I know it's been passed to Vermont & we've had an email about that, but that's all we know.

We're still very new to all this so we're trying to get our heads around the complexities!!

We received our NOA1 at 3am Monday morning Texas time via E-mail. USCIS have packed us of to the dreaded VSC!

Nevertheless! Can't wait for this process to get a move on so I can be with my Princess!

We got the NOA1 hard copy yesterday, our NOA1 date is January 18, 2011, and I added it to the timeline right away. Of course, I immediately checked online case status...and our number still isn't in the system :wacko:

Ashley and i are similar. After we met in May, i visited again in July and September, she came here only 3 weeks later in October then i went to Dallas for 2 weeks in DEcember and left 2 weeks ago, but she is here again in 4 weeks!! yay!
I visit again in april, her in June, me again in Aug! so hopefully by June we should have heard something i hope!!

We are both v lucky with our jobs tbh. She is an ICU nurse, so works 3 12hour night shifts a week, so when she visits here she can self schedule so she works the beginning of one week, has 3 nights holiday the next and then works late the week after, so we get 12 nights together. Whereas i have told my employer about filing the other day and they have agreed that i should be allowed whatever time off i want to make this happen. They have been soooo supportive! Basically saying that they know i will give 110 percent the time i am there so they would rather have me there till the day i leave, which is awesome.

I just wish we knew some sort of timeline on it, VSC is not giving me any hope right now. But i have it in my mind i will be in texas for thanksgiving... halloween if im lucky
I know vsc is slow right now but i am hoping what i am thiking is right in that they are getting the last of the TPS applications out the way, before totally concentrating on I129F's and clearing the backlog totally my spring i HOPE!!

Oh yes, I'm trying to hold on to that optimism too, that the TPS will be done with soon and then I-129F all the way. God I pray for that every day. Right now I'd even be happy to hear something after 5 months in the middle of June, and not 6 or even 7 months. I really hope VSC surprises us all :innocent:

I'm so happy someone else has some hope with me. I try to stay positive EVERYDAY!! I have a feeling when my fiance leaves (very soon) this process is going to be much more exausting knowing we are apart waiting to reunited. With kids and as a nurse its hard for me to leave to visit him in the netherlands. I have my own patients and there is noone to cover me for more then a few days. So we are going to be apart for most of this process. I'm sure its not an uncommon story but still I'm dreading it all together. Ok enough feeling sorry for myself just a few months......WE CAN DO THIS!!

I know exactly what you mean. I left from visiting my fiance two weeks ago, and it already feels like forever and we will only see each other once more for two weeks in March and after that we will be apart for 6 months until hopefully I can fly to the U.S. visa in hand. I can't even fathom not seeing him for that long. We have gone through long times apart like this, 5 months, 6 months, but since last August we've never been apart longer than 6-9 weeks. But hey, just knowing this will be the LAST time being apart for so many months, because after that we will go and be with our loved one for good! I try to remind myself of that and it usually makes me feel better :thumbs:

Hi I'm new here and we filed on January 15. I just stumbled on this site and upon reading your post, I just realized that I sent the wrong fee. I know for a fact that the Dallas lockbox had received our application because I checked it at the USPS website. it's now 5 days since they received it and I wanna know how long it will take them to send my application packet back so that I can send them the right amount of check. totally sucks to have gotten it wrong the first time :-(

also if we end up sending it back in February, does that make us February filers? I kinda like the vibe of the January filers!

Lately it's been taking them between 2-4 weeks to send a packet back from TX if there was something wrong, so I'd say just watch your mailbox and get ready to refile right away with the correct fee. :thumbs:

This is a great group!!!!

We just got the hardcopy of our NOA1 in the mail - at least that's what I think it is... it went to his mom's in Virgina then she has to forward it to me in Vancouver so it'll be a bit before I can actually see it first hand.

So is this the point where we wait the 5+ months before hearing anything more? Do we have to wait the 5+ months before hearing if we get an RFE? I am going to be going to Japan a few times before the end of summer but don't want to be away and miss anything I need to get done here. It would be nice to know the approx. timeline... highlight approximate.

Well looking at your timeline, the approximate adjudication date is between July 9-July 15, 2011. Based on recent statistics, that is. I'm trying to keep my shred of hope that things will pick up again :innocent:

And about the RFE, it looks like people on VJ got RFE's even across or somewhere close to their 5 months mark, but usually once the requested evidence was sent in, the NOA2 came not much long after. At least that was my impression from reading around in VJ threads...I'd say just get your evidence ready as soon as possible so you're ready for an RFE, if you get one, whenever

Yeah... I know how that is. When we first sent the package and I noticed the wrong fee I thought we would have to wait more than a month to send it again... , I was on vacations from work... I had such a hard time just getting out of bed that day. Hubby to be was my rock and told me it was all worth waiting for and that we had each other no matter what. I had to learn the hard way to trust that everything would be OK. Im just hopping I'm able to keep it up... cuz I tend to lose patience xD ! but so far so good!

I did get the online status thingylingy, but we had a "special attention" sheet cuz of the rejection. I am not sure if that helped though.

We are here for you... we are walking together, so no worries... if you obsess we'll help ya!

everyone is so nice and supportive, I feel much better about the upcoming months knowing there are others who are going through the same. And my hubby to be is the same, he always remains calm and all "it'll be fine" whereas I get worried and stressed out. And patience is not one of my virtues either :innocent:

Hm, maybe that's the reason why they put your number into the online system faster. Good point. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Oh that makes me feel so much better, seeing as we have an identical timeline

I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you worry more. I'm sure it just takes a few days to get in their system and the initial letter does say to wait till you get the hardcopy so I'm pretty confident you will be able to check soon like everyone else from VSC. At least I hope I'm right.

