US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionHow often do you guys communicate with your spouses abroad
Daily :)

6 hours ahead so am at work when my Fiancee wakes up which i always make myself available for and call her to start her day off good :)

before she took on extra hours at her job when i got in from work we would MSN each other for hours on end (often which a few calls inbetween) and i usually end up staying up to the wee hours of the morning

and inbetween all that when were both not at the computer we chat via emails, facebook and the likes

its safe to say i spend every available spare moment i have in my life spending time with my Fiancee as it makes the wait that little bit easier

Police certificates
They are good for a year, so no use waiting until the last minute

if your still in doubt and want to put you mind at ease I suppose you could always phone up and double check before you go down for your interview

I have all the Document written out am hanging on until i send it off until i get a lot closer to my interview date just in case

ok to make sure i wasnt posting false information (which i believed to be correct) i went to the website where i obtained my form from and read through the FAQ for you

How long is my Police Certificate valid for?
there is no set period of time for which the Police Cerificate is considered to be valid. The Police Certificate is only truly accurate on the date of issue. Embassies or High Commissions will usually require you to produce a Police Certificate, which has been issued less than six months before your visa interview

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPolice Certificate

Hi,

Does anyone know how long the police certificate is valid for? I order mine a few months back - being a little optimistic about the speed of our NOA2 and now by the time I get interview I am sure it will be over a 6 month period since it being issued. Will this then be out of date?

Thanks

Lucy

I emailed you the translation. She is regreting a lot of things, missing her family, and missing her boyfriend. Her boyfriend also makes her sound like a nympho, but she's denying you so it must be just you that she doesn't like. Ditch her.

ahhhhh :) thought it would be like this...just thought I would give her at least a chance :)

ok i usually get really mad at these type of posts about how someone could do something like this to a person....

but i would get them chat logs sorted out first before you try and do anything...now i haven't seen them so i don't know to a degree how flirty there seem (e.g you picking out a few English words and flying to assumptions)

not trying to defend the person....but from what you said about how she misses her country...what if she is talking to her friend....it could be something along the lines of "i want to go home but i love him so much"

actually nevermind... you kept picking out "I love you" didnt you? and not "I love him"?

in that case ditch her ####### and send her back home....but make sure to get those chat logs sorted out to find the level of intent of fraud

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresLetter of intent

For the London Consulate, you will need an updated copy of your letter of intent for the interview. If it has been over 4 months since your NOA2 then you will need that updated letter of intent to be notarized. I believe that's the only case where you actually DO need to get it notarized. :star:

Thanks for the reply :)

hopefully it wont take longer then 4 months then as getting it notarized is a pain.

signing infront of a solicitor, then having him sign and stamp in then I think you need to send it off to yer another place urghhhh lol :)

but thanks everyone for your help

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresLetter of intent

Which country are you in? If you can update your timeline (if you need help let me know)

I processed my visa in England and you just need to sign and date the letter of intents. You only need to take a second letter of intent to the Embassy if your first one expired (if you interview is six months after you sent the I-129f Package). I think Patrick and I did get the second one's notorized but not 100% sure if you have to.

Lesley

yeah  sorry will update as soon as I can, and from England as well so you just answered my question (I think) already :)

Hello all,

when am sending Lori (fiance in US) my first letter of intent (used the example form on this forum which I will sign in blue ink before posting), do I need to get it notarized? or will signing and dating it being ok when sending it off in the mail to her (along with the G-325A form and passport photo)

(if so can anyone sign next to my signature to confirm it?)

also same applies to the second letter of intent the one i believe i bring to my interview.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresJust Beginning...Need my UK fiance' here yesterday.....

WOW!!! As being the "Lori" in Colin&Lori, I am beyond offended. How dare you say I am living a fairytale and think my marriage won't last. I met someone I never would have had the chance to meet in my everyday life. I am thankful every single day for meeting him. We spend hours and hours texting, phoning, emailing, chatting via msn. I have spent more quality time COMMUNICATING with Colin and getting to know him than I have with anyone else in my entire life. Physically being apart has allowed us to get to know eachother on a much deeper level. The level of communication, trust and commitment goes far beyond anything I've ever had with someone I was able to see on a daily basis.

