US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	Hotels near London Embassy	I stayed at the Thistle Hyde Park, reasonable rate but parking is expensive anywhere in London. Just make sure not to drive thru the Congestion Zone which starts around the Marble Arch area, not far from the Embassy. I personally flew down and used the tube and returned same day. US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	Recieved Packet 3	What a great surprise this morning. So far today I've filled out the Bio data form and leaving the rest for a bit (I tire easily).... But all looks "ok." We were looking at the medical instructions though and it says THEY choose where I go and that it takes 2 days now to get the results...so looks like we're gonna have to make 3 trips to london....1 for the medical, 1 for the interview and 1 to heathrow if approved. According to our packet 3 it has I-134 gets sent back with all the rest they supplied....but I have to wait for my co-sponcer and fiance to send them back to send off packet 3 ...so hmm.... Wish us luck! Btw the whole packet 3 came with 2 staples through them....we haven't unstapled them incase....is this right? I am afraid what you say is true, they have updated the way they do medicals and they are no longer on the same day as your interview. I am from Newcastle and have to make multiple trips. I did my medical on Wednesday and I think all went well. I flew to Heathrow in the morning, got the Tube to the medical centre and flew back on the evening. An overall cost of around £100(cheaper than driving and a hotel) not including the medical of £160. I didnt take out my staples but i did remove the sheets they didnt need back. However there is a delay of 6 - 8 weeks between the date the forms are received by the Embassy and the date in which they are processed and entered on to our system. As soon as the Immigrant Visa Unit has received the forms and completed any additional processing on your application you can anticipate receiving an appointment date for an interview within 8 weeks. US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	Medical ... what exactly do they do?	I am male and had my medical last week. A quick questionnaire is done, very similar to the one sent in Packet 3. You are then given a chest x-ray and then taken to see the doc, mine was female. A few more simple questions about health and then you are asked to strip to your underwear. You are wieghed and your height is measured. They then take a blood sample and examine your genitalia. Thats pretty much it. US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	A Quick Question regarding Embassy please	Email responses from London are always the same, they will inform you that there is a 4-6 week delay on entering your Packet 3 on to the system and and a 6-8 wait for interview dates. Ignore it all and just wait for packet 4. I e-mailed and got the standard e-mail and 2 days later i got my date in the post. I think I understand your position and I am confused at how you can file for Direct Consular Filing as it is my belief that this can only be done if you both live outside the US. From what I read you are living in the US and your spouse in Poland. If you file your visa before trying to visit I would think he would be denied entry to the US on grounds that the visa is immigrant intent. I tried to visit my wife and despite having evidence of ties was denied entry as being married and having an Immigrant visa in process it was immigrant intent. I was advised to get a B-2 visitor visa which I was also denied on the grounds of immigrant intent because of the I-130 in process. Good Luck whatever you decided. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	K-3 or I-130	The I-130 is at NVC for a few months with the various forms etc that have to be sent back and forth. Once completed, forwarded to embassy....there is then the wait time for an interview. If Jame's shortcuts are used this can save a great deal of time and you can have the NVC stage completed as early as around 2 months, obviously determined by how quick you respond to the NVC generation of forms/fees, how quickly NVC generates the next step, whether there is security checks that hold things up, and ultimately how long the case takes to be complete once all documents/forms have been received. You can choose to enter on a K-3, continue the processing of the I-130 at NVC and then when complete and forwarded to embassy the applicant can return to embassy, get the CR-1 visa and gain the Green Card and re-enter. There would then be no adjustment of status in the US. There are many members opting for this as AOS can be a pain in butt from all I have read in the AOS forum If one has the finances and can easily travel back to Embassy then this is an option. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Medical on Monday	Immunisation records will help but as your a non-immigrant visa applicant you dont need to be fully vaccinated until AOS.
