hello everyone.
just wanna know the requirements to bring on the day of medical exam under K1 at st. lukes...

i actually started my medical exam this morning...u should go there early kasi sobrang mahaba ung lines....just bring 4 pcs. 2x2 picture then put ur name at the back, ur letter from NVC or letter from the embassy that ur case was approved and u need also ur case # it should start MNL then u need 10,500 for the payment...dont forget to bring ur passport and black pen of course. dont forget u should knw the exact address and contact # of ur fiancee ...

first u signed the forms...bibigay lahat un ng guard...then fill it up then give ur # sa guard na incharge sa loob then next line for ur picture kasi magpipic ka pa dun sis. try 09233032590 if u want to know the details based on my own experience just this morning...but u know what it takes 2 days for u to take the med exam just like me i am required to go back tomorrow for my vaccinations then finish. i suggest u wear a flat shoes/slipper coz ang hirap sa loob sobrang dami ng tao...and if they instruct u to go to other floor dont be surprised of to many people just go straight ahead to the reception of every floor and give ur forms...dont waste any of ur time in standing and waiting for somebody to get ur forms u need to direct it immediately sis....basta if u want more details if u have time then call..

hello. i'm just curious about how st. luke's does vaccinations now...when you do it tomorrow, can you please ask if you're getting all vaccinations you should get (appropriate to your age) so that you don't have to pay for any when you come here.

just wondering because the vaccinations are part of what the 10,000++ fee but if they don't do all there it means they don't really provide all the services you should get for your money

i was told i got everything so more vaccinations here in the US but the truth is when I did my AOS, I was asked to do one more vaccination because it was not done in the phils.

thank you in advance!

Hello everyone. My fiance sent the k1 petition last May 05, 2009. He check his bank account and the check was encashed May 11. It's been 3 months and 3 weeks but we did not recieve the noa1 hard copy crying.gif crying.gif . We called uscis they said it's already sent last May. Our noa1 hard copy was lost but we dont know where unsure.gif . We ask our Application Receipt Number so we can check our case online but still error, it says case cannot be found at this time.
Do we need the noa1 hard copy on medical or interview? We request to resend the noa1 hard copy but uscis said it cannot be send again sad.gif
Hopefully this will not happen on our noa2 crying.gif

Hi,

The NOA1 becomes useless once you get your NOA2. Hopefully, your NOA1 will turn up somehow, but I wouldn't worry about it. I would, however, check that USCIS has your correct address.

Hope that helps. Good luck!

TiNa

oh it's just useless? thanks tina! we ask our mailing address and it's correct...

sort of useless because it's just an acknowledgment that they received your application. what's really important is your NOA2. still you should keep checking your case status online to make sure it doesn't say "case cannot be found at this time"

good luck and god bless!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsManila K1 wait times? Anyone know?
QUOTE (DainandVicky @ Nov 1 2009, 12:25 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
From the average processing time and Igor's list it looks like we're maybe 3 weeks from NOA2 approval, based on averages. We filed an I-129F, K1/ engaged/ not yet married.

I have a rare name, I'm hoping that will make my processing faster.

My question is, once it goes through NVC and gets to the Manila embassy, does anyone know how long it takes before they contact us with the MNL number and we can set our appointment date?

The Manila embassy website says 14 days for non-immigrant EXCLUDING K visas, 3-5 MONTHS for immigrant visas, but lists NO information about how long a K visa appointment takes, just an information that says we'll pay yet more money to make the phone call to set our appointment (big surprise!).

Anyone who has processed through Manila embassy, please reply.

Thanks!!!!

Dain

the site says it depends on the processing times set by uscis..sometimes it can be a matter of weeks, sometimes months.

this should give you an idea:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsone-way ticket and connecting flight
QUOTE (fPf_iMc @ Nov 24 2009, 03:18 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi guyz.. i really want to make sure about this one as I am confused. I am still waiting for my passport with visa so I am checking for some cheap tickets and travel agencies I can go. However, my mom is flying from Manila to Houston via Narita, Japan (JAL and Continental airlines) and she wants me to travel with her. Me and my fiance will meet there in Houston.

