I hope i'm not asking too much. merry xmas Hi Oyinda, you need to know everything about your spouse in the US bcos u will be asked questions at random about him/her. So if there is anything you are not sure of or dont know i suggest u find out now before your interview. Also, you MUST have evidence/proof of relationship/communication, emails, chat logs, phone logs, pics, letters and the likes and it MUST cover the h them and period before the wedding(while dating). Funny enough the interviewer may not actually ask for all of this bcos all cases are not the same but dont go for the interview without them, trust me, you are beta off going wit them and they do not ask. A friend of mine was also asked to bring phone records and emails. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	I-129F Approved- CSC	Such a wonderful Monday for my sweetheart and me. We received our NOA2 today. Thank you Lord. To those who are waiting for their NOA2, I hope you also get approved as early as possible so everybody is happy. wow.. a mega congratulations you both...am sure happy for you. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Thank The Almight God - NOA2 is here	Last night i received a text saying that my status has been updated and i should check the website. I was dreading that it might be an RFE. Opeing my account even though was less than a minute, it felt like it was ten years. To my suprise it was post decision activity. I could not believe my eyes. I had to read it three times to really understand it. Thanks to all of you with valuable information and to those aiting, i pray that yours come very quickly. we are all one family. Thanks every one that helped in posting here. I had sen a lawyer and initial consultation was $100 for less than 30 minutes. I was told that i needed volumes of papers to convince the USCIS anf that with a lawyer they will be more attentive and even get faster approval. This site taught me that thats not true. We did it. I have realised that no attorney was taught how to complete immigration forms in law school. A good paralegal is even more effective in these cases than an attorney. Thank God. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Starting to loose my control now!	Dear VJers, I just wanted to share my feelings with the people who are in the same process as I am. My fiance and I started the K1 process in February. We got our NOA1 on the 5th of March and we passed the 5 months already. I'm starting to loose my hope a little! I know they are busy with it, but all this waiting and waiting and hoping for the 5 months to pass and now I just don't know what date to look forward to anymore. It's just hard to miss my fiance, I'm almost so desperate to buy a ticket to the States and share just a week with my fiance. But actually we can't afford it right now. I'm just a little disappointed and I hope that there are people who I can share my feelings with. Thanks.. Hello My fiance and I also started our process in February, we received our NOA 1 on March 7th. He called the VSC last week and some lady that wasn't so helpful picked and told him they were still working on January filers, he got so upset that he hung up the phone.I tried explaining to him that the information on VJ is contrary and quite encouraging and hopeful. Hello VJers I got approved(NOA2) on the 17th of September and about 3 days later my fiance got a the hard copy mail informing him our case has been forwarded to the beneficiary's consulate. My question is ...is it possible for my papers to have been forwarded straight to my consulate without going through the NVC? Yes, but he will have to list his wife when it asks about sponsoring someone else and he will need to have enough income to cover all of you. So that is a household of 4 plus any children that may be involved. Best luck to you. Thank you for ur response. That would be four of us actually. Is he supposed to write a letter he will include to his tax records listing his wife as a dependent or is d question included in d forms he has to fill? Hello vjers, FOLLOW UP QUESTION My fiance is currently not working because he is rounding off his degree at the university so we decided to ask his dad to co-sponsor us. He agreed. Now my question is this, his dad petitioned for his fiancee last year and she was granted her visa in March of this year 2012, she is currently married to him in the states. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	At NVC...is it possible?	Dear VJers, My fiance and I filed in February 2012 though we received our NOA1 on March 7th. When i spoke with him today he told me he was on the phone with USCIS yesterday night and was told our case is at the NVC in vermont . My question is, is that even possible? Could there be any red flags? My Fiance called them on their call center numbers to find out what the RFE was for and how to go about replying it, only to be told he has to wait for 15 days to receive a formal mail from them before replying. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	.requirements for interview	No but the co-sponsor has to be willing to give u very sensitive documents and be willing to sponsor u even if the marriage ends in divorce. Bc they will co-sponsor u with the I-134 affidavit of support and then again here during AOS where they would be signing a document saying they are sponsoring you so you will not become a burden for the USA. Thank u. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Extra Evidence and Photo-books for NVC	actually, when you send the DS-230 in, you must submit original documents and copies, they will return the originals at interview. I'm not sure if you were referring to me or the op. but I've done my interview. So no need to tell me what happens there. I do know that I had to give them a copy of my marriage and birth certificate. Can't tell if the lawyer put photocopies initially when he submitted the packet. But if you carefully read the preparation for immigrant visa interview abroad, it's clearly stated( perhaps for Nigeria, perhaps not). Here I quote directly. "Do I need to bring copies of the originals submitted to the NVC? If photocopies of original documents were not provided to the NVC with the original submission, they should be presented during the visa interview so that the original documents may be returned to you." . IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Extra Evidence and Photo-books for NVC	It seems that people send things that are not asked for, ie: mostly photos. The DS230 asks for original documents and if you want them back at the interview also send a copy. The only photos asked for are 2x2 passport style photos. Save your photos for the interview. Think about it the people doing the DS230 see photos that are not asked for and just throw them in the trash, you are wasting your time and money and their time seeing they do hundreds of documents each week. Seeing that the DS230 asks for a small amount of paper work and documents just put everything in a folder with a plastic slide on the side to keep everything in order. Save you ten pounds of pictures for the interview. Not exactly true. I totally agree with onye uwaoma. My pictures even though they were not in an album, but neatly glued to a paper by our lawyer was sent to the NVC with the DS 230. The NVC forwareded the pictures and everything to Lagos embassy. They were mostly church wedding and traditional wedding pictures. At the interview the CO didn't even ask for extra evidence but made use of those preciously submitted pictures. My original documents were intact, no file holes or anything. Just make sure to make copies of the original documents for them, either now or when going for the interview. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	i was denied the visa at the lagos embassy in Nigeria.	Those classes are not unique to Nigeria. My father, a retired university professor in the US has never used a computer and never will. The books he has written are done long hand. My mother still cannot attach photos to her e-mails while my wife from SEA with only a minimal education knows heaps more about computers than I ever will and schools me regualrly on stuff. My comment was based more on the fact the story seemed like nonsense that based on the fact his fiancee could get on MSN but not yahoo the OP had a friend help register "his" account on msn so when the CO checked into the e-mail address it came back to someone else's name. That sounds more than a little fishy to me. I agree with you. My own email address on yahoo was set up by my sister. I had never any use for the Internet or even an email address until I met my husband. So, when he asked me to open an email account so we could chat, preferably yahoo. I called my sister and asked her to help out and she used MY NAME. And thanks to my husband i became computer literate in a hurry as we became more innovative in our communication.
