K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVSC rfe response so slow...

So I had an RFE back in 4/16/12 I responded on 4/18/12 and they confirmed receiving on 4/23/12 (rfe response review).
It has been over a month now (37 days to be exact) and still haven't heard anything from VSC.
Is VSC just slower in responding RFE? Do they go by different policy?
I understand they have up to 60 days but I see people with RFE on CSC getting approved within days...

This is really starting to get me frustrated...

I am feeling your pain, in similar boat, except our RFE was 7 May and response 15 May. Our RFE was not something we did, it was an assumption we sent translations of docs instead of original, which we did not! We were expecting a quick decision after that but are still waiting too, though not as long as you guys, yet!..........

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 visa

Hello all,

I applied form 129F for my fiance back in February of this year. I was initially told that the process would take 4-6 for completion. Well, we are still waiting for the Decision to be processed so that 4-6 month window is definitely not valid and this has caused us to delay our wedding plans from this year to next year, primary because of all the planning that has to be done because its an ethnic wedding. Now my question is that, is it possibly for my fiance to visit the US while the paperwork is in process? She is a citizen of Germany and per the travel rules into the US, Germany participate in the Visa Waiver Program, so no visa is required. I just don't want her to visit and at the airport any problems are given since our paperwork is pending. Any thoughts, recommendations are most helpful.

Thanks in advance,
TK

Hey TK.

Well 1st you are still well inside normal processing times, the average for VSC is 5 months, however it seems that VSC are on a go slow at the moment. Most of the couples who filed in Jan are still waiting to hear anything and lots of them are now over 5mths. Your VJ timeline estimates between June 21 and July 1 for your NOA2, it could take longer now if VSC is so far behind. It is all a waiting game and requires all the patience you can muster!!. So hang in there and keep an eye on updates from the Jan filers.

Regarding the VWP and visiting the USA, i did it in March( from Ireland) with no issues and we filed our 129f in Jan. I guess it may be different for each person or each country but as long as your fiancee can show ties to Germany(letter from work, rent agreement etc) and that she will return then all should be ok, it is possible that they may ask a few more questions at the POE. I did not get asked anything other than the normal, how long was i staying, business or pleasure and what was my return date. Tip....check and see if there is a sub forum here for Feb filers and check they Germany portal for info.....Good Luck!Posted Image

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNVC Case Number (Stupid Question)

I'm just off the phone with a woman at the NVC (after having been put on hold for nearly half an hour) I have learned that my petition was mailed off to Dublin on Friday, (YAY!) but I stupidly forgot to ask for a case number. (I assume I have one, since the petition has already been forwarded.)

So my question is ... what exactly do I need the NVC case number for, if anything? Do I have to call back and get it, or is it not really important?

Sorry - this is probably a stupid question ... I just don't want to wait around another half an hour waiting for someone to answer my call if I don't have to. Thanks guys! :)

Hi,

We just received our case number today from NVC, they told us they will send a letter to the petitioner saying it has been sent to the embassy, and i assume that will include the case num. we did get ours over the phone, Irish ones begin DBL2012XXXXXX, you would need this if you need to email the embassy, however Dublin does not allow you to call and schedule your interview they will send you Package 3 and when you send back the letter of readiness (case number required on that) they will then send you a date. I agree you should call back if you have not already and get it, better to have it than not....just in case!!|! Best of Luck, keep us posted on progress........Posted Image

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHas anyone been approved by Vermont??
We filed on Jan 30th, and approved July 2nd, with an RFE in May. Just got pack 3 from Dublin on Friday last and returned it today!
VSC were way behind with Jan filers and it could have a knock on affect on other months, some of our jan family are still waiting!!

Cheers Mel. it is good to have it done and dusted!! and without any problems, i wrote my review so you can check at out maybe it will be of some help to you guys.
Ray should have pack 3 this week.......

Can't wait to hear you, Ray, Sabi and Terry are approved.

I was looking over the AOS stage and docs and God it is nearly as much paper work to do again not to mention the cost, wow, and in my case that is multiplied by 2, this is a very expensive journey, but worth it!!

Hey Melissa

So glad it was something simple and you got it back asap....next step NOA2!! We got our case No today, seemingly there is a backlog in NVC too, and they had ours but only scanned it in today, ay ay ay!!! But at least they have it now and i hope it leaves for Dublin by the weekend. I will keep you updated as we go........

Hey guys,

Just joining in the Irish thread......I called Blackrock about the medical as i too had mine done in April pre NOA2 and they told me it is valid for 1 year, which is a relief!! I got my police clearance done in May thinking i would have an interview date by now it is on valid for 6 mths, Tommy called NVC yesterday(again!!!) about our case number to be told that it wont be 15 days til next tuesday, they do not count the date NOA2 is issued and of course we had July 4th in there also. So while we have our NOA2 we are still waiting just on a different stage. I now don't think we will have our interview before Sept.

Regarding packet 3 to my knowledge it is only sent to your fiance here in Ireland at the address you supplied, so if he is in the States when it arrives then you would have to get it mailed over as i think the notice of readiness needs to be signed by him, not sure if it would raise a red flag it you mailed it back from the US, hard to say and to get correct answers around this. However your fiance is allowed to visit while case is pending, though i think once NOA2 is issued they are a little more sticky at POE than when you travel with NOA1, go figure, huh!
