I don't know why sometimes people is sooo rude, mamamimi was just asking a simple question, I've seen this kind of responses from a lot of older members, if there's a protocol for topics then should be a protocol for manners and how to answer nicely to people in need of help.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAny advice for a chilean newbie???

first off.. start your timeline..

your timming might be good.. people are getting noa2s really fast right now from vermont..

and my fiancee interview date was for the interview was 53 days after the noa2...

be patient is the key.. our first packet never made it to vermont...

also packet 3 seems to be lost too.. my fiancee might have to take a trip to santiago from valpariso to get a copy...

so things happen... but things happen for a reason... just shrug it off and keep moving..

Thank you =) im just waiting for my fiance to send the app so then ill start my timeline.
My fiance is working on all the assembling stuff now, a really pain in the neck:P but we know all of these is worth...at the end we'll be together and also we know that God is in control:D

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureswhat we need to send with our I-134???

Well, does he make the poverty guidelines or are you needing a co-sponsor? If he makes the poverty guidelines on his own we just sent copies of the past 3 years W2's, past 6 months pay slips, letter from Patrick's boss on company headed paper stating how much he earns and we also got some info from the bank with regards to what money he had coming into his bank account. I am sure you do not need all of this but its better to have too much rather than too little.

This may be different if he is self employed, not sure as Patrick is employed with the US Air Force

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F First/Middle names do not fit in box

Hello!

My fiance has two middle names. Really a first name, the second 'segundo', and a middle name. I cannot fit them into the first or middle name box on the I-129F form. I cannot change the font and I do not think I can fit it by writing it in. The names do fit on the G325A. Any suggestions, please? Thanks so much!

Hi, this is what my fiance did on our app

3.2.2)...How should a latin name (first name, fathers last name, mothers last name) be put on the G-325A and I-129F?
A..What others have done successfully is to use the first (fathers) last name on the forms. Then in the cover letter, state the full name including both last names and that you are only using the first (fathers) last name on the forms.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresUPPERCASE G325A

Hello! Newbie here again. I just realized that all of the information on From G325A was filled out in uppercase. My Fiance has already signed and mailed to me. Will this be a problem? The information on the other form, I-129F, is in lowercase unless specified. Thanks AGAIN!!

well i don't think its a big deal but if you don't feel confident about it and since you are the petitioner, you can fill out the I-129F again in uppercase so it will match with your fiance's G-325A
its a pain in the neck but it worth your peace of mind. I know how stressful all this process could be

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMailing format of I-129F package

Wow great guide! I never saw that link before sending our application! :) Probably they had lot of work with our application :hehe:

Hey guys here's another really good info that helped us a lot with all the assembling stuff. Its a lot of reading so get comfortable

Hi. I am passing forward how we did ours. I hope this helps you as well as it did to us. This is a very detailed instruction on how you do the whole package.

How to make the I-129 F petition folder to send to Immigration:

This is what I had: the US Citizen will be the one doing all the work at this stage. All the foreigner has to do is sign 4 sheets of paper and submit passport pix to the US Citizen, so that the US citizen can start putting the application together.

First, I bought a manila folder, the kind that opens up, like this http://en.wikipedia....iki/File_folder.

On the cover of the folder I glued a sheet of paper that said, ? I-129F petition? . And I put our names on it.

Ok, now the inside of the folder:
First I put 2 holes at the top and I two hole punched everything, all the papers.
I fastened everything with the ACCO fasteners?
http://www.instaoffi...992-ctn.0.7.htm

Then I had dividers, the kind you put in a Binder with the colored tabs, they are three hole punched on the sides, but I 2 hole punched the top.. these kind of dividers: http://www.jiffysupp...Dividers/Detail

With these dividers they come with the sheet of paper that allows me to write in what the topic is on the tab.

Ok, so now for assembling?everything I am saying applies to the US Citizen?

