IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresLondon Medical & Vaccinations
I worked it out according to the vaccine schedule and it looks like ages 18-64yrs only require proof of MMR & Tdap (adacel). Children of course need a whole bunch & over 65 also need a flu shot. Does anyone know if all medical records from GP have to be brought to Knightsbridge doc?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresLondon approved expedite...no appointment yet
I thought medical reports are forwarded to embassy within a week...call Knightsbridge & find out if they did in fact send it and if so, call the NVC and tell them that its urgent they set up your interview for the next available appt because of deployment (they can get you one within 3-4 days according to the posted london timeline) ...ask for a supervisor if you have to. If you are successful & get an appt for next week, ask if they will email the appt letter since you will need it for interview & can't wait for it to come in the post. If you didn't send US sized passport photos to NVC, bring those & enough money on a debit/credit card for courier service (ask to epedite that as well). I've never tried it but that's what I would do in your situation...maybe someone with experience can suggest something more. Good Luck to you!
PS: if he's a legal resident of the UK, where his passport was issued shouldn't matter. Did you forward police certificates from all countries lived in since age 16? and court records if he had any convictions? that would probably matter.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHELP VJ
There is an entire section on the National Visa Center Processing stage that lists all the Original Documents you are required to send. It does state NOT to send anything to NVC unless you are asked for it, BUT applicant is required to bring ALL originals to interview EXCEPT what was already sent to NVC...they do say you need to provide 2 passport sized photos of the applicant(person immigrating), so if you don't send them to NVC you should bring them to interview for sure...this is in addition to the ones you sent to USCIS. Some people need another photo for the medical so I would get atleast 3. You may also want to check the embassy website where your interview will be because for us it seems London wants 3 photos whereas NVC only says 2. It can't hurt to have an extra because nothing would be worse than to have your visa held up at the interview stage just because of a picture. Here's the link I have been trying to memorize. Just remember "applicant" refers to the person immigrating, not the "petitioner" in the NVC stage...I was a bit confused about this at first. Here's the link to dept of state website. Good Luck!

My husband had his Tdap yesterday but can MMR & Varicella titres (blood test for immunity) be used for the medical in lieu of shots?? He had the chicken pox as a child & also received measles, mumps & rubella vaccines but at 47yrs old cannot get proof other than blood test. He's a little pansy about getting shots, but doesn't mind blood drawn LOL...was traumatized by needles as a kid =)

If he has a green card than he is a LPR and has the same rights as a US citizen to file a petition for you. You should be very happy about your approval!! Now, the next step gets a bit tricky. Congrats & Good Luck!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresSpousal Visa Info
He can work as soon as he arrives in the the states as a LPR (legal permanent resident) he can also work with a K3 fiance visa, but you must marry within 90 days of him arriving. If he is going to come over to get married I think he has to apply for a fiance visa first. You can't use a visitors visa for marriage purposes. Its the same for you if you wanted to marry in his country...you would have to apply for a marriage/fiance visa. This is what I did when we got married in england. After the wedding you would apply for IR1/CR1 visa (I-130 petition for alien relative) it takes about 9 mos-1yr to complete the entire process although some do it in less time & some take longer if there are complications like overstaying a visa or criminal record.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about proofs of a bonafide marriage?
Affidavits of people who knew your husband was living with you for 9 months would help. Any bills with both your names on them? I asked my bank about setting up a joint bank acct but hubby has to be here in person to sign...although if you can find a bank such as HSBC that has branches in the UK as well, you might be able to open an acct & have hubby go to a branch over there to sign papers & fax them to the states. If you can add him as beneficiary to anything, that can be used. I only sent phone bills, boarding passes, 2 letters from relatives and marriage cert. of course. It was before I joined here & boy do I wish I knew then what I know now! lol Don't stress too much because some people on here have sent very little and still got an approval. Gather what you can & gather more to bring to interview is the best advice anyone can give. Good luck!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresBirth Certificates AND Passports of children?
It seems that every US embassy varies slightly on what documents they want...ie: London asks for Original Birth Certs for all unmarried children under 21, even if Not immigrating. NVC doesn't ask for these to be sent ahead of interview. London also wants 3 passport photos, not 2 like NVC requires. Canada may ask for various other stuff. It would be wise for everyone to locate their embassy's document checklist and bring to interview anything that wasn't sent to NVC.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresProof of bonafide marriage
I only sent in what was asked for as well, apart from phone bills & boarding passes. I didn't even think to send photos, just figured they would be concentrating on more legalities like proof I was a USC & Authenticity of marriage cert. I also made a boo boo on G325a...I signed both! lol It should be interesting to see who gets the bona RFE & who doesn't..

