K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsFinally approved after 239 days! :) :)

OMG, congrats. I remember your post a while back. I am so happy for both of you. If you don't my asking, what did you do that finally you've got an approval?

Hi,

Thank you for sharing your case information. Please see below mentioned information on my case K-1 application and please reply back to me about the next steps.

December 6th, 2013 - Mailed application by using USPS 2 day express mailing.
December 9th, 2013 - Application delivered by USPS to Dallas Lockbox.
December 10th, 2013 - Someone from USCIS picked it up.
December 12th, 2013 - Text message and email arrived with application receipt number.
December 13th, 2013 - Status was available online. Stage Initial Review for application - application sent to Texas Services Center for processing.
December 17th, 2013 - Letter arrived in mail with receipt number - NOA1
December 20th, 2013 - Status changed from processing to Alien registration number changed status.

Question: Alien registration number changed status, what does this mean? whats next after this? A lot of people who filed in in late November also stated on this forum that they got their approval. Should I say my approval is also on its way or is it too early. Just so you know my application is at Texas Services Center.

Thank you and I look forward to all of your response.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsQuestion Regarding Contacting USCIS

All -

I mailed my I-129F application on December 6th, 2013. My NOA1 shows Notice Date of December 12th, 2013 and Received Date of December 10th, 2013. The processing time it shows for TCS is 5 months. Should I wait some more time or call USCIS to follow up?

Please advise, Thanks.

Hi Everyone,

I have a question - how many days does it take for the case to reach the specified US Consulate from NVC. In other words how many days how many days does it take CEAC "In-Transit" to change to "Received"

Thanks,

MB

You will only get a piece of paper after it has been sent to the consulate. There is no paperwork to complete if you are filing a K-1. This is a generic message because they deal with other cases as well that do require additional instructions from NVC. NVC will process your petition and send it to the consulate. Then you will receive a letter saying to have your fiance fill out the DS-160 and wait for communication from your consulate (packet 3 and 4 where applicable. )

Thank you for your response.

I am waiting on NVC to send my application to the consulate. I have a questions regarding DS-160. I know my application is still sitting at NVC do you think it would be better if I just go ahead and submit my application online for DS-160. I already have my case number from NVC so why not just go ahead and submit the application?

Thank you once again and I look forward to your feedback.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDecember 2013 filers

Hi Everyone,

I called NVC this morning and luckily was able to get the case number. I have few questions regarding the NVC and next process.

I checked my status at CEAC website and it shows

"AT NVC - Please follow the instructions you received from the National Visa Center (NVC) for the next step in the processing of your visa petition. If you have misplaced the instructions sent to you by the NVC or did not receive them, please contact us at http://travel.state..../info_3177.html for additional information."

I haven't received any paperwork? Any idea of what that could be? The lady who I spoke to over the phone from NVC she mentioned to me that they have received my application just two days ago.

Any more information on next steps would be highly appreciated. Thanks

Hi Everyone,

Today I received NOA2 in mail. What really weird about this letter is that "The above petition has been approved and forwarded to the listed consulate" The application goes to NVC not consulate.

I have seen sample of other NOA2s and they mentioned it that letter that the application will go to NVC and from NVC it will be forwarded to the consulate mentioned in the application.

I was approved on July 2nd and the status haven't changed from Approved to sent to NVC yet.

I look forward your feedback on it.

Thanks,

MB

Thank you everyone.

Thank you Noura_914 for detailed explanation.

The USICS Post Activity Decision states - On July 2, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E).

Do you think it will now take change to "Sent to NVC" or should I call NVC 2 weeks from June 2nd?

Thanks,

Hi Everyone,

I have an exciting news to share with you all.

My I-129F petition was approved last night. I mailed the I-129F documents on December 6th and finally after such a long wait I received an approval. Some of the December filers are still in the same situation I was but I have a strong feeling that it will all work out for all you guys very soon.

I would appreciate if you guys can answer some of the questions mentioned below:

Question 1 - NVC: Once the document has been sent to NVC should I expect an email from them informing me about the tracking of my file to the beneficiary consulate or should I give them a call to get the tracking number? What website should I go to check on the tracking number?

Question 2 - Packet 3: What is packet 3, who is going to receive it, who is it going to receive it petitioner/beneficiary and is it going to be mailed or emailed?

Question 3 - packet 4: What is packet 4?

I tried looking it up on the forum but was not able to find a topic on these.

I wish you all good luck with your case. If there is any more details anyone of you need please let me know. Thanks

Hi Everyone,

Is anyone waiting on the decision from TSC?

The USCIS received my case on December 10th - since then I am waiting for them to provide a decision. I submitted a Service Request and recently I received an email stating that I am going through some security checks and they wont make any decision until they get updates, they said they are not sure abou the time frame on security checks?

Did anyone ever heard or experienced this with their case? I would appreciate all your responses.

Thanks in adavnce!

I have completed 6 months of time frame and wrote letter to the member of congress.

This is what I received in mail today "At this time, USCIS records confirms this case for Mr. MB is pending. We are unable to determine at this time when the review process for the I-129F will be completed"

I don't know how to react to this letter.

Thanks,

Hi Jim,

Visa journey is just providing you an estimate of what the system thinks when you should receive your NOA2, you sent your application to USCIS so you have to wait for uSCIS time frame of 5 months for processing. If doesn't hurt to call USCIS but i am sure they will say that you haven't completed the regular 5 months of processing time frame.