Anyway, does the K1 visa have restriction in entering a non-US territory? Will it cause a problem when I reach the Japan Airport if I will be getting the MNL-NRT-HOU flight? Since K1 is only a single-entry visa and that I will only be buying a one-way ticket...

Please share anything you know about this. Thanks so much.

you won't have a problem with that route for as long as you don't leave the airport while waiting for your connecting
flight.

if, however, you arrive in narita during the night and your flight is the next day, you will go through immigration and leave the airport (they close at night) and have to get into a hotel. the good news is they don't require a visa for entering japan and you're stamped a 3-day transit visa

something happened that made UAE put canada in the police clearance...anyway, you're right in holding on to what you have now but you should write the UAE and request for a correct police clearance since the mistake was theirs.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsPhils. Green Passport still valid for U.S.?

Hello everyone.. can anyone tell me if the green Philippine passport will be fine for U.S.? Coz some says' some country needs the machine readable passports already, not sure if U.S. is one of those countries that require the machine readable one. which i don't have yet. my green passport will be expired on Sept. 2011. can anyone say something about it? t.y.

yes it will still be accepted. but you are encouraged to upgrade it to avoid delays in processing:

PR-CBR- -2010 2 February 2010
HOLDERS OF THE GREEN PHILIPPINE PASSPORT ENCOURAGED TO APPLY FOR EARLY
RENEWAL TO AVAIL OF THE MACHINE READABLE PASSPORT (MRP)
-as the 1 APRIL 2010 ICAO deadline for issuing MRPs approaches
NEW YORK – The Philippine Consulate General New York encourages Filipinos citizens who
hold the old Philippine Passport (green jacket or older) to renew their passports as soon as possible,
as the deadline of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for all countries to issue
machine readable passports to their citizens, 1 April 2010, is less than two months away.
The MRP is up to global standards and is inter-operable with all participating countries,
providing benefits to travelers, airports and airlines, primarily in document security and ease of travel.
More than 20,000 MRPs have been issued by the Philippine Consulate General New York since it
began processing MRPs in June 2008. Those who have used their MRPs have been pleasantly
surprised that they are now able to just swipe the machine-readable portion of their passports at
check-in kiosks at various airports.
While bearers of the green Philippine Passport are assured that these will still be
recognized as bonafide travel documents until the Passport expires, after 1 April 2010 (the
deadline for all member states to issue MRPs) those using the green Philippine Passport may
experience some delay at international ports of entry while their data is being manually encoded by
inspectors. Those who wish to avoid the additional scrutiny may come to renew their passports even
if the current passport will still valid for some time.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsprocessing time question??

Hello, I filed my petition through a law office here in wisconsin, and I got the NOA on December 7th 2009 from the California office. Now its coming up on 4 months, and I know its says 5 months, but I guess I am an impatient person, especially when I read other stories on how it was processed so quickly. I called the lawyer and she said be patient and even called the uscis and they said they cant pull up the file because it still shows in initial review, the only reason I called them is because I have read a lot that the processing times on the website sometimes don't update, she was really nice and said call back when the 5 months is up. My fiance is from Davao Philippines and when I went there she accidentally signed both statements for permission to marry, I also forgot to sign mine, I asked the lawyer if that was going to delay it and she said no because we sent more than enough evidence and she has never had anything be denied. The only reason I didn't do it myself is because I wanted it done right the first time. Any Ideas on what I should expect from the time of packet acceptance til the time she has her interview and also the time that I can buy her ticket? Thanks for all the help.

