[color="#4B0082"]thanks zen den, pinakamasayang christmas nga namin ito. gamit ko pa lang ngayon ay manual breast pump.. parang 2 oz lang nakukuha ko. libre lang yan sa hospital kung saan ako nanganak hehe.. di ko alam kung enough ba yan or sobrang kulang. ang lakas pa namang uminom ng gatas ng baby ko. nakakatakot pag gutom.. tawag ko ay little barracuda at masakit magdede sa una... then later on ay tutulogan ka.. siguro she's good for 15-20 minutes then sleeping beauty na.

back to work ako after 8 weeks ng panganganak ko kaya kino-consider ko ding bumili ng electric pump. pero as of now na taong bahay muna ako for the baby ay kaya ko pa namang maya't maya ay mag-breastfeed.

by the way, mga sis.. pano pala mag-upload ng pix dito. syempre gusto ko ding makita nyo pic ng baby ko.. sensya na at wala na akong time mag-experiment. may photobucket ako, matagal na kaso palpak nung una kong na-try.

happy new year everyone! let's have a better 2011!

congrats magnolia! pinakamasayang christmas nyo ng husband mo this year! anyway, maganda rin may breastpump para pag madami kang gatas masave mo for later, tapos minsan kung lalabas kayo di mo sya kailangan i-feed in public. :)

by the way, hapi hapi nyu yir sa lahat ng pinay dito sa VJ!! :)

Self pay then yong insurance ko and we paid 267 a month then every visit namin we paid 10 $ as our co pay.

Update naman sa baby ko...he is walking now, and he is already eating table food...no more baby foods anymore. And in less than a month he will be 1 yr old na:) Talagang ang bilis ng panahon.

Hello mga mommies tanong ko lang sa mga nagbbreast feed dito, kasi plano ko ring mag breast feed kahit ayaw ng father in law ko kasi daw masisira ang boobs ko LOL at susuplayan daw nya kami ng formula for 1 year pero I don't care basta mag breast feed pa rin ako kasi gusto ko para naman sa baby ko yan eh, nag aalternate ba kayo ng formula while breastfeeding or sufficient ba talaga ang gatas natin for the baby or it depends? at saka yong Vitamin K need ba talaga yon after born ng baby or optional? God Bless mga mommies!!! :star:

good luck and god bless! :)

My little one got his 3 shots and 1 oral last wednesday, medyo ok naman sya di masyadong naging grumpy at maghapon lang namin syang binigyan ng pain reliever.

Natuwa kami kanina kasi nakita namin si Letcher na nakatihaya na from sleeping on his tummy. Dati rati kasi when I put him on his side to sleep kaya nyang tumaob tapos iiyak sya kapag nagising na sya kasi di sya makatihaya but today he was on his tummy sleeping tapos nakita nalang namin nakatihaya na sya. I started to put him on his side to sleep when he was colicy, I learned that from reading cures online.

Zenden - never ka bang nag pump since na nag start ka mag breastfeed? Ako i like pumping more than breastfeeding him kasi para makita ko kung gano kadami naiinom nyang milk from me. Medyo hastle din mag pump kasi you have to wash bottles and pumps all the time. Pero di naman ako madalas mag pump.

Kaibigan - Welcome to the club, buti naman at nakalampas kna sa paglilihi. Gaya ni eve di ko rin naranasan ang paglilihi, I never get sick.

Sweetdove - Thanks din sa fb. San ka pala sa makati nagwo work? Makati din ako nag work for 9 years before I get here kaya nakaka miss mag work. Kaya ikaw i enjoy mo yan depende nalang kung balak mo kagad mag work dito.

Halos lahat kasi eh baby stuff. Goodluck!

Happy - Kamusta ang pag do drawing nyo, wala parin bang nabubuo? hehe.

mrsartis - welcome to this thread and goodluck to your pregnancy.

Sheila - hhhhmmmm mukhang me balak ng sundan si JM ha. Kamusta pag aaral mo? Bakasyon na diba, me bakasyon karin ba?

Frosty condolence and have a safe trip back home.

