PhilippinesWaiting for a Case Number from NVC

Hello everyone. I Called NVC and I asked for my Case Number and I spoke to a gentlemen and said that it would take another 20 days for them to receive my Package and they should have my Case Number Available by then. Since, we don't have the MNL# yet? Do we need to wait for the appointment letter to start on my fiancee's medical appointment? Right now she's working on getting her Cenomar and NBI Clearance. Don't know if she can start her Medical Appointment right away? Any suggestion please and advice will be greatly appreciated.

1) NOA2 hard Copy sent. Approved on 1/23/12
2) Called NVC and still waiting on the Case Number.
3) Can she start on her Medical??? What's next???

PhilippinesInterview, physical, visa....plane ride.

Hi Ron & Diana

Once she completes here medical. On average takes St. Luke's to send the results to USEM in about 2 days. If all goes as plan and she is approved. It will take 5 - 10 days for 2GO to receive visa and passport from USEM. Delivery depends on location in Philippines. Manila Area is 2 - 3 days or she can pick up the passport and visa at a 2GO location.

Once she has received her passport with visa. Now its time for CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas). CFO Seminar is a 1 day seminar and process. CFO is to inform Filipinos about the country they are traveling to. The Good, Bad and Ugly. They will ask you some questions and issue her CFO sticker and seminar certificate. She will not be able to travel out of Philippines with out completing this seminar and receive the CFO certificate and Sticker.

Once CFO seminar is completed, you're done. Book the Flight!! You will need to pay a NAIA International Departure Fee: PHP 750 mandatory at NAIA. Update this fee will change as of February 2012. Departure fee will be PHP 550.

Estimated time to travel or book flight is between 7 - 14 days after being approved at USEM.

Hopefully this gives you an time frame.

Just a side not she can take the CFO before the interview and just go back by to get the stamp later.

Good Luck and God Bless!!

and I will add that my sister told me I was "kinda of out there" and still had not met my wife. She is currently divorcing her second husband of 25 years, who she said she has hated for years and not made love with since her 20 year old son was conceived.

But I am kind of out there LOL :dance::dance::dance::dance:

my fiance dont want his family and church to know about our relationship. he said that he want everyone's respect. do u think this is reasonable? we are already married in our marriage tradition in the philippines.

I think a lot of us go thru the thing, when people hear we are marrying " A foreigner" . I had some comments made to me and some got back to me. " Oh he just wants a maid, or he is getting one of those asian submissive wives, or "he could not get a woman here. All of these things are so not true.

Here is the thing, it's going to be an adjustment, some people are going to judge him, that;s just the way it is. However they way it should not be, is for him to hide you or be ashamed in anyway of you or what he is doing. He better make up his mind real quick what is more important his wife or what some judgmental jerk thinks.

And I would also add it is the best thing I have ever done. My wife is a wonderful person and I treasure every day with her. She is and will always be first in my life. If your Hsband can't make that commitment you need to rethink things.

PhilippinesI-129 F at Manila Embassy ?

I have read of many, don't know about hundreds but its possible, who have went to BPI paid their fee and then the next day went online and scheduled their interview all within days of getting the MNL #. So waiting for a package to arrive is not necessary to schedule the interview. I also learned from one of those people, who within the last week did just that, that the I-129F package is electronically sent to the embassy with the physical package following later (the good folks at NVC told him this).

I know that when I have the MNL # I will have my Fiancee head to BPI to pay the fee, then get the interview scheduled the next day, which should be happening within the next week or so just waiting for NVC at the moment.

It seems there is sort of a pi$ing contest going on between you two, but on this one I have to agree there is no need to wait on the I-129F package.

I know it's pretty much standard practice. The day after the NVC precessed our packet and got we got our MNL number we had our appointment scheduled. I don't know why Tahoma insists on giving bad info to people. I am in several Pinay/American groups on FB and it is was done by a majority of the members.

Also it's really not a pissing contest, it's just that I know what a stressful time it is waiting and wondering about your K-1. Any advice or reassurance and accurate info we can give those still going thru it is important. I just hate to see people guess at info or put out bad info out. Nothing personal against the guy, it's just that I just went thru it and I know the two issues I am arguing with him about for a fact.

The suggestion that someone carry both a transcript and return is a perfect example. Will it derail your interview to do both. Of course not. It will also not derail your interview to print four volumes of war and peace and carry it to the embassy either, it's jsut that both are a waste of time and money.

