dates moved. Do you think this is something I can try asking for again after a while or is that the end of it? In order for the date to be changed do you need to have a valid reason? Is simply wanting to be with your spouse as soon as possible not a good enough reason?    It is likely to be denied unless you have reason other than want to be with your love as soon as possible , the expedite are for people who got real life problems such as medical concern  so they will be able to get visa as soon as possible way ahead of other people.