At ipinagyayabang pa sa mga kakilala nya dito na "this is the most comfortable flip lops ever" daw.

Sana ako din tumagal ng ganyan, my little boy is 2 1/2 months now and I'm still breastfeeding. Meron ditong mommy na nag breastfeed until 18 months ba yun? I forgot her name.

Yup first time ko umuwi since dumating ako dito 3 yrs ago.

thanks in advance.

Today was my son's 9 month doctor's appointment. No shots until his first birthday (July 13, 2010). Everything was just a basic routine check up. They also do a hemoglobin test just to check if he has a good supply of iron in his blood and the result was very good. I was so proud with my son since he never cried when the nurse pricked his finger tip for blood sample. He now weighs 20 lbs. and 27 1/2 tall.

here is Ethan's latest video while playing with us...

Hello mga mommies,

I want to share this video. I was putting Zac to sleep one time (when he was 1 month and half old ) when I said I love you to him then I kinda heard him say "i love you". At first I didn't believed what he said because he is too young to say words like that so in short I ignored it. He did it again after few days so I immediately told it to my hubby and like me, he didn't believe it either. Few days after, I was talking to Zac while filming him when I said I love you to him and he said "i love you" to me Posted Image Actually I didn't realize that he said it again til I showed the video to my husband THEN that is the time that he believed it because it was caught on cam. Well, he did not really he said the word "i love you" clearly but he can sound it already Posted Image

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y44pV26IOpA

BTW, Zac is 3 months and a day now. Sorry for the late post kasi i tried to figure out pa on how to video cut eh. Posted Image

hello everyone! this is zen (zenden)

just wanted to show my matthew's first pic, before we left the hospital.

mag-4 weeks na sya this friday...

cs din ako katulad ng marami because of my height and flat pelvis

anyway, good luck and god bless to all mommies due this month!

hi,

congrats sayo...cute ng baby mo.

just wanna ask anong connection ng height sa cs delivery and flat pelvis too?

hello there! thank you!

Very exciting na talaga. I really hope for a normal delivery. And also for abundant breastmilk biggrin.gif

Talaga? all the way na nakahubad? I refused nga to have pap smear eh...pero this is it na kahit ayaw ko pa wala na akong magawa nito heheheeh. I just follow your advice na lang mag relax na lang. About my joint pain masakit pa rin especially pag ka gising sa umaga. Btw...Advance happy anniversarry sayo and your hubby smile.gif

We paid 15 for every visit kasama na ultrasound dyan and another 10 for the lab fees. And sabi samin $500 daw babayaran namin every day that we stayed in the hospital for the delivery plus si Baby cover for a month lang.

Eve - This year umabot ng 115 degrees.

All the way hubad ka na nga every visit mo sa OB dahil i-check nila cervix mo. Just try to relax para di masyado masakit at uncomfy. Minsan magbi-bleed ka after the IE.

How big is the baby? Post ka more pics ha?

Siguro may magagamit ka do'n. Just make sure na gagamitin mo before the expiration date. Yong baby bottles pala, meron coupons.

You still have 13 weeks to go. Hwag masyado mag-worry sa timbang. I'm pretty sure, mag-gain ka pa smile.gif

Wala siyang vitamins na tini-take. No'ng una gamit namin "advance early shield" 3 weeks after nag switch kami sa "isomil advance" (soy-based milk) kasi yong unang ginamit namin palagi syang gassy tapos parang lagi nagcho-choke at phlegmy yong throat nya. So far, ok naman sya ngayon sa soy-based. Kaso nga lang napakamahal ng Similac. Siguro hahanap kami ng mas mura do'n.

Nakakatawa naman pag si lola nagpapa-inom eh gusto nya biggrin.gif Did you try Good Start brand? Sabi ng sister-in-law ko, ok daw yon. Anong brand ginagamit nyo ngayon?

sweetpink - Laki ng baby mo at super cute and chubby smile.gif Sarap pisilin ng pisngi biggrin.gif Ilang lbs na sya?

marjo - Blue Cross din insurance namin. As far as I remember, no'ng unang ultrasound ko nag co-pay kami ng $15.

