Is this going to be a problem? ALSO!! Do you need to send in copied of passport and birth certificate? I cant see where it says that on the instructions, but I see some people on here send it in anyway. Thanks for your help!! They are looking for commingled finances and evidence of a normal life together - for example a joint bank account, credit card, utility bill in both names, phone, etc. tax returns especially (filed jointly), from as far back as you have them. I recall we sent copies of our driver’s licenses’ since they are both show the same address. You can use medical cards, other insurance etc. If the instructions don’t ask for a birth certification and passport it’s not needed. How long does it take to get the NOA at the moment??? I'd wait for the tax transcripts, especially since you only have one year of tax returns to send in now. I would not (and did not) blank out the numbers on our docs. I recall someone here getting an RFE for blanking out the numbers on their bank statements. My question is the following: If we have signed up for email notifications on USCIS website, do we get an email notification from USCIS when an RFE occurs? Or do they only send the RFE notification via snail mail? I am nervous that I will get an RFE request via snail mail and it will get lost without me even knowing it. Thank you very much for your help! I'm not sure what the problem is but I didn't get email notification this time when Richard was approved and other folks here are reporting the same. The approval was updated online and he did get a snail mail letter before the green card arrived. I am so anxious since my green card is already expires and my extension letter is only good for another month. What should I do now? I heard I can make an appointment for the local USCIS office to have my passpart stamp but I don't know what is the process. Can I just drop in the local office ( but I'm sure I can't!!!! because the guard is asking for appointment letter everytime I went there )? Or if I need to make appointment how can I do it?! I need help pls! It's my understanding the NOA extends your Green Card for a year. It's not a year from the date on the letter. It was something that confused me as well. We were blessed not to have to find out, because the 10 year card came before even the letter date...Maybe someone here will confirm what I was told. What a relief it is! We filed on October 3, never got the NOA, got the RFE (Dec. 10), but were fortunate enough to finally get the approval e-mail today. My timeline is below: Oct. 3, 2007--filed with NSC; transferred to CSC Nov. 13, 2007--biometrics Dec. 10, 2007--RFE Jan. 10, 2007--response to RFE received by USCIS Jan, 24--card production ordered. For those of you interested in our evidence, you can see the list of what we sent originally if you look at my earlier posts. The RFE we received was not specific--pretty much listed everything, without checking any particular box. The list of what we sent in response follows: I. Proof of Joint Residence: • Three joint leases 2005-08; • Mail addressed to both [husband] and [wife]. Also included are our respective pay stubs; • Mail addressed to [husband] or [wife] separately. The assortment included correspondences from work, official agencies, magazine subscriptions, a video rental place envelopes, and simply junk mail. II. Auto-Related Documents: • Title to [car] in both our names; • Registration to [car] in both our names; • Insurance for two vehicles, including Certificates of Insurance and the last annual policy declaration; • Car Repair Bill in both names. III. Health Insurance • Official verification from [husband's] employer that [wife] was added to his policy as of the date of our marriage; • Multiple Explanation of Benefits statements spanning over the past two years. IV. Other Insurance Policies • Rental insurance for our apartment—two policy declaration statements 2006-2008 • Life Insurance policies with [husband] and [wife] designated as primary beneficiary of each other's policy; • Personal Articles insurance declaration for a wedding ring. V. Banking and Finances • Verification from the [bank] that [wife] was added to [husband's] checking account in May of 2005, and has been a joint owner since. Please note that [husband's] earnings are deposited into this account. [Wife] currently attends school full time; • Assortment of statements from the account from 2005, 2006, and 2007; • Statement of a recently-opened joint CD account; • Copies of credit cards to the same accounts issued in [husband] and [wife’s] respective names. Enclosed are cards to Sears, Banana Republic and Bank of America credit accounts, with documents showing their active use; • Verification that [husband] is a beneficiary for [wife]’s savings account at [another bank] and a statement of the account; • Verification that [husband andwife] have a joint safe deposit box. VI. Taxes • Official IRS transcripts of our taxes filed jointly as a married couple—for years 2004, 2005 and 2006. VII. Bills: • Recent Verizon Wireless bills indicating we are on a Family Share plan. The last month’s statement includes a breakdown of all calls and shows frequent calls we made to each other; • Consumers Energy statements over two years—first in [husband's] name only, then in joint names; • Comcast statements over two years—in [wife’s] name; • Joint AT&T telephone statements in 2005-2006; • Joint Sam’s Club cards. VIII. School-Related Documents • Wife's Transcript indicating she is in her last year of [professional school] and maintains [high] GPA; • Federal Student Aid Reports for this and last year, indicating [wife's] family status as “married” and showing husband's income as the only income in the family. IX. Family Activities • Two itineraries for trips to Las Vegas in December of 2005 and New York City in 2007. Included is the e-mail from husband’s mom to wife relating to the New York trip; • Tickets to a couple of shows we attended together; • Joint passes to a local gym. X. Affidavits and Pictures • Two affidavits from friends attesting to the genuine nature of our relationship; • Calendar with our pictures that we sent to wife’s family in [her home country]. My wife will be meeting me in India half way through the trip, so can bring my NOA1 with her). If it comes while you are away.....The I-797 that schedules your biometrics has a section toward the botton that states "Request for Rescheduling" you check to the box that asks to reschedule your appointment and mail a copy to the service center (address is on the form). I cancelled our appointment and now we wait again and save ourselves 5 hours round trip for a stamp. Phew! I'm glad you found it...this is just the sort of thing that always happened to me...so I went out and bought a small fire proof box from SamsClub (they sell them at Staples too) and put all the "important...I really can't afford to lose it" stuff on there.