If they only knew what we go through over the simplest of things they would definitely put it in their systems asap. haha

Congrats on your notification . But about the service center, I dont have much to say on that. I am a bit surprised you can't check your case status yet (considering other that filed this month have been able to) but maybe in a few days you will be able to. I'm not expecting that I will be able to check mine any time soon. But I seem to hope for the best and check about every 2 days anyhow. I will hope with you though and just maybe someone will do the unexpected and surprise us both.

Thats a great idea....although I'm not to good with all the computer stuff. So it may take me a while to figure out how to do things on here or any where else.
If computers were people I would do just fine. haha Thats why I love my job and it only requires minimal computer work.

Would you mind explaining some questions I might have in the future on how to navigate through this site? I think I have done alright but still figuring it out day by day.

Oh...we were sent to CSC also. I'm not liking the fact that we can't check on our status either. Wish CSC would do the same as VSC. Then we could see when we have been touched too. Its already going to be a long wait but not knowing anything or having anyway to check just sucks!!! Oh well, I'll keep hoping for fast results.

Hm, did you send the petition to the right address? And did you include the E-notification form? If not then you might get your NOA1 hardcopy any day now.

Hey guys.
I was fiddling around with some other ways of keeping track of our user list and making it more friendly for everyone to update. What I came up with is using a shared googledocument that anyone who has access to the link can edit. (I'll moderate it for now so that no one screws with our data too much).

I'd love to embed the page into a message, but that functionality doesn't seem possible and probably for very good reasons (security wise). So it would have to stay as an outside link if we decide to go to this format instead of in-message.

Take a look at it and see if you'd rather have this, or just the in-message list we're using now.

Oh wow... I do not know! Haha.. I read somewhere about Europe paper being larger and people cutting it to resize it, but I havnt seen anything about a smaller paper than our "normal" paper. (Guatemala has the same size paper as the USA LOL).

I don't know what I'd do without this forum, it's my lifeline these day, haha. I do hope we get a NOA1 soon but if not, that at least we'll get the packet back next week...I want to remain a January filer. I got comfortable in this thread :lol:

One thing that I noticed though is that my fiance's printing paper is a tad, but noticeably, larger than the regular printing paper we have here in Germany. Do you think it will be a problem if all pages of the petition are one size but my G-325A is a bit smaller? :hehe:

A wrong fee is something that is noticed at the Texas lock box intake. That is one of the criteria for rejection. They look at the check and the I-129F. Texas does not review the rest of your petition, therefor would not review your G-325A. That is something USCIS would send an RFE for, not rejection. They may accept scanned signature, and for your sake, I hope they do On the other hand, I've read numerous people getting RFE'd for scanned signatures. It really all depends, I guess. I would just use caution in depending on an outdated memo.

But another January filer got her package back before receiving an E-notification, no check was cashed, no NOA1 and it was sent back due to something missing on the form I-129F Part B, Address. So I figured it hadn't even been sent to a service center yet...

I think I will just print out a new G-325A, sign it and send it out this week via express mail to my fiance. So IF we get our petition back next week or the week after at the latest, he'll already have it and can refile right away.

You abbreviated and they understood because you're from the states. She abbreviated an abroad adress. But lets hope she doesnt get rejected!

I really hope that's not the case for you guys.
Mostly, all you can do is wait and see.
It looks like it's taking about two weeks for them to send the packet back.

What you can do is just know what your mistake was, and be ready to fix it and turn it back around in the mail as soon as you get a hold of it.

Mid-Ocean,

One copy for you, one copy for your beneficiary and one copy sent to USCIS Dallas Lockbox. Make sure that that your Filed copy to USCIS has original signatures on the I-129F and related G-325A's. Everything else could be copies as USCIS will request originals if they desire. Hope this helps and any feedback from other members is most appreciated.

Hi and thank you. No I think I got that wrong. We sent the package to the Lockbox on the 11th - the cheque was cashed by the 14th and yesterday we got notification that the Lockbox sent it to Vermont, now we are waiting the 7 days for the notice from Vermont saying that they have received it, at least that is what I am understanding the timeline is.

Now I'm not sure if I should be sending all the back-up that this website is saying I should have included with the package??? I will be visiting my fiance in Japan at the end of February (he's there working for 3 months) and wondering if I should be bringing more forms for us to fill out and affidavits etc???

Ah, gotcha. I just checked your timeline and it showed the 17th for I-129F sent.

Sending in information now will not change anything, it will most likely just get lost and one should always wait to get an RFE which specifically requests more evidence before sending any documents in. You will most likely get an RFE as you should have provided Letters of Intent of both you and your fiancé(e), proof of citizenship of the USC, proof of having met in the past two years (boarding passes, hotel receipts, passport stamps etc.) and passport type photos of both beneficiary and petitioner attached to the biographical sheets. I thought these information are included on the official I-129F instructions that USCIS has on their website. Cover letter and photos are not strict requirements, but don't hurt either. I don't know what exactly you have provided with your petition, but if it was really only the I-129F form and two G-325A, you will definitely get an RFE. You don't really have a choice but to sit it out and wait

and of course prepare all necessary documents to sent in right away after you get an RFE, read all the guides on the K1 you can find on this website

Hello!

I am filling out the DS-230 Form right now and have a question regarding item #35 "list dates of all previous visits to or residence in the United States. Give type of visa status. Give DHS "A" number if any.

So when listing all of my previous visits, which were all under the VWP, do I put the "A" number that was just now assigned to me on the NOA2, or do I write "N/A" as obviously I did not have an A-number on those previous visit?

Also, when listing visits from before 2009 before the Visa Waver Program was installed, what do I write in the "type of visa" box? None?