Neither Colin or I have the means to travel across the world time and time again to see eachother. I am a single mother raising two children, I can't just leave at the spur of the moment and spend every spare penny I have to see Colin.

I spent 2 1/2 weeks with Colin. But even before that time, I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. Seeing him in person only helped solidify my feelings, not change them in either direction.

It is possible to fall in love without "meeting" face to face. Love begins with your heart and mind, not with your body. Modern technology has allowed us to meet people we never would have the chance to meet otherwise.

I'll make sure to send you an invitation to our 50th wedding anniversary party.

agree with 100% thanks baby MWAH

exactly what I was thinking Kelly along the same lines anyways :)

proposed to Lori not long after i got there :) wanted to propose at the same time i handed over a box of chocs to her (as that was how we met online FB game called scavenger hunt and sent her a box of chocs for her collection)

but I spent every single possible moment with her (apart from in the morning where she went to work) and we instanly clicked into each others lives :)

anyways........

I know it will take longer but yeah I would get a visit or two under your belts first, keep the pics, boarding passes anything that proved you two have met...

also it will help prove more you have a bonafide realtionship as well :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresJust Beginning...Need my UK fiance' here yesterday.....

You are in love with someone you've never met.. How is that even possible?

That my kind Sir is VERY possible....I have known my Fiancee coming up to three years now...(two year mark we met).

now inbetween first contact and meeting her..spending hours upon hours talking camming chatting friends...best friends..falling in love..

it is VERY possible to know that you love someone before you have met them...and in my case I KNEW I loved Lori before i even met her...the ammount of hours we spent talking getting to know each other very deeply personaility wise...

plus the fact she looked gorgeous is always a plus :)

what am trying to say here...if i knew i loved Lori before i even met her..meeting her in person only proved that fact and made that love much much stronger

meeting online first rather then in person has some pluses...one being you are more likely to connect on a personal level deeply because at the moment thats pretty much all you have...chats...camming...emails...texts

but aside all that....going back to the OP yes I would strongly suggest that you met the person in well person first :) you need it to File for the K-1 process :)

and well it will also help you confirm how much you do truly love this person

Hopefully, you can still have this understanding attitude towards USCIS and its adjudicators in 5 months from now if you are still waiting on NOA2...

lol glady :) you see I knew there was going to be a 5 month wait so am prepared for it and will still have this understanding even after 5 months

the way i also see it is this waiting period is null and void as opposed to the amount of time you will spend with your love one :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresthe kind people who process our cases :)

We have the good fortune to live very close to VSC and have several friends and acquaitances that work there (big employer in this area). They are just regular people. They process lots of paperwork, much more than K-1s and I-130s. They process what they are assigned. There really is nothing more to it than that. They come to work, sit in their cubes and chew through petitions for 10 hours and then go home. They typically do 20-24 per day, each. One of our friends that works there is a Russian woman that came here as a K-1 and is now a citizen.

There is no mystery or secret to it. If anyone ever worked in an office that processes applications, insurance claims, etc...it is the same.

exactly :) work in similar conditions so I can relate to these people myself :)
Colin&LoriMaleUnited Kingdom2010-11-24 08:02:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresthe kind people who process our cases :)

The ultimate convern for me is getting approved after the whole wait, and later being issued a visa would make the whole wait worth it!

yeah same with me i knew all about the 5 month wait so am prepared to wait that long (yes i would like it shorter :))

but that's what me and Lori are concerned about the most after all this wait money spent ect...the fear of not getting approved everything else i can handle...because i know after this wait i can spend a lifetime with her and makes it all worth it :)

oh and to YGR i suggest YOU read some of the past posts in this Forum because YES there have been insults directed at the people who process our cases

please get off your high horse and direct your resentment of waiting so long else where :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresthe kind people who process our cases :)