Thanks Scuffy, i also hired a lawyer, waste of money.Thank you Visa Journey. I received my case # on Feb. 2, can i start to schedule my interview as well. The embassy said they had the electronic file only, call back next week. Thank you for your reply

That's right Scruffy ! Now all I have to do is sit back and let the little woman do her stuff  This has been a long process and we are nearing the
end. I had no lawyer, I figured it all out myself and I did a good job but you know what ? I couldn't have done it near as well or as confidently without visajourney.com . I thank this free site and those who helped me. Hopefully it will be soon time to get back to a normal life, with a new wife and say goodbye to Skyping 2-3 hours a day !

And it's going to be such a blessing for you. I think the days toward the end were the hardest. You were smart not to hire a lawyer I wish I had not.

PhilippinesI-129 F at Manila Embassy ?

My fiancee wanted me to check to see if the file was there because she read where someone else had arrived and the file was not. After researching this, I think in most cases the file is going to be there. We did get the MNL# quickly and had the medical and interview set to occur within 30 days so we were moving forward quickly and that was why we wanted to check on this.

Now for the goods. Skip all that DHL tracking. Call the Embassy if you must know. They will check their computer system and let you know if it is there. I was able to get through by calling first thing in the morning. It took less than 1 minute for her to tell me it was there. All you need is the MNL#. Here is the information I used to cal the US Embassy in the Philippines.

For inquiries on a specific case, please call the Immigrant Visa (IV) inquiry line at (632) 301-2000 ( 011-63-2-301-2000 ),
extension 5184 or 5185 during normal business hours. The Visa Information and Appointment Service is
open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Manila time),

I hope I formatted the international number correctly. It took me a while to figure it out with the country code and all.

Good info.

PhilippinesI-129 F at Manila Embassy ?

I see that you are desperately clinging to your standard of proof for your claim...a tier-one script-reader at the NVC. No surprises there.

And you still stubbornly refuse to back up your claim about your alleged short cut. Of course, if it were so widely publicized, you would have no problem providing relevant links now wouldn't you.

And I notice the tone of your posts is becoming shriller since you found out you were so wrong about Stangman's case.

To top off your reading comprehension issues, you praise Stephen for giving the same advice that I've been advocating all along... ...

"They'll be able to tell you whether the embassy has received the package and logged it into their system."

:pop:

I have never met a person who is so consistently wrong with so much conviction and vigor as you are. Folks I am done arguing with the person. He is wrong. Ask around and do your own research. There are 100's of us who made appointment as soon as NVC gave us our MNL number.

PhilippinesI-129 F at Manila Embassy ?

Don't waste your time calling anyone. The fact that you've already made an interview appointment means your case file is ready to go in the Embassy's IV Unit.

Good luck with the interview! :star:

Stephen gave you some good info, but as usual Tahoma is wrong with a vengeance.. You can make your appointment as soon as your MNL number is assigned by NVC. That is one of the most widely publicized short cuts in the Visa world. The fact that you could make an appointment in no way means your file is already there.

In your case, however if you got the letter on the 17th I am sure it is there. :) I was just pointing out his bad info for others that may be waiting on NVC so they can schedule appointment.

Oh i see so that is just okey? Thanks hank , yeah that is what i'm thinking too. 3-5 days maybe.Btw did you already get your MNL# ? Saw your timeline we're almost the same. I contacted the NVC twice on email asking for our MNL# but haven't received any response yet  Should i make a call or what? Been 11 days since it was sent from the day of approval.

I liked calling the NVC about 6 PM. That way if your Visa was processed that day, it will be in the system. The other poster is right. You need to talk to a live person for a K-1 Visa. I forget the exact hours but it seems like that are open to about Midnight EST. It's been a few months so I may be off on that.

If they have your MNL number it means your in the System in Manila and can make an appointment after you pay your fee. If your at 11 days you are right in the Zone, when it could be any day now. Keep calling every day.

PhilippinesThings you had to buy and/or throw away?