Good luck sa'yo.

Gracey - Do you want the coupons? Just give me your email para ma-forward ko.

thanks in advance! smile.gif

Yup I delivered the baby via C-section. Pumutok amniotic fluid ko na di namalayan, kasi the day (Sunday, Aug. 16) before I had the baby we went to the hospital because some amount of fluids came out from me, although di continuous. Kinunan ako ng sample and the lab test turned out negative. So umuwi kami after 2 hours of stay sa hospital. By then, nag-start na contractions ko and getting painful. I was hooked on the fetal monitor machine, and found out that the baby's heart rate ay sobrang mataas, hindi normal. The nurse thought na dehydrated ako, so, tinurukan ako ng IV fluid at uminom ng maraming tubig, pero, yong heart rate ng baby ganon pa rin. Besides, 1 cm dilated lang ako and 60% effaced. Not enough to have a normal delivery.

Sana normal delivery mo. Importante talaga mag-dilate fully to 10cm. Actually, months before the delivery, I have already prepared mentally about the possibility of C-section. So, no'ng nag decide ang OB na i-CS ako, I immediately accepted the idea.

thank you very very much for the info...at least alam ko na gagawin kung mangyari din sakin yun...although ayoko ma-csection, gaya ng sinabi mo mas magandang isama na sa plano para di na matagal ang desisyon.

If the OP has been on VJ for 9 months and had no idea about the CFO requirement then what was that time spent doing?

the OP became a member 9 months ago but it doesn't mean she was active in VJ the whole time, a lot of people are like that, and it's normal

PhilippinesDoes My Filipino Fiancé Really Need A Pre Departure Orientation Seminar?
QUOTE (perpetualbliss @ Dec 22 2009, 02:05 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I'm quite baffled by my new discovery here in VJ. I've been hearing/reading about this "CFO" and that there needs to be a "CFO sticker" on my fiancé's VISA/passport in order for him to be able to leave the Philippines. I thought once you have the VISA, that's it, you're ready to fly...

It's really frustrating because NOBODY at the Manila embassy told him that he needed to get one more thing taken cared of before he leaves. He didn't get instructions on his VISA how to get this CFO sticker - absolutely nothing. So I was wondering, is this really needed because they don't even STRESS that this is NEEDED. How are VISA holders supposed to know that they are REQUIRED go to this seminar?

If it helps, both my fiancé and I are Filipino, so I don't think he really needs a seminar on how to adjust to me because we have no cultural differences smile.gif Plus, I heard the interview is more intense than the actual VISA interview and that you have to pass that one too or they won't give you a sticker... WHAT? That's so absurd, why this (unnecessary) extra step when the US embassy already gave him a VISA?

this is the official site that would answer all your questions:

www.cfo.gov.ph/

CFO stands for Commission on Filipinos Overseas...it's not just for filipinas but for all citizens leaving the country either for work or immigration.

the USEM does not give any info that this is required because it's not their resposibility but the govt's

if your fiance had his medical, the info about needing a CFO seminar should have been given him after he passed his medical.

don't worry, it's nowhere near a visa interview...it's mainly to ensure those migrating for marriage know exactly what they're doing and are prepared for the cultural differences, among others.

good luck and god bless!

PhilippinesK2 VISA APPROVAL AFTER ST LUKE'S MEDICAL EXAM SAGA

Last Nov 16, 2009, my daughter, son and I went to St Luke's for our medical examinations. We arrived at 9am and it was smooth and orderly. By 4pm, we were informed that my son and I passed the medical examination while my daughter's chest x ray results showed that there was a nodule on her left lung.

It was like a deafening bomb that exploded right in front of us! I was shocked at first, but did'nt question the findings at all. The nurse told us that my daughter has to undergo sputum smear tests for the next 3 days. If the smear tests turns positive then my son and I will not be allowed to go for the interview which is scheduled Nov 23. In addition, if it turns positive, my daughter will be required to appear daily at St Luke's for the next six months for her medication.

For us who live in Mindanao, the possibility of her staying in Manila for six months while undergoing treatment means very very expensive. Add that to the anxiety and stress that we were going through at that moment.