Steve

permission to marry, -do you mean the letter of intent to marry?
if so, forgetting a requirement like could cause an RFE.

i hope your lawyer is right.

on average, the petition takes 4-6 mos, and then another 2 from the time you gather docs for her visa application, medical, to her actual interview and receipt of visa (if there are no causes for delay).

but until you receive your NOA2, there is no telling how long you still have to wait. a lot of factors come into play like the volume of applications in the batch that yours is in, the person/s actually evaluating/[processing your application, and of course the completeness and organization of your application.

hope and pray, it helps a lot.

and when you do receive the NOA2, do the rest of the process yourself so you'll be familiar w/things, trust VJ people, no need for a lawyer if you don't have a special circumstance. saves you money too!

good luck and god bless. :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsBank Statement- cut off date

ohh i see how about 60 days prior to my interview the cut off date for bank statement..its just okay? and how about the cenomar i got it last Dec. 19, 2009 from NSO as well as my birth certificate, that will be okay too? is there no so much issue on cenomar date? how many cenomar and birth cert. needed? ohh btw do you have an idea about service request? coz our case will be in 7 months already but no noa2 yet.. tnx for sharing..

yes, bank statement 60 days still ok, cenomar is ok too (valid for 6 months, or longer if there is date on it) one of each is enough, photocopy them at least 2 of each.

although the average for petitions is 4-6mos, some cases do take as long as 8 months or more.
you might want to check if your petition is still w/in the normal waiting period and call uscis and ask/they can take note of it.

good luck and god bless! :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsEarly Medical in St. Lukes

Hi guys;

I finished my medical already at St. Lukes Extension Clinic last March 8, 2010. My interview is scheduled on April 5, 2010 still yet. For the benefit of those who want to have an early medical and for my peace of mind. Can somebody who had early medical (1 month above) before their interview date, state if they had a problem or delayed issuance of visa?

Appreciate your reply guys!

no, you shouldn't have a problem. it's actually good that you had the medical early because you're assured that it's already with the USEM.

on the contrary, if you did it a week before your interview date, chances are it wouldn't reach them on time and THEN the USEM won;t be able to issue your visa til they get the medical results.

so relax, and now you can focus on preparing for your interview :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsK1 Timeline

Hi Guys --I am new to V.J . Is there anyone that filed a I-129F petition in Sept 2010 ? I filed a petition in sept and received my NOA 1 in Oct 5 . To date I have not received any further replies . How long does it take from receiving your NOA 1 to recieve your NOA 2 ? I just wish to plan ahead and give my fiance some answers --lol .I appreciate any replies .

the second notice NOA2 would be your approval (if there is no issue found on your application. if you don't receive any RFEs (request for further evidence) in say 3 months, then most likely your application is approved =)

good luck and god bless. =)

Hi,

I have this Notice of Action for a K-1 dated valid from 07/06/2010 to 11/06/2010. Now i can see this has expired, we have been trying to set the interview appointment since November with no luck, I paid the visa payment of $350 to the BDO prior to the NOA expiration date. Only today i had luck online and scheduled her appointment through the US embassy website, I hope i did this right I was able to print out a copy of the appointment letter stating that my fiance's interview date is set for jan 7th 2011.

Has anyone else had a problem like this before?

request an extension of the approval right away and explain the problem. NVC knows that the USEM in manila has slowed down interview scheduling but you have to call and inform uscis and request the extension. :)

Hi guys!

My fiance just talked to NVC since we just got our approval yesterday (idk why he called nvc, maybe because he got all excited all of a sudden - hahaha!). Anyway, the operator said they usually get the uscis notification 15 days after.

Is this true? Or they are just saying that so we won't be bugging them earlier than that?

that's what they are trained to say to give them time to process docs back to you...and probably also so you will wait that long first before bugging them again :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAm I worrying too much???

See now that's gonn abe an issue. I got the divorce ruling in March but did not get the decree in May, we met in April so yeah I guess i wasn't legally divorced yet when we met, then when We decided to go fil for a K1, I had a Null and Void marriage that was still hanging over my head so I filed for an Inavalidity of Marriage in July and got the annulment in September. That Annulment was from a relationship that ended in 2001 to a Filipina as well. I filed for an I-130 then that I did not pursue due to my ex being legally married when we did.

I have seen my fiancee 4 times so far since April, I'll see her again in December and probably a couple more times before her interview. We have travelled all over asia and all over the Philippines with itineraries and boarding passes to show for. In preparation for our nuptuals next year, we have hired a photograper to do pre-nuptual shoot for us so we should be able to present those in her interview as I have read that the CO would still ask her for photographs to show them.