My piece of advice to you my friend. Us being Filipino... you definitely need a lot of patience because of the cultural differences you may encounter. I hate to say this but those American White Boys need to really show a lot of respect for our Filipina Ladies. Marrying a Filipina is the most valuable gift you could ever have in your life because not just their beautiful.. They support you 100% on a day to day basis. Filipina's are considered the most brilliant individual on earth so give them the most respectful treatment they deserve. Filipina's are very talented when it comes to your own comfort need as far of taking care of you. Pinays does all the work at home and you wont find a typical American Ladies who cooks, wash clothes and cleans your own house. So give yourself a tap on the back because you made the right Choice.. No offense...

Oh that comment. Well it does not appear it was meant in a bad way. I think everybody is way too sensitive about race nowadays but that it is my opinion
The Nature BoyMalePhilippines2012-02-16 20:39:00
PhilippinesThings you had to buy and/or throw away?

Exactly. Most Filipina's I know want to earn their own money, and don't like playing the housewife thing. If you have kids, be prepared for mom to come live with you as soon as your wife becomes a citizen, so that she doesn't have to stay home and be bored anymore. Even in the Philippines, it is not uncommon for the wife to send the kids to live with her parents so that she can work while she is young enough to still get a job.

I don't know that that is a fact. The majority of our Pinay-American friends are stay at home mom's. I think one of the mistakes a lot of us make is trying to fit all Pinay into one little neat box, by saying most Pinay do this or that. We very quickly make broad generalizations about "all or Most Pinay" and that is just as unfair as saying most white people or most black people etc etc. ( Not attacking you I was guilty of it at first also)

As far as having her own money, . we are a partnership and what is mine is hers, and although my Job is outside the home all we have is "ours". She is quite comfortable telling me when there is a need, and she has her won credit card and access to funds when she needs them.

PhilippinesThings you had to buy and/or throw away?

Hiring a housekeeper would have been cheaper.

So what is wrong with her being a full time house wife if I have a good enough job, so that I can support both of us. Do you really think it would be fair to me , if I leave the house at 6:00 AM, get home at 6 or 7:00 PM, then we both split the house chores evenly. If she was working then by all means.

I love my wife dearly and you insinuating I marred a house keeper is just as ignorant a comment as some of the comments I have heard from some other close minded individuals when they found out I was marrying a Pinay.
The Nature BoyMalePhilippines2012-02-15 19:23:00
PhilippinesThings you had to buy and/or throw away?

Hmmmm....I don't think so. They are wives, not hired help. We split the housekeeping chores.

In my case I work full time, in a demanding job that has gone 78 hour weeks a few times since she has been here. She does not work. I don't have any problem with her job being the upkeep and running of the home.

This is for those guys with Filipina fiancee and wives.

When your fiancee or wife first came to live with you in America. What were some things that you had to buy because she needed, being american you would never need. Also, what are some things you had to hide or throw away cause she found it dis tasteful.

Bought a rice cooker, a car, and a new house. Also lots of Pinay Food. She wants a Bidet, but I working on that.

Things I should have thrown away! The pictures of the young Senorita from right before I met her, laying on our current bed at the time. Oh Yes I bought a new bed also .. LOL

It is an extortion racket run by the Philippines, operating on the assumption that the little immigrant children need big daddy government to wipe their poopie butts for them. They're going to inform her of things like VAWA, which is available here for free and is also far more accurate and up-to-date.

Be sure and show the proper attitude to the bureaucrats empowered by this law: Thank you daddy dear, I would be lost without you. I am on my knees now for your precious sticker.

PhilippinesAOS, civil surgeon or no?

Hello Vjer's,
ok I am back and getting on with our AOS, we are in the middle of looking for a civil surgeon. While looking at some post I came across several that said we dont need to go see one if certain things on her DS-3025 from St Lukes were present. To be honest I am still confussed (old age ) lol. Any help would be appriciated. Under the result section , the box for vaccine history is incomplete, but so is the box saying applicant may be eligiable for a blanket waiver because vaccinations are not medically appropriate. The only thing i can see as being incomplete is Tdap vaccine for insuffient time, have no clue what that means. Anyway not sure if any of this makes sense, do i just go to the surgeon and be done with it or what? Any ideas from thise that have been there done that would be helpful.

Thanks again as always

PhilippinesOneWay Airline prices from Manila to USA

Just curious what kind of prices people are getting for Airline tickets from Manila to USA.

What airline did you fly one way from manila to USA and what was the price?

Has Anyone had a good experience with a travel agency here in manila? If so what is the name?

Would like to fly Asiana or non-usa airline but keep getting message due to Philippine law they cannot book tickets online.