A. The first thing you will put in the folder will be the I 129 Cover letter. This letter will look like the following (look below for example - edit it based on your needs. And make sure you put the right USCIS address on it?vermont, Ca, or somewhere else):

US Citizen name,address, number

United States Department of Homeland Security
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services
Accurate address

Date

Nature of the submission: I-129F ORIGINAL SUBMISSION

To whom it may concern:
Enclosed please find my form I-129F, Petition for K-1 Fiance(e) Visa for (put your fiance(e) name here), and supporting documents.

Contents Include:

-Payment in the amount of $XX ? whatever the current amount is?look here--it was 455, but it always increases:
http://www.uscis.gov...00045f3d6a1RCRD

-I-129F Petition
-I-129F Supplement: Part B, Question 18, Explanation of meeting in person
-G-325A and Passport Style photograph (petitioner)
-G-325A and Passport Style Photograph (Beneficiary)
Letter Certifying intent to marry (Petitioner and Beneficiary)
Petitioners Birth Certificate
Petitioners Passport ?(copies of passport and all the entry /leave stamps that sghow you visited your persons country)
-Letter Certifying intent to marry (Petitioner and Beneficiary)
-Proof of having met in person in the past two years (state the proof you are including)

Copies of documents submitted are exact photocopies of unaltered documents and I understand that I may be required to submit original documents to an immigration or consular officer at a later date.

Sincerely,

your name, sign it
---------------------

Ok, so lets talk about the contents of the package:
1. The petition ?the I-129F petition- you the US Citizen will sign that petition.
2. i-129 F supplement: this is just a brief detail of how you met your honey.thats all?just type it up on a sheet of paper because that box they give you in the petition is too small. Sign it and date it.
3. the G 325 A- the US Citizen will fill out 4 copies of it and sign each copy. The immigrant also needs to sign four copies of it and sign it. You will see how each copy says something different in the left bottom corner, like consulate, etc. Make sure you, the US Citizen send immigration the copies with the ORIGINAL signatures. So if you need to send the immigrant the forms to sign and then have that person send them back to you in the mail, that is what you will have to do.
Make sure you fill out these forms accurate and accordingly. Look here for
examples of how to fill out the form right.
This website is GOLD!!! Look at it because it gives you EXACT examples of what you will need: Look at how they filled out the I-129F petition and the G-325A.
http://www.visajourn...p;page=examples

4. You and your honeys passport pictures. Write your name in pencil on the back of your passport picture and on the back of the foreigners picture, write their name and ? No alien number? on the back of the foreigners pix cuz they probably dot have an alien number... When your foreigner goes to take his/her passport picture , make sure HE/She tells the photographer that it is for a US PASSPORT/Immigration, so that the photographer will give the foreigner the picture in the RIGHT size. It needs to be the right size. So when you have the picture, and you have written on the back, stick it in a clear Ziploc bag. Zip up the Ziploc bag. Print a sheet of paper that has your name on it. Put the picture in the bag. And staple the bag to the sheet of paper that has your name on it. Do it for both pictures.

Proof of relationship:
You , the US Citizen, can include: used phone cards, copies of envelopes you have been sent through the mail, some emails, some Skype calls, pictures, your plane itinerary when you went to the foreigners country, the boarding pass, the stamps in your passport are proof, receipts of things you may have purchased while in the foreign land, the stickers they stick on your suitcase that show the destination, copies of the money receipts you have sent to the foreigner- like money gram or western union, post office receipts that show you sent something to the foreign country.

On the back of the photos, make sure you write your names, date, and where you were in the photo.

ASSEMBLING
So you will have the manila folder and all your stuff will be 2-hole punched at the top. Don?t STAPLE ANYTHING ? only staple the Ziploc bag with the picture to a white sheet of paper that has your names on it. So you will only use two-3 staples.