For three mornings, we accompanied her to St. Luke's . She was wearing mask upon entering the premises and joined the other persons doing their sputum specimen production. It was gross and tough but no choice. What we had in mind at that time was that :an early detection and early treatment is for the best of everyone!

Three days later, her sputum smear tests turns negative. But it did not end there. The specimen needs to be subjected to culture tests for the next 2 months. We were told that if the culture test turns positive then, my daughter will be required to undergo the DOTS ( six months treatment). If negative, then she will be given a new schedule of interview.

My son and I were allowed to attend the interview and got our visas approved.

We waited for 2 months and called on Jan 18, 2010 (the scheduled date St Luke's told us to make the call). After making several attempts, we got in touch with St Luke's. We were informed that the culture tests turns negative. We were advised to report to St Luke's on Jan 20 and her interview is scheduled Jan 22 at 830am.

St Luke's did not offer any medical explanation on what was the nodule about. The vaccination was administered to her after requiring her to undergo another pregnancy test and requiring us to pay P495.

I accompanied my daughter to her interview. The pre screener just asked for the following:
1. Birth certificate
2. NBI clearance
3. Family pictures together. (the pre screener even asked for baptismal pictures but I had not brought one)Good thing, my fiance started visiting us since 2003 to 2010. For the 11 times that he visited us, like a family we have pictures together during the important occasions like Christmas, graduation, Proms, birthdays, children's activities in school and family trips and adventures together.
4. Affidavit of support ( I presented a photocopy of the affidavit of support I submitted last Nov)

The consulate officer who speaks tagalog fluently was impressed about the fact that my fiance visited us for 11 times. He asked the following questions:

1. Who is the petitioner?
2. What is his occupation?
2. How many children you have and their ages?
I answered "Two, daughter is 19 and son is 17"
3. Where is your son?why is he not with you ?
I answered "We already had our interview last Nov and got our visas.
4. Are you married to the father of the children?
I answered "We were married and we have an annulment."

The consul asked the following question from my daughter:

1. What is your name?age?
2. Why were you not able to attend the interview last Nov?
My daughter replied " I waited for the results of of the tests from St Luke's"
The consul said "Ok, let me take a look at your case". He went over the medical results.
3. Are you studying?
4. What are your plans when you arrive in the US?

He typed on his computer and then said "Congratulations, your visa is approved."

We got inside the premises of the US embassy at 710am and left at 12:30pm.

congratulations! a longer journey than you expected but it's all worth it!

PhilippinesI-94

Hi everyone, Erma will be coming here on Sunday Jan. 31st, we are so excited. We have been looking at the I-94 to be prepared, will they give that to her on the plane to fill out?

1)What is the admission number, the number at the top that looks like it would be 11 digits?

2)For number 7, it asks the flight number and airline, but in the instructions it says to put land if by entering by land, and enter sea if entering by sea? Does she just list the flight number and airline?

3)For city where visa was issued, she will enter Manila?

4)Number 8,For country where you live, she will enter Philippines, since she has been living there until now?

One last question, it says to fill out the arrival and departure record? She needs to fill out the departure too even though she is coming here to live?

We just want to make sure she understands everything and that all will go smoothly. Thanks for any replies.

God Bless!

James and Erma

the answers of the other members for nos. 1-4 are correct.

for your last question, the arrival-departure record is the i-94 and she doesn't need to fill out the departure part. she will keep that card stalpled in her passport and it will be detached when she leaves the US

PhilippinesAnyone accompany their spouse/GF to St. Luke's?

Just wondering if there was a problem with it? I havent read any experiences if the SO being allowed to accompany them to St. Luke's. I want to do this when I am with my wife next month before I leave...that way she wont have to be there alone or take her mom to the medical.

byt policy, they only allow those who are having the medical itself, but if you go in early, the security people would usually let you in, but if you in around noon when the place is crowded, they might not be as lenient.

PhilippinesNeed to get CENOMAR or not?

This is what she has.
Wouldn't the CEMAR be the same as her Marriage Certificate? Just that she now has one with the annotation...