Had horribe experience with Delta in the past.. and do not wish to fly them again.

My wife booked her flight with KAL for around 850.00 US. Flight from Manila- Seoul- Atl GA. I think it's the shortest of the routes. I flew it and liked it. KAL is a nice airline. She used an agent in Manila she knows. Got a great deal at the last minute. I just sent her the money.

Buying a ticket here in the states for her to use for a one way flight originating. in the Philippines is darn near impossible. I know some that have done it by going to the Airport and showing a I.D. then sending a copy of the credit card etc. To me it's just easier to send the money and be done with it.

Philippines2 Weeks Since Approval and Still NO Visa

No. There was not. She was deported for the I-129F expiration date and no other reason. I know this friend very well; he's not merely an Internet friend but a Filipino American (native born) who lives near me and whom I've traveled to/from the Philippines with before on trips. It is possible for people to do their jobs wrong and refuse to acknowledge that they are making a mistake when challenged on it. This is the case at the POE. I just hope it never happens again.

I-129F does not expire it is either approved or not. Sorry but your wrong or maybe you have the form name wrong. That would not be part of the packet for POE.
The Nature BoyMalePhilippines2012-02-15 10:55:00
Philippines2 Weeks Since Approval and Still NO Visa

At this point the I-129f is finished, done, kaput! The K-1 visa is the only document in play now. And you have 6 months after its issue to use it ( some have said 6 months after the medical not sure for fact) but my point is the only time requirements are those tied to the K-1 visa... Elvis has left the building in regards to the I-129f

By George your right I did not even catch that. How would the officers at the POE even know when the NOA2 was issued ?
The Nature BoyMalePhilippines2012-02-15 00:13:00
Philippines2 Weeks Since Approval and Still NO Visa

They are doing this on purpose. No one is this incompetent. I find this infuriating.

What's more, you have to be on the plane within 4 months of the NOA2, despite what the visa expiration says, or you can be denied at the POE. This happened to a friend of mine when his fiancee was entering Detroit 4 days after the petition expired. The people at the POE don't always understand the rules and know that the visa expiration date is the one that matters. If the printing takes 60 days, then my fiancee may not be able to get on the plane within 4 months of the NOA2 and will have to go back to the embassy to get the I-129F extended (if they'll even do that... it is an odd request when you already have the visa).

I am sure there has been some kind of misunderstanding. I have never heard of 60 days. About 7-10 working days is the norm.

PhilippinesI-134 for K-1 Visa- What Documentation is Needed

When I went to my then fiancee's interview last August, I had 2008, 2009, and 2010 Tax transcripts, employment letter, a few pay stubs. I did not bother with the
bank account since I exceeded the poverty guideline. Generally, bank accounts are used to supplement your financial status if you're just below or right at the
poverty guideline. They took the 2010 tax transcripts, employment letter, and remittance receipts. I was surprised the CO actually asked if i was sending her
money. So, the lesson here is be prepared. It wouldn't hurt to bring the savings account statement. I just wanted to share our experience with the US embassy.

Good luck!

What USEM accepted your Tax Transcripts. Surely you jest .:rofl::rofl::rofl:

PhilippinesK1 Interview- Affidavit of Support

If your interview is scheduled after April 17, I would recommend submitting tax returns and W-2's from 2010 and 2011, as well as current paycheck stubs. I would also include a tax transcript for 2010. An employer's letter would be good also.

Why would any sane individual submit a Tax transcript and return for the same year. They both contain the same info. You have spent the last three weeks of your life screaming that the USEM would not allow Tax Transcripts now your telling someone to submit them in addition to the 1040. If USEM does not recognize them then why bother ??? Dude you need to stop putting out this bad info to people. The process is stressful enough anyway, without people like you trying to confuse people with bad info.

I thought you said they don't need tax transcripts. I believe they do!

The Tax Transcript is a govt issued summary of all the information that was filled on your 1040. You can submit either or to the Embassy. If you have your 1040 submit it. If not order a copy of your transcript. It is an either or situation not a both. I don't know why he keeps saying that. .

PhilippinesK1 Interview- Affidavit of Support

Your interview is in March so they know you would not be able to get tax transcript for 2011 yet. 2010 would still be considered most recent. Therefore whatever you have for 2010 make sure you get the transcript as well. Make sure you explain that 2011 transcript is not yet available, unless you can get it... then do so. Do not forget W2's for both 2010 & 2011.