Ok, you have your manila folder:And all your papers, including the dividers that are 2 hole punched at the top
1. get your cover letter , the one that says what is in the folder, example above. Type this letter (US citizen) and date it and sign it. turn it over.
2. get the divider and write i-129F on the white tab that comes with it. Turn it over.
3. get your 1-129F petition form. Make sure it is signed and dated by the US citizen, Hole punch it and turn it over. Take your 1-129F supplement, sign and date it and turn it over
4. get the divider and write G325A. turn it over
5. get the US Citizen G-325 As. There should be 4 with the same exact data, all with the original signatures and all signed. All 2 hole punched at the top. Flip them over get the US Citizen photo. Write the name in pencil on the back. Stick it in a Ziploc bag. Staple the bag (make sure you don?t staple the actual picture) to a sheet of paper that has the US citizens name on it. Flip it over get the foreigners G-325 As. There should be 4 with the same exact data, all with the original signatures and all signed. All 2 hole punched at the top. Flip them over. Get the foreigners pic. Write the name in pencil on the back and write ,?no alien number?. Stick it in a Ziploc bag. Staple the bag (make sure you don?t staple the actual picture) to a sheet of paper that simply has the foreigners name on it. Flip it over
6. Get the divider and write : Letter of intent to Marry on the tab
7. Print out the letter of intent to marry which should have original signatures by both of you. This is simply a three sentence letter stating that you and the other person plan on getting married within 90 days of receiving the K1 visa. The Us citizen can type the letter and email it foreigner. Foreigner prints it, signs it, and sends it through the mail to U S citizen. Then Us citizen gets that letter and signs his/her signature too?this way two signatures will be on the same page. Hole punch this letter and flip it over.
8. Divider ? write birth certificate or passport . Flip it over on top of everything else that is flipped over.
9. Us Citizens birth certificate. If you don?t have it, you can submit a copy of the pages of your passport (copies- do NOT send the original of these document). On the copies of your passport pages, highlight the stamps which show when you visited the country of your foreign fiancé. Hole punch the copies and flip them over.
10. get divider tab and write : Proof
11. Now, put a sample of your phone cards on a photocopy machine and photocopy the front and back, if you have any. Hole punch, flip over.
B. Print phone records of the times you have called your foreigner or/anf when the foreigner called/texted the US American. Hole punch, flip over
C. Us citizen should photocopy plane itineraries, boarding passes, luggage tags. Hole punch the photocopy and flip over.
D. US Citizen should photocopy envelopes he/she has received from foreigner. Hole punch and flip over.
E. US citizen should photocopy money receipts he/she has sent. Hole punch and flip over.
F. US citizen should photocopy some emails that have been sent to each other. Hole punch and flip over.
G. US Citizen should photocopy receipts from post office showing he/she sent packages/letters to the foreigner.
H. US Citizen should submit pictures of the couple together ? at least 2. Make sure you write your names and locations on the back of the pictures..Put these pictures in an envelope or a strong Ziploc bag.Seal the bag and punch two holes in the bag so you can fasten it. Flip it over.

That?s it. Now flip everything over and put it on the fasteners ? the two pronged fasteners. Get a paperclip and attach your check/money order to the cover sheet in the folder. Everything is in order ? make sure your pictures are not backwards. Make sure the check is the right amount.

Now, make two copies of this file?the petitioner and the beneficiary will need EXACT copies of the file. So now you, the US Citizen, will have 3 files which are IDENTICAL. Us citizen keeps one for themselves, foreigner will eventually get the other copy when the US citizen gives it to him/her, and the copy with the live check will go to USCIS.

Send it off in a waterproof enevlope--staples has them. Send it through the post offuice and get some type of signature confirmation so that you know for sure that it was received.

Send it off and wait.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMailing format of I-129F package

Hey everyone,

I know this might be a trivial concern, but I'm a fan of binders and sheet protectors, and I was wondering
if I could send my I-129F package in this format? It's a black binder, and it would allow for a very
organized presentation of the documents.

Anyhow, no big deal if it can't be done, but I was wondering if anyone else had used this format.

Thank you!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProposed Civil Partnership/ Fiancee visa

Hello, New here...just signed up today. HELLO EVERYONE!!!! I'm Sarah

I am in DESPERATE need of some help. Me and my Fiancé and about to start this process and I am so confused about how the Fiancée visa all works. If anyone could please please help me out it would be much appreciated.