Thanks,
Bruce

yes it is the cert of marriage. the only difference is it is the copy that will show on NSO paper (not the actual cert).

since she has been married before she won't be able to get a CENOMAR anymore (because it is a cert of non-marriage)

what you have now is fine. good lluck!

PhilippinesMARRIED!!!

My fiance (now, my hubby ^_^) and I got married in the civil court last week! :D :D Now our next step is to apply for my AOS and Advance Parole (we also would want to have a church wedding in the Philippines). I've been reading the steps here on the VJ site and they look more complicated than ever because of so many papers to file! Any suggestions on how to make these next steps easier for us as possible?

Thanks in advance! :)

congratulations! AOS is actually a lot less compalicated than your K1 petition so don't stress out.

good luck!

PhilippinesPNB ATM Accounts - Where's the money going?

Thought we'd post this to the group for comment. There's oft-repeated discussions regarding what's the best way to send money to the Phils, so we don't need to rehash this again. My question is to those who have availed of the various methods to direct deposit funds into an ATM peso account at a Philippine bank via any means (we use PNB Rapid Remit).

After my asawa arrived in the USA in April 2007, we had her father travel to the nearest big city with a PNB branch office (her family lives in the remote provinces) to open a peso ATM account. He needed to provide substantial documentataion to open this account. We think it is an ATM only account, but really are not sure. We make regular deposits to this account taking note of PNB's exchange rate vs the actual international exchange rate, which is usually a bit less. We also are assessed a small transaction fee on the front end, which is much less than the typical fees charged by WU. The money usually is available for use in Phils within 2-4 days.

Here's the problem. A family member travels to the ATM at the branch office to withdraw funds. They've been told not to withdraw the entire amount sent since that would result in account closure due to a low balance, so usually the amount withdrawn is around 200 pesos less than the deposit. They had expected that over time (nearly 3 years), there would be a growing balance. Recently we learned from them that it had not been growing at all. I've asked my asawa to inquire of her family if they had been saving any of the ATM receipts (not usually, I'm told), so we really don't have any basis for complaining when we go back to visit her place in March.

Does anyone know the following:
- Is there a monthly account maintenance fee for a PNB ATM account?
- Is there a minimum account balance required to avoid a low balance fee?
- Is there a transaction fee for the ATM withdrawal if a PNB ATM is used?
- Does the ATM withdrawal receipt have the account balance shown?
- Is it possible to get an account balance report at the ATM before the withdrawal?

I know they need to be lots more diligent about where the cash is going. I had been feeling pretty good about the experience, and now am wondering if it actually does make more sense to use another means of sending money. The hidden fees and costs seem to be negating any possible advantage. I can't call PNB to discuss the situation since it's not my account.

Thoughts anyone?

Thanks,

M&M

NO, there is no monthly acct maintenance FEE but minimum monthly balance must be maintained

if not, a monthly below-minimum balance fee is deducted
(and can actually deplete whatever is left in an account)

the last time i checked there is No fee for ATM withdrawal if same bank ATM is used

Depends on the ATM, some do some don't that's why a balance inquiry is best before every transaction

yes balance inquiry is the best receipt before any transaction, just in case a problem occurs

PhilippinesHow do you like your new American hometown?
QUOTE (luckymom @ Jun 16 2009, 09:04 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
My husband lives in a small community here in Rhode Island (which happened to be the smallest state of USA for some people who always ask me where is this located). My first stop in this area was Massachusetts last 2007. I met my husband (who's from here) so I moved in his house. I like the weather here now especially if I see rabbits, squirrels, cute chipmunks etc. I also like summer of course (which happens to be real hot like the Philippines) and of course fall (where the trees turned different colors). But I also like the place of my sister (Palmdale and Lancaster California). I guess I am the type of person who easily adjust to where I am. I hope all of you like your American hometown also.

hello, fellow pinay! i'm here in RI too! in which town are you? i like the weather here, not too much snow, unlike in other states, easy to get around. i would like to get in touch with other pinoys here. do you attend mass? where?
hope to hear from you!