You don't need the transcript and the copy of the return . It's either or. They both have the same information. You already have your 2010 1040. I would get transcripts from 2009 2008 for backup.

PhilippinesK1 Manila Interview: Tax transcripts or Tax return 1040
[quote name='Tahoma' timestamp='1328692026' post='5146153']
Yet again, you are spreading misinformation. You know very well that Stangman was not asked to submit 2011 tax return. The MNL-IV-22 (221g) the CO gave him specifically required him to submit a 2010 tax return, and you know that he decided on his own to submit a 2011 tax return. You also know that they didn't even accept his transcript nor look at his income. So why are you spreading your misinformation? :bonk:

Here's exactly what Stangman said to you:

Snip"
Hre is the truth and what he said in his intial post--"
"""Stangman--Im concerned because I did not make enough in 2010, but I did in 2011. I just submitted my 2011 taxes and gave her both 2010 and 2011 Tax Return and W2s. Praying they will accept this now... "

He got put on hold because his 2010 Tax Transcipt showed he did not meet the basic requirements. He submitted a 134 with a 2010 transcipt that did not show he made the basic requirements for income.

These are the facts. So you are saying that if he had a actual 1040 that showed he made less than the minimum requirements he would have been fine.

PhilippinesK1 Manila Interview: Tax transcripts or Tax return 1040

Without entering the debate; here was our experience. We had the last two years of transcripts. We also included a letter from my employer and bank account info.

The Filipino interviewer looked at the transcripts and nothing else. We had no problem at all. This is in no way a guarantee of what will happen for you. Just giving you our experience.

Good luck.

I know. The majority of people use them. Some guy turned in a transcript that did not support the minimum guidelines, he claimed on his I-134, and that got morphed into he got turned down for having a transcript. Tahoma is like a liberal. PhilippinesK1 Manila Interview: Tax transcripts or Tax return 1040

Thank you all. I have employment letter showing $60, 000 a year. I also have 5 last pay stub and my W2 and 1040 of year 2009, 2010, 2011. I will submit these document and let you know if it worked. What I learned is that the CO want to see if you make above the poverty line. I learned that the most important document is the current employment document (employment letter, paystub and current W2) again thank you all for your input...

It will be fine. If there are no red flags it will be a short sweet interview.

PhilippinesK1 Manila Interview: Tax transcripts or Tax return 1040

Yet again, you are spreading misinformation. You know very well that Stangman was not asked to submit 2011 tax return. The MNL-IV-22 (221g) the CO gave him specifically required him to submit a 2010 tax return, and you know that he decided on his own to submit a 2011 tax return. You also know that they didn't even accept his transcript nor look at his income. So why are you spreading your misinformation? :bonk:

Here's exactly what Stangman said to you:

"Sorry, correct me if I'm wrong but were you there at the interview?"

"They didn't even look at the income, I stated that is my concern yes, but they didn't even look at it - the particular CO we had DID NOT ACCEPT THE TAX TRANSCRIPT OR MY W2. I provided 2007 to 2010 W2s and Tax Transcripts. Did I make a mistake? Yes, I should have included the Form 1040's, but actually I think my case was a special blessing in disguise."

"IF they denied based on income, then my 221g WOULD HAVE SAID SO. PERIOD. But it doesn't, it says 2010 W2 (which she had with her) and 2010 Income Tax Return needed. Why would they ask for the stuff if they know it wasn't sufficient?"

Plain and simple...you clearly the one doing the twisting...and you certainly don't understand the process, nor the English language for that matter.

And you left of the part in which he said he did not meet the basic requirements on his 2010 Income Tax Transcipt, but did on his 11. Geezh dude you can't be this dumb on purpose.

Folks if you take advice from Tahoma do it at your on risk

Please advise based on your experiences... Thanks

Topic of heated debate in the Philippine forum. Tax Transcripts are fine and I know many many who have used them. I am not aware of anyone who has ever been turned down for them. However the website for USEM does say Tax Return but by that, it is my opinion they also mean transcript.

Some guy Filled out his I-134, and claimed to meet the minimum guidelines, but his 2010 Tax Transcript did not support those figures. He got put on hold and was asked to furnish his 2011 tax return, to support his claim. Somehow that got twisted into he got denied for having a transcript instead of return by some that don't understand the process.