As of right now my fiancé and I halted on applying for the Fiance visa because I was told a decent amount of money to prove she can support me would have to be in the bank account for 3 months. Well it hasn't been there for 3 months because I had no idea this needed to happen and she had previous trips planned. Is that fact true does it need to be in there 3 months? And what is the amount they look for? I figured better to have more in her account than in mine, we both work full time at the moment, although I make more than she does. The problem we are having is with the income she makes (which is small, bad economy in England) would not be much, but with what I make now (and also a 10k car I will be selling once the visa is approved) is that going to bode badly with immigration? We a slightly worried that they will see she makes a smaller amount and not take what I have into account. Obviously after the 6 months I will immediately start work, should I mention this in the Visa application. I wire her a little money every time I get paid to help out.

We just now got a place which we put as our new address on the application but I am quite worried that they will think she can't support me financially, which between her and me we can. Any suggestions, I already got a 1500 loan from family (exchange rate aside). Also will it help a lot of we have a family members from both sides writing a letter stating they will be our co sponsor and help us out financially?

Right now we are very stressed with getting all the documents together, worried about the money problem, how likely is it to be denied. We want more than anything to be able to have a life together and its so hard being apart as well as knowing that our fate is in someone else's hands. I have a bunch of questions about the application itself and the whole process of what to do after the application is completed and ready to turn in. If what we heard about the 3 months is true that's another 5 months we have to go through before we even have an answer (3 months of waiting then 2 months of waiting for the application)

We are very scared and I have never done this before and would GREATLY appreciate some help. It seems that if I ask an immigration lawyer for help even if it is just a few questions they just want your money. I'm desperate at this point, please help.

All this process is VERY stressful I'm pretty sure that all the people over VJ's site could say the same...well you have to read and get informed that's the only way to know how this process works, so here are some links that might help you...after you read and read and read just keep on asking questions over here

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI am confused!

Hey everyone. I am in the process of getting the package for the I129-F together, and I am still unsure of my filing center, and the fee. I went to the USCIS Website and one spot said the Vermont Service Center and the other one said Texas, when I entered my zip code. Also...I thought the fees were reduced...? When I check the USCIS Website it still says $455 for the K1. Can ANYONE clear this up. I am getting really confused.

Thank you!

This is the official info, you have to sent your package to Texas, here is the address http://www.uscis.gov...00045f3d6a1RCRD

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAny additional documents needed?
She also needs to send you copies of any proof of having met in person in the past 2 years and an ongoing relationship that she has:
1. Copies of all airline boarding passes, train passes, itineraries, hotel receipts, passport stamps (make sure you can read the dates on the stamps), and other documentary evidence that you have met within the last two years. You may want to highlight or place post-it notes indicating the dates and locations on the copies (to make the adjudication easier) for the person reviewing your file. 2. Color Photo's of you and your fiance(e) together. Make sure you write your names, date, and location on the back of every photo. Provide two to five photo's. If you only have a single copy of the photo, then make a color copy and send that. If it is a digital photo, have it printed at a company such as kodakgallery.com. You can also make duplicates of photo's at your local photo store (Walgreeens, CVS, etc). Place photo's in a plastic bag or photo sheet and label the sheet. Note that you may not receive originals of photo's back. 3. The following items will not typically show proof of having met in the last two years however will show proof of an ongoing relationship: Copies of phone bills, cell phone bills, emails (you can edit personal info with a marker), letters (edit personal info also), stamps on the letters (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can also include a copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK-1 Help

Hello my name is Amanda and I'm at the process of finishing up my I-129 packet. This is going to be a dumb question and more than likely I'm just over looking it, but does anybody know who you're supposed to make the moneyorder out to. It's driving me nuts and I've been looking for two hours. If anybody knows and could tell me that would be greatly appreciated thank you so much.

hi Amanda :) I don't think there's dumb questions, this process could be very stressful sometimes so don't worry cause all of us have been in that situation more than once :P plus being nice doesn't cost much, i dont get how people can be so rude when someone ask questions...but anyways, here is the link from USCIS about paying filing fees http://www.uscis.gov...00045f3d6a1RCRD

hope it helps :D

God bless you

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresGETTING READY

I need some advice quickly. I filed the I-129F and received my NOA but it is now 3 weeks now and I've not heard a word from them. I checked the official site and checked the case status and it still reads the same thing that it is being processed. I have no problems with the law or other wise. I hope to receive the NOA2 soon. But I was wondering what is the hold up?? Monday is a holiday at their office is closed which means that there is another day of no processing what can I do to expedite this if I can. I'm sure in Vermont they are rushing out today(Friday) to begin the long holiday weekend but I'm trying to be patient as possible I don't want them to send me a R.E.D. right now that will really delay our documents even though I have all my papers in order what should we do???

