So it is pretty easy to reshedule ... that's great !
It is those mid-july original bookers , now interviewing in April , that gave me renewed hope ;)

In January and February, I had only heard one or two mentions of earlier dates being available, so I was hoping, but not really expecting anything - throughout the second half of March, the dates moved around a whole lot! The weird thing is that when I log in now, the system tells me there are no dates available according to my purposes. Hehe, maybe I've run out of rescheduling tries? It's probably just a glitch for now, but I changed my interview date 5 times... it's not really a big deal and there's no one you need to contact to confirm. I got one cancellation email and one interview scheduled email for each change I made.

Keep hoping! And let's send concilliatory, friendly, happy thoughts to the States so they can get a new budget in place ASAP!

I called the Department of State nearly every day asking for an update about my case, hoping they'd say something about Packet three. I bookmarked this handy page, and it hasn't led me astray yet ;)

Don't wait for any mail (though you do need either Packet 3 or 4 to bring to the medical with you) - my Packet 4 came after my Packet 3 though Packet 3 was dated 2 weeks earlier!

Hmm, I didn't use DHL to send my stuff to Montreal, but I did use the Place d'Youville address. Also, the K1 is *technically* a non-immigrant visa but the Immigrant Visa Unit is who I sent it to, now that I think about it...

Good luck with your paperwork!

So... I just got Packet 3 in the mail today... Packet 4 arrived 3 days ago...

VJ friends: thank you for helping me beat Montreal's inefficiencies!

Personally, I listed all overnight stays on a separate page (I think there were 9 or 10 since I got my passport... maybe 12? Then underneath I wrote, "** also numerous day trips since xxyyzz for shopping, concerts, and dinners lasting no longer than 12 hours".

Also, I got Packet 4 in the mail today! Hurray?

I did the same - 50 year stay, and intended date of travel, sometime in July.

Good luck!

I would say it's about time you called the DoS and asked them whether Packet 4 has been sent yet...

I sent mine XpressPost to the Place d'Youville drive and it was not signed for, just tracked.

We received an e-copy of the P3 after our lawyer bothered them for it, and it said to use the DHL location you want your passport to go to, but I'd sent it long before I got these instructions. It looks like it doesn't seem to make much difference though. There's some speculation that the Place d'Youville drive is the mail room and the rue Saint Alexandre is the physical office but who knows.

I sure did!!

The DoS never told me P3 had been received, only that P4 had been sent. I asked the girl several times, "so they've sent Packet 4? So I'm allowed to book an interview? When did they send Packet 4?" Keep checking in!

All this week, interview appointments have been offered for the middle of July only, but this morning, nearly all of April was available to choose from. I don't know if this is at all unusual, but those of you waiting on Montreal, don't lose hope!!

You can hold on to the pictures. I know one of the forms says, "Please attach the following when submitting..." - birth certificate, divorce certificates, passport pictures, evidence of engagement (whatever that means) - but you don't have to submit any of that - just check off what you have in originals on the checklist, and send the forms and the checklist.

Get lots of passport pictures - you need 3 for the medical and 2 for the interview.

Yes, definitely send all the forms as per this link: http://montreal.usco...ument=visa_pkt3

You don't need to mail in the 'additional evidence'. Bring the pictures and everything else with you to the interview.

My Packet 3 stuff was tracked as "delivered" on March 10th so it really can't be much longer!

Well, I've booked my interview! It's too far away but it will do! Now to lurk in wait for a better date...

**I posted this excellent news elsewhere outside the Canada forum, but then I thought timeline information might also be useful in this thread?

We changed my address with the USCIS in December, received written confirmation of the change, and my mail from the consulate is still addressed to my old address. I've recently emailed Montreal to request they change my address, but I paid to have my mail forwarded, and will probably pay again to extend the length of time for that.

I wouldn't count on wrapping up your dealings with Montreal before the end of April, in any case.

We'll do our best (we've got some extremely helpful members around here!)

Firstly, it sounds like your fiance is the Canadian?

1. The DOS is the Department of State - you can call them with your new case number after your petition goes through the NVC (the National Visa Center), and they can tell you whether anything has been sent to you or received by the consulate. Some agents are more helpful than others, but it's nice to have a place to go for updates. This is their number: 202 663-1225

2. You book the interview through this website: https://usvisa-info....lfservice/login - the CSC visa information website. I guess it's down this minute, but the Canadian should sign up with his passport, etc after his Packet 3 documents have been submitted (though you may not book an interview until Packet 4 has been sent to you).

3. He does not need to submit anything else besides what's listed on that site to the consulate in Montreal, anyway (I haven't read much about Vancouver lately). When he submits the checklist, and all the DSXXX forms, he should check off all the other paperwork he has originals of (the certificates and pictures) as a sort of declaration that those documents will be turned over at the interview. We do not need to attach the paperwork to the form as requested.

Well, I for one, DID include colour copies of both sides of my Record of Landing and Permanent Resident card, along with every page of my passport with our I129f petition, but I am assuming it is a policy issue - "not a citizen? Request proof of status".

I'm assuming (again...sorry) that this Proof of Status business is only for non-citizens?