For me, it has NOTHING to do with the people processing the work but everything to do with our files sitting in storage for months. And, when a backlog hits some people take longer to be processed yet we all pay the same amount of money. Why should some be processed in two months and other five or six months yet pay the same fee? Is that fair? No. I don't doubt the people are working hard but there is the law of supply and demand. When the demand is high then increase your number of workers and vice-versa.

might not be able to increase the number of workers due to a company budget (although am very sure there would have money set aside for moments like these to hire tempory staffing) which is what we did to clear our backlog but then that comes the process and training these said people to get upto speed with the work that there will do

i do understand where your coming from :) and me myself would LOVE to see a decrease in the time of having to wait :)
although i wasn't shoving everyone into the same boat and saying that ALL users think this

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresthe kind people who process our cases :)
I know a lot of what is said about the people who process our cases is in jest or the heat of the moment because of the amount of time our cases are taken...

but before you start complaining and calling them lazy and all names under the sun :) am sure there are doing there best to try and get through our cases and there work...(well maybe apart from a few bad apples)

at the moment i work for the CSA (child support agency) in the UK and a Data Protection Officer...which when a client wants all there information there come to us and we send out everything we hold on them bar 3rd party infomation...

now from the date of when we get the request in our office we have 40 days to supply our customers with there information....now a while back there was a great influx of work and because we were short manned we were not meeting the deadlines...but we were trying our best to get the information processed and sent out...
(we are now all caught up with work may i add lol)

but before you start posting OMG NOA2 IS TAKEN AGES (and I know sometimes its just to vent and its always nice to vent every now and again) but all am trying to say is please bear in mind that these people (hopefully lol) are doing all there can to process our cases as fast as there can :)

maybe we could have a sticky at the top of this page where users can go to vent and let off a bit steam?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresUsing assets- need to be comfortably over?
Thank you for creating this thread as we are in a very similar position. My wife will be returning to America on the 22nd of January and we have worked out she needs to really earn at least 12000 or thereabouts a year to qualify as I calculating the increase on the I864 as per last year so the new poverty line will be something like $19437. So 19437 - 11500 x 3 = $23811.

I have worked out at interview our savings should be around the $28000 mark. I did post previously on here (and another forum) and I was told that if you meet the requirements you meet them and there was no comfortably over to do with it especially if it was cash assets. So is there a comfortably over and if so are we going to be okay?!

The other thing is what if the income comes from two part time jobs, is this viewed as being less sustainable?

Sorry to hijack your thread but I didn't want to start a new one for such a similar situation and wish you all the best in your application!

EDIT: I thought this was the January 2013 post I was reading. Sorry for bringing up such an old topic!

RaTBoXMaleUnited Kingdom2007-06-20 07:26:00
United KingdomMedical vaccination records
Phew!

I was just thinking about this myself and came to the UK forum to ask about it.

Although my interview isn't for a good while yet (Still waiting on the blasted NOA2) I decided to go to my doctors and see what they had for me in terms of a vaccination record.

I asked the receptionist if I could have a copy of my vaccination record to prove dates of a TB and MMR vaccination. She came back with a photo copy of a sheet from my medical record, and on it was a page that had obviously been created originally in a typewriter. On it was my name, DoB, and a list of all the vaccinations I had ever had. It turned out I had never had an MMR (only a mumps shot on it's own) so she let me go in and see the nurse straight away to get the first shot of my MMR done. I also asked the nurse if I could have a TB booster, since my TB shot was more than 10 years old. After these two injections, she gave me a more modern looking booklet from some drug company which had space in for vaccinations and dates, and serial code of injection used.

So I now have two records, the old one, and the new booklet with my TB and both MMR shots. I hope this is ok!

Also, getting them done at the GP for free was preferable to at a private clinic where it would have cost me money.

As a side question to this, is the information on the US Embassy website current? Are the medicals done by just two doctors in London? That's a fair trek from Newcastle.