Morning Everyone,

I am also December first week TSC filer. I haven't received any updates after the alien registration updated. I cheked couple of cases before and ahead of me and it looks like all the cases stopped at the alien registration number. Since we all filed in December we should wait for normal processing months. If nothing happen by that time then we can annoy the hell out of people at the processing centers :)

I wish everyone good luck and hope things go well for everyone including myself.

Thanks

I suggest you both reference IRS list, to the op base upon igors list VSC is processing petitions from September, they will likely really get into October petitions in another week or two
As a VSC filer myself I do not pay as much attention to csc, based upon igores list I would say they are solidly in July

Ours is through the California service center. I have no idea who to contact or if they're also processing July cases?

You can email NCSC at NCSC-Customerconnet@uscis.dhs.gov. (this is for all the processing centers)

Put you vital info like Case number,Petitioner name and Applicant name. write a short email stating when did you file, when did you receive your NOA1 and its been xxx months and we havent received anything yet.

they normally email back within 10-15 days.

We're in the same boat. We applied and they received around october 4th. We were hoping to get a reply sometime next month. But if they're only on july's did they get you an estimate onto when they'd begin the applicants from october? We are growing so very tired emotionally as well. The patience is hard.

The people are at VSC are like robots, they are reading the info from the website. it gets to your nerves.

The answer to any of our questions is " we are not at the capacity to have that answer" or " We dont know"

They did asked me to email to the NCSC ( Email is NCSC-Customerconnet@uscis.dhs.gov). i got a email from them after 15 days.

Dear Harsh Sheth:

On behalf of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), thank you for your email, dated February 22, 2013, regarding your Form I-129F, Petition for Alien Fiancé(e).

We understand the concern that caused you to write. USCIS records show that your case was received on October 3, 2012. The Vermont Service Center is processing Form I-129F petitions that were received on or before July 2, 2012. Therefore, your case is still within the normal processing time of other cases of this type at this office.

We trust that this information is helpful.

Sincerely,
National Customer Service Center

Hi, have you gotten your visa yet? This might be a little different because I went through the US Consulate  in Montreal, Canada (I am a Canadian citizen) but i had my interview Jan 29th 2014 and I am still waiting on my visa! It will have been 4 weeks since my interview on Wednesday. Did they tell you you were "approved"? If yes, they won't be undergoing administrative processing otherwise they wold've told you.. so you have nothing to worry about with the age difference. I was a bit worried because it's taken so long but all the checks have been done, I was approved so now it's just a matter of waiting for them to print it out, stamp it in the passport and send it out! They can take so long! What does your status day online?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsStill waiting on my K-1 post interview-approval!

Hi everyone! So I had my K-1 visa interview at the US Consulate in Montreal almost 4 weeks ago to the day! I was approved and the interviewer said I should receive my visa the following week. We have submitted a couple of inquiries on the Consulate website as to when my visa is going to be issued and this is the reply we got:

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry.

Please be advised that you non-immigrant fiancé visa application is currently under consular review. You will be contacted very shortly with further updates.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Sincerely,

OP19

Correspondence Unit

U.S. Consulate General in Montreal

Has anyone had this message?? Is this an automatic message they send to anyone who submits an inquiry? And does anyone know what "Consular Review" is?? If it was Administrative Processing they would have told me at the interview, right? Any advice would help!!!

Ps my status on CEAC says "Ready" and was last updated 10 days ago

Thanks :)

I think they were being cheeky...as in, government workers are below stupid people.

I worked for the federal government in Canada for 3 years (hoping to again very soon) so it kind of bugs me. Not all government employees are lazy, stupid drones in an office.

Heh, you said cheeky.

Sorry I'm still at work and my brain is too fried to pick up on sarcasm...which is my first language so I'm a bit ashamed.

I don't think all government employees are lazy. I think a lot of them have to deal with being underpaid, underemployed, and understaffed. I wonder if those at the CSC realize that each file contains 2 or more lives.

What?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsCSC - Five-Month Hold???
Well the way I look at it: I am closer now than I ever have been. Back in August and September when the CSC was at a halt for K visas things were grim and dire. I was sure we'd not hear back until 2011 due to the back log, but here we are. It's November and they are starting late June petitions. Mine is only a few weeks away and I'm certain, unless they decide to stop again, we'll be approved just shy of our 5 month mark (Dec 7). I can do this.

After this step it all moves faster (on average). This is the hardest part. After the visa is approved, we can at least get through the rest of this ridiculous process in the same location. Sorting through awful paperwork and stressing over notifications is a great deal easier when you're living with your SO.

I used to work in a call centre doing tech support and sometimes I would hear other reps tell their customers the most grossly inaccurate information that they somehow conjured from our support guides. I would cringe at the thought of the customer believing them. I feel like we are blowing some idiot's misinformation waaayyyy out of proportion here. Let's face it, these people aren't really USCIS reps, they're phone jockeys probably making $9/hr. They're not immigration experts. Take their "information" with a grain of salt. It wasn't that long ago they were telling people here that they're still working on April petitions. When was the last time you saw an April person get approved? Months ago!

Here here! I'm on a positivity train that's never derailing!