Second the love of my life was having a problem with her tooth. I sent her to the dentist and it was resolved, but there are other concerns with her teeth now. I'm worried about the dental exam before being granted the fiancee visa. Her family dentist says that she needs: FILINGS, DENTURES FOR THE TEETH IN THE BACK THAT WAS REMOVED, IMPRESSIONS OF THE UPPER AND LOWER TEETH, AND THE COUPLE OF DECAYING TEETH NEED REPAIR, AND FINALLY WHITENING OF THE TEETH. (My fiancees' love of rice, coca cola, coffee, cobra and samurai has taken its toll. HA HA... BUT IN MY OPINION, I believe everything minus the dentures for the 4 missing back teeth are needed before she comes here. I have excellent dental insurance here and after we are married she will be covered I'm busting my #### to save for all the travel expenses for us because I want to visit her family and she and I go to the embassy together. She is a lovely woman but never even been on an aircraft or any of the things I know about travel airlines, airports, layovers, gates, etc. The total expenses will be about 1,200 or so to complete the dental work but I need to do other things with this money. If there is no way around it then ok but if it can wait till state side then great. Can someone with exact info on the dental requirements please respond quickly to my query? Thanks and God bless.

Wow! take it easy :P you just filed a month ago, be patient cause there's a lot of waiting, Vermont is approving JUN-JUL-AGO petitions by now
I don't know about dental requirements cause they are not required at my embassy, so i hope someone else can help you about it :)

God bless you

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresStill waiting!!

My NOA1 was dated 07/29/2010, and I filed with Vermont Center. I still have not got my NOA2 yet. I check the updates, and it has stopped at July 25th for the past 3 days. The last touch to my case was 10/03/2010
If they get to 07/29/2010 Does that mean that they have to start processing my petition?
I am sick and tired of waiting and waiting...
Any help?

mine was dated 07/19/2010 with VSC also and still nothing  the dates given on VJ's timeline are just a reference, you have to think that there's a lot of people that don't update their timelines and a bunch that isn't at VJ's...soooo we just need to be patients and keep on waiting

God bless you, hope we can have good news soon!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCalling all Senators and Representatives

Yikes! It's amazing to me how some members think its their right to rant and rave at someone who is trying to expedite the process to be with their loved one and get them out of harms way. True, some cases can be more serious than others and all want faster results. But to pounce on somebody who is questioning how to contact his or her congressman is plain disrespectful and unwarranted.

There is absolutely nothing wrong in contacting a congressman regarding immigration providing the inclusion of true facts, conveyance of understanding of the process, and written tactfully. The goal is to sell your individual situation. I would not attack the process, the center involved, or make far-flung accusations as this could hurt more than help. If one has the time to write or call and can do it effectively why wouldn't one do it! To suggest you wait for 5 months before you make contact is absolutely ridiculous, there is no Congressman written rule or policy in this regard. There is nothing wrong with seeking every avenue possible providing it is done honestly, truthfully, and tactfully within the limits of the law. This is about you and your loved one, not about someone on this board whom may have an axe to grind or is fearful of contacting their congressman until their 5 months is up.

Sorry you misinterpreted my post, I'm really glad for those getting their approvals in less time than the 5 months mark, but I'm not happy about how USCIS is working in no logical order, its very frustrating, thats all.
God bless you.

Patty, have you tried calling your Congressperson?

Not yet, we were trying to do things in the right way, calling your congressperson should be an last option when your case is over the 5 month mark... but if people do that way before that happens that means that our cases are pulled back...not fair
