K-3 Spousal Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMARCH APPROVAL's, Let's do NVC together
QUOTE (queuedup @ Apr 6 2009, 01:00 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I got approved in about 240 days. The I-129Fs are taking longer than the stand alone I-130 petitions.

I applied for 1-130 and 1-129F i guess what comes first.

hey Guys,

So i am a US Citizen applying for my wife she resides in Karachi, Pakistan.

We got married back in Jan, ok so i applied for k3 and 1-130.

Everything is going smooth until i received a letter from NVC regarding my I-130 Submittal. The letter was for AOS (Affidavitt of support)

So i talked to a rep over at NVC she told me if i have applied for K3 and thts the route i am choosing then i need to send in paperwork letting them know tht i will be adjusting my status.

The question that i have for people specially in Pakistan is that:

Should i wait for 1-130 or give preference to K3 route. Which is faster especially in pakistan...

Please advise..

thanks

I do not know much about the K3 route, but if I was in your situation I would definitely go with I130 because currently it's faster than K3. My case was completed in less than 7 months from the date of NOA1. You may want to look at my timeline or other members on this board to get a rough idea. Good Luck!

Thts what i am debating, i mean i applied back in feb i want to go the fastest route. I really dont care if i have to pay the Adjustment fee..... I guess nobody has gone the k3 route?

I suggest you should call them up,as they do take forever to reply emails, and that too if they reply.I know embassy has specific hours to call in/visit regarding visa issues,so you should really try this now.

Hi!
My wife is in Pakistan and we are going through the K-3 process. There has been no touches for over 5 months. I dont know whats going on, when her case will be approved. Getting extremely frustrated. Some people who applied couple of months after us are getting approvals. I guess cases from Pakistan or such places take much longer.

Wait have you gotten a Approval Notice? Or are you waiting for Interview Date?

MWA, Packet 3.5 is not sent to the beneficiary anymore. Document processing is done at NVC (National Visa Center) now. You can get more details on NVC's website http://travel.state..../visa_4354.html

My wife received the 3.5 packet yesterday.....maybe its different for other countries?

Well, my wife will be interviewed on July 7th at Islamabad as well. Did you file I-130 or K-3?

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about K3 Visa
I just send in my 1-130 application and waiting for Notice of receipt from USCIS. I checked online delivery confirmation and it received in Chicago. How long before i hear from them or receive a receipt?

I was looking at the requirements for K-3 Visa for my spouse it says i need to send G-325A form again. Is that tru? I already sent G-325a form with 1-130 application.

Please advise. also are there any thread that shows what people did after they sent i-130 off to USCIS?

Thanks,

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAbout to put together K3 Package couple of Q's

Thanks

Another question i had was under B.18 in the guide it states to put n/a under this? Why. I am currently married so is it assuming that i am not?

"Form I-129F: Petition for Alien Fiance(e). This form may be used to obtain a K-3/K-4 visa for your alien spouse and her or his child. Fill out the form as directed, except assume that "fiancé" or "fiancé(e)" means "spouse." answer Questions B.17 and B.18 by stating "N/A." Note that filing this form is only necessary to facilitate the entry of your spouse and her or his child as a nonimmigrant. "
this question is specifically for the k1(fiance visa) so it is "n/a" in your case. I marked "n/a" and got approved good.gif

stressful filling them out huh? smile.gif
yah it is..lol...

did you do "no" or left it blank and then "N/A" ?

the "transfer notice" is you 797(notice of action). make a copy and send it with the 129f.
another fee is not required.
going the k3 route is up to you smile.gif
since you are at the cali center, you shouldnt experience any long delays, like at the vermont center. although the 130 stand alones do get processed faster. I would check with some vj members at you consulate to see how far out they are scheduling interviewsfor the two. then you can use that to help you make a decision.
good luck

Thanks lisa for that reply...

You said its the 797 notice of action but in the guide # 10. Copy of the NOA1 from the I-130... (aren't these both the same thing?)

http://www.visajourn...mp;page=k3guide

yep, the notice of action(NOA1) and the transfer notice are one in the same.

Thanks

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAbout to put together K3 Package couple of Q's
Hey Guys,

I just received the NOA1 i-797c for the 1-130, and had a couple of questions as i am about to apply for K-3

A little background, i just applied for i-130 and received the NOA1. Is K3 the right way to go? My spouse is pakistani and my service center is California.

In the 1-129f package checklist.

It list "Copy of I-130 Transfer Notice (indicating where your underlying I-130 petition was routed to after it was filed at the appropriate Chicago Lockbox)."

What is this?

Also do i need to submit another fee even though i submitted a fee for i-130?

Thanks for your help

I didnt even include savings. If you are well above the guidelines, you dont have to include all of that. If you arent, then yes...include everything you can.

As far as the employment letter.. I used one as well. I think it only helps.

Is question #11 the one about intentions on support? do intend, dont intend??
If so, you marked "N/A k3 visa"

Good Luck

Hey guys my wife recvd the Package 3.

I am filling out the i-134, i have couple of Q's...

Part 7 of the app talks about the following:

1. I have on Deposit in savings bank in United States.

2. I have other personal property

3. I have stocks and bonds with the following market value.

I only answered the first question (question 1), is that fine? the example on VJ's site shows the person answering the first question.

2. With the I-134 form i am also attaching a letter from my employer stating Current position, salary and time of employment.. (Is that necessary?)

3. My last question is Question #11 (what should i write for a person going throughthe K3 Route.)

Thanks

QUOTE (Daniel and Erika @ Nov 11 2008, 02:50 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi Mobius, if you need information what you will need to the appointment i could help, as my future husband told you we were in Juarez already but like the consulate is moving we have to wait until they are in the new building, i will be in Juarez again December 11 and 12 so i hope i can have luck and all be ok about my documents..
But if you have a doubt i received a copy of mine so i can send you what do you will need, you can pay the medical exam in the clinic, you no need go to the bank..
And to the appointment you will need pay in the bank, there is a one near to the Holiday Inn hotel in the Adolfo Lopez Mateos Street...
When will be your fiance in Juarez?...
Take care
Erika

Hi, I plan on going to Juarez with my fiance around the same time, 1st or second week of Dec. I don't have a packet but it seems like we may be able to just retrieve our info at the consulate in Juarez?

? So we can pay directly at the medical office for the exam, I imagine that we need some papers to take to a "certain bank" to pay at the interview?

Any info about interviews at the new consulate would be much appreciated.

thanks