I read the post about the whole being legally married while the couple met. It doesn't make sense to me why that would raise a flag or suspicion of fraud. It happens everyday. I'm not trying to justify, I'm just simply saying...

i agree with you that it doesn't make sense at all, but i just had to tell you that so you know what crazy things uscis/nvc look at. to be on the safe and sure side, just say you met in june and gather your docs around that time, right? it's not a suspicion of fraud per se but the technicality of still being married and "right away"
just to be on the safe side (although your fiancee is not in a fraud hot country).

anyway, another thing is don't show and mention the pre-nup photos you have because as crazy it may sound COs are sensitive when it comes to phontos that hint of marriage rites and celebrations, trust me on that one. show "neutral" photos instead such as those trips you took and mix it too with photos of you and her family, ffriends, workmates =)

i say better safe than delayed and, worse, sorry =)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAm I worrying too much???

I saw my fiancee 4 times in 7 months and we plan to spend the holidays together and hopefully be present at the day of her interview. We've only been together for 7 months now and I have a recent divorce and a recent annulment all of which took place this year.

I'm a bit worried about those 3 factors. 1) Recent divorce 2) Recent annulment (I filed for it just to make sure a VOID marriage does not become an issue with our app) 3) the fact that we were only together for a year by the time she gets an interview.

It's funny how things creep up in your head the moment you start waiting for your NOA2. Ha ha!

if your previous marriages didn't involve K1 applications especially w/in the last two years prior to your recent application, then you should be ok (otherwise you might need to request a waiver through a letter). also make sure you didn't meet your recent fiancee while you were still technically married (divorce not yet final) as this has lately been a common problem encountered by a number of applicants (search for this last week's posts)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMY FIANCEE HE FOUND OUT HE GOT CANCER

Hi VJ's i am new here, just wanna ask something...my fiancee he been sick this month of November and his Doctors and specialist they telling my fiancee that he got cancer and they say's also he wont be around longer :( ! i want to know if this case cause any problem of my petition.my petition been approved last Nov.22 and now i am waiting letter from US embassy manila..need help please!!! thanks

Danmars

if you're asking whether the embassy might deny you a visa based on his being sick, answer is no. however, if the inevitable happens even after your mnl# arrives (the go signal to apply for a visa), then everything will definitely change because all of the processes are based on his approved petition for you.

still, from what i remember, you and/or he can write the nvc for a visa waiver based on humanitarian reasons which allows you to go to the US for a fixed short stay if you can present proof of his medical condition. go to travel.gov and you will find more info on that.

hopefully, more JVs will advise you on your situation =)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMy K1 journey

Hi, I have a quick query.. I have a gf in the United States and she just said, "YES" when I asked her to be my girlfriend. Now, we are talking about marrying. Iam 25, she is 21. She plans to visit me here in the Philippines on January 2012. How soon can she file a petition for me? When is the fastest time to file it? Can she file it right after she returns to US? and about the documentation. We are just using SMS, viber (iphone) and skype. How can we provide proof that we are communicating with each other?

I hope you can help me out. Thank you very much!

as soon as she agrees to marry you and you're both absolutely sure each is "the one" so as soon as shoe goes back to the US.you can print out your texts to each other and chat logs and documentation of her flight as well, and while she's in the US you can take pictures of the two of you.

His interview was 1/28/14 he got the first RFE. Then 2/28 they call and asked for another RFE...
then he was called on last Friday to come for final results. He went today and was denied
We been dating since june 30 2012

RFEs are issued when your evidence seems incomplete or not convincing enough. it is a chance for you to submit more/stronger evidence of your relationship. what were you asked to submit the first RFE? what about the second RFE? if he got denied, it could have been because what you submitted was not sufficient or not accurate. when you respond to an RFE it is to close the doubt of uscis and to give them no more reason to ask for more. think about it.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDO I NEED A SPONSOR?

I currently make $10,000 more than 25% above the poverty level and I have a decent amount of money in savings. However, the last three years tax returns are well below the poverty level because I was a student and not working full time. Does anyone think I should have a co-sponsor just in case? I have a letter from my employer saying that my position outlook is good and I have pay stubs from the past several months.

