K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Dear CSC, can you please get your SHhhh*t together	I am also an August filler and I am usually very impatient but knowing the government, I will be patient until late Jan. when my 5 months is up. It is just frustrating to see that VSC is now more then a week ahead of CSC for k-1 visas and yesterday, Igor's list stated July 20 processing and today July 19..I was shocked and this is not what I wanted to see. I do think it is just the allocation of personnel though as k-3 visas are more then a month ahead. You don't need to submit anything prior to the interview like it used to be a couple of years ago... and the $350 is payed the same day, in window 14 Thanks for the info. This is how I thought it was but really got confused when sent to the Peru embassy web page. I thought that we did not pay for the visa now at the embassy but had to use the State Dept web page also I thought that only packet4 was used for Peru. Do they now require packet 3 and 4 and is it still possible to pay at the embassy? Which dr did you use for the medical? I think that a letter to your congressman and senators describing the interview might shock them and maybe have them ask the State Dept why? That being said, I have heard that the consulate in Ecuador is unusually tough. Congrats on passing and hope that you both have a long and happy life together. I guess you can consider yourself as just 1 of the 10% that hasn't gotten approval yet. As long as your petition is filed proper;ly, all the forms and evidence is included and signed and there are no ted flags, you will get approved. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	PERU K-1 VISA approved	Gee, where to start? I guess I will start on Friday a full 3 days before the interview. I had been in Lima for a few days and we decided to go over all the documents to make sure that all was prepared properly. We ( fiancee and myself) decided that we needed to clarify some of the info on 1 of the forms so Saturday, we went to a near-by internet cafe and filled out the form online and then printed it in duplicate. We had duplicates for all the needed forms now. On Sunday we checked everything again and made sure the alarm on 2 clocks were set to go off on Monday at 6AM for our 8:45 interview. We stay in an apartment in Miraflores and wanted to make sure we had enough time to get a shower and a bite to eat and to be at the embassy around 7:30. We placed the briefcase with all the documents on the table so as not to forget it. Of course, neither of us slept much this night and I woke up around 4AM and I think Patricia slept only off and on all night.We had NO problem getting out of the apartment at 7 and arriving at the embassy around 7:25 nd saw about 50-60 people already there. After waiting in line about 10 minutes Patricia overheard someone say something about the medical envelope, it is at this time she realized that we had forgotten the envelope at the apartment. NOW, we are in a panic. It was left in a closet with the clothes we would wear to the embassy so as not to forget and as you can guess, we FORGOT and the bad part, we didn't even notice this big white envelop in the closet next to both of our clothes. After finding a world class taxi driver he managed to get us to the apartment and back in just a little over an hour in rush hour, God bless him!! We entered the embassy a little after 8:45 and waited for 15 minutes or so and was called to window 12 and gave all documents and medical envelope to the charming lady and then was told to go to window 14 to pay for the visa fee of $350. After about 30 minutes, we were called back to window 12 and Patricia was asked a few questions and then told to wait. After about a 2 hour wait, her name was called to door 15, this was for the interview. The man there was young and in good spirits, we chit chatted a litle, then he swore Patricia in, he asked her how we met and how long ago. He asked her if she was ever married and ever in the USA, more chit chat and questions about when and where I proposed and how I proposed, after this he said, you are approved and we both let out a big sigh and hugged each other. We were told the visa should be finalized at the embassy today and sent out by DHL to Callao ( main DHL office in Lima) then sent out to the office we chose for pick-up and was told that it should be there in 7-8 days. I am hoping to have my love here with me by next Thursday if all goes well. All in all, it was a rather emotional day but the experience at the embassy was very positive. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Airline madness!	I haven't persoanlly flown on Spirit but, I have not heard anything bad about them. Only negative is they charge for all extras. If you can find that fare on Orbitz thru Aeromexico, that sounds like a good price also. I looked a few months ago from Cleveland to Lima and the cheapest by far was Spirit. The closest flights are going into Vegas.... I could go there.... Well, we'll see. I agree buying a round trip ticket could be risky so I may decide against that risk. Thank you all for your advice, it's given me some perspective. I'm glad the process is finally almost complete, but strangely enough this small conundrum has caused me more stress than any other part of the process.... Her and I will discuss it over the weekend and we'll try and come to a conclusion. We'll take all of your recommendations into consideration, thanks again! Brian, my fiancee is also from Peru. I have a line on some great apartments in Miraflores that are reasonable, if you need a place to stay. I work for a differnt airline co. and usually fly on them but, I always keep the Spirit number with me. From what I have seen, they are always the cheapest if you are a little flexible. Be patient, if you noticed, there are more petitions in June and July then most other months. I know the wait is difficult but, I am sure you should see some action soon. You never know when there is weather ( bad fog for LAX) or even a delay from departure city. Now, I would think anoything over 2 1/2 hours SHOULD be enough time to connect.