I just don't want him to get to the interview thinking I'm fine as a sponsor on my own because I make enough money NOW and then take into consideration that I made below the poverty line for the last three years.

Does anyone have similar situations? What should I do??? HELP!!!

although your present financial status is looking good, the requirement will still include your last 2-3 years of income tax returns (proof/determinant of the likelihood that you are financially stable most of the time). now since you are a little of the opposite, to be on the safe side, you should get a co-sponsor which to the uscis is a guarantee you'll have back up (in supporting your beneficiary) should you need one in the future. :)

you're ok to travel w/your gc but definitely get a dr's clearance at least 1 wk before you fly. madaming promos para sa pinas, google ka lang, mganda rin kung at least 3mos prior ka maghanap kasi mura pa ($700-900)kesa kung mlapit sa date na gusto mo (average 1000-2500), . whatever airline piliin nyo, magmember ka para mka-ipon ka ng miles. ang budget sa pinas depende kung saan kyo pupunta at planong gawin doon, kung kasama pamilya at kaibigan at kapitbahay. :)

PhilippinesChild of Fiance (Specific to Manila Embassy)

My fiance is worried...

She was told by her lawyer (handling her recognition of foreign divorce)...

The Manila Embassy has changed its policy regarding children of fiances for K1 visas. He had friend / client that had problems getting visa for child(ren). He advised that we get married in the Philippines and that I adopt her daughter (8 yrs. old, unmarried). Indicated the info was on the Embassy's website (which I can't find anything beyond my understanding below)...

Has anyone had recent experience with fiance and children traveling with them to US? Anyone heard of issues / new policy? Is there any concern regarding illigitamate father (whom left at birth)?

My understanding is...
I included her daughter in my petition I-129F.
She will file for K1 visa and a file for a K2 visa for her daughter (as a derivative).
Her daughter will need to attend medical.
Her daughter will need to attend interview at Embassy.
If we are graced, she will receive a K1 visa and her daughter a K2 visa.
They will both travel to US together.

BTW, is ther any advise regarding obtaining a Philippine passport for her daughter?

thanks,

as far as passport for her daughter, she should have that processed too, and main requirement is a birth cert :)

check the USEM website...no such info...latest info is feb 2010.
same policies. if you do as your lawyer says, you will do the petition all over again as a diferent type CR1 or K3.

tell your fiancee too adoption in the philippines takes time and a lot of processes. I for one know that.

like what others have said, all that you need to have come interview time is all documentation proving that your fiancee and the child's father have no legal relationship in the first place/anymore or have legally terminated it, and then documents also proving that your fiancee has and always been the sole parent/guardian of the child.

good luck and god bless! :)

PhilippinesPOE question

Hi. (hopefully) My (Pinay)fiancee and I will be arriving in Detroit as our POE. Can someone who has experienced this please reply. When we arrive will we be separated? I mean will I (USC) go in one direction and she another? Or will we be able to go through the process together? Also do you have to reclaim your baggage there, even if you have a connecting flight? And one last thing, is there any chance in He_L of us getting through there in 83 minutes? Thanks :D

yes, you'll be separated because there are indeed separate lines for USCs and non-citizens...unless there's a shortage of staff (they have all kinds of people fall under one line sometimes) yes, you'll claim your baggage there for the main check-up (and if you're un-lucky, the longer random thorough luggage check) and then check them in again for your connecting flight. you can make it in 83 minutes (although it's a risk)...the lines can get long at POEs (depending on what time you arrive) where everybody comes in, so make sure you make it first in line at yours hehe.

good luck and god bless! :)

PhilippinesAny benefit to file "Report of Marriage" form with Phil Embassy ?

Report of marriage is needed for your wife to renew her passport in her married name, and your marriage to be acknowledge in the Philippines. It would also allow you to secure NSO marriage certificate.

the above is correct, and yes, no penalty is marriage is reported after more than 30 days, you're required though an affidavit explaining the delay :)