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI 864 & Child Support
I am using a combination of wages & child support to qualify as sponsor. Since child support isn't included as income on my 1040, what should be sent to prove what I received last year? My ex is garnished through child support unit & I get weekly direct deposits. Do I have to send a year's worth of bank statements showing this? Should I just get a printout from support unit of all payments? USCIS already has divorce papers showing the amount judge awarded..thanks for any insight.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHelp!? Problems with RFE for bonafide marriage
I am getting paranoid now with all of these RFE's...I must say I'd rather have this than the unfortunate ones who get put into "extensive background checks" which apparently can take an additional 6 mos?? Surely if they can enter info & spit out an NOA1 so quickly, then they could have people checking for evidence & issuing RFE's a bit earlier in the process?!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresmedical exam

How long, from the time your case lands at the Embassy, does it take for them to send you your Interview Appointment Letter/Email? We've been waiting for over a month.

My guess would be that NVC is waiting on Manila to issue your appt. date...I would get on the phone to Manila and find out why you've been waiting for over a month. Maybe someone with experience at that embassy has more useful info..I hope you hear soon!

Some people have luck just giving NVC Case# when booking medical...St. Lukes is where your medical will be right? Call & ask...it says on St. Lukes website that you should have interview appt letter/email "if possible". Click through The Medical links on embassy's website & read all that you need for interview prep. Good Luck!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresEvidence of bona fide relationship affidavits
I think it depends on your circumstances what uscis will expect. If you have been married for like 10yrs, I doubt they will care about photos etc..probably co-mingling of finances would be more appropriate. If you met and married shortly after, then proof of ongoing relationship, affidavits, photos, boarding passes, chat logs, phone bills...those are more what they would would look for. Just my common sense opinion. I sent 2 letters of affidavit from our best man & maid of honor that they wrote themselves, not notarized...however, we have not been approved yet, so do what works for you. I couldn't find anything in the instructions that said they had to be notarized...just certain info that needed to be included in the letters.

Well, although the NVC often loses/misplaces/says never received things, I read that before the NVC was implemented the consulate posts used to do all of it and they couldn't handle the workload so Immigrant Visas took years sometimes. I know its frustrating but just hang in there! You're almost done, and some people are getting much worse RFE's than yours. Soon you'll be together and this will all be a distant memory.

Have you called your congressman or senator yet? Some people on here have had luck with that but be sure to tell them you want your case expedited because your wife is now facing homelessness because of the mistake. Overnight another original Affidavit of Support with huge lettering on a cover page saying "3rd Submission, Please Expedite". That's just what I would do in your position...good luck & keep us posted.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAffidavit of support, Pay stubs needed?
The instructions say if you are self employed, check box 22b...one of the following forms should have been filed with their 1040: Schedule C, D, E or F. One of these must be attached to 1040. This would be enough, no paystubs needed when self employed. Some people get a letter from employer instead of using paystubs, they are just one option of proving current employment. If they have been in business for a few years, you may want to include prior years tax returns with all schedules attached, to show steady income.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresFiling I-130
Hi Shergar,
I would send original affidavits, keep a copy for your records. Also, I have read on here that the affidavits don't mean squat if they are just attesting to your wedding. They should be from people who have spent time with you since your relationship began with some details of things you did together leading up to them attending the wedding. Send a couple of pics from different visits since you first met leading up to a few of the wedding/honeymoon & a few since the wedding if you have them. I would think 20 max. and if you send chat, start from when you first chatted leading up to now..give them a glimpse of each month you've been together, maybe one msg from each week. Phone bills, boarding passes, skype sessions, financial co-mingling of any kind...just enough to show ongoing relationship without going overboard. As far as address change, I think its as easy as a phone call or an online procedure. Your employment doesn't matter as much as your sponsor's does so don't stress over that too much...Don't wait to file, the wait is long enough! Good luck..

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMedical Question
Anyone ages 18-64yrs old are required to have Tdap, MMR & Varicella(or history of having chicken pox). All other vaccines are optional. The kingston embassy's website doesn't give many details about the medical exam process but I believe you can schedule an exam with one of their embassy physician's as long as you have your NVC#...however, it states you will need your appt letter & medical form filled out to bring to exam (is mailed to you when your interview appt is scheduled) I found the info here...

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresOriginal or Certified Copies of Documents To NVC
Its up to you but most people have applicant assign USC spouse as choice of agent by emailing the DS-3032. (see NVC shortcuts on VJ) Then you the petitioner will receive all correspondence from NVC. Your wife would have to send all original documents, photos & filled/signed forms etc. to you & you will forward everything to NVC (also must include a photocopy of everything sent) NVC will forward it all to the embassy so when she goes for interview it will be there (have your wife make a copy of everything before sending it to you so she has a file for interview just in case something goes missing) I haven't got that far yet, but I am ready!!

Saylin covered it! Good luck..

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresApplying I129F. can we marry before
If you want to marry in Ireland your fiance has to apply for a marriage/fiance visa...you must follow the laws of your country for the marriage to be legal. My husband & I married in England and it was so EASY compared to the US fiance visa route. If you are both OK with marrying in Ireland then I recommend it. Then when your wife returns to the states, have her file I-130 petition for spouse visa. If you definitely want to marry in the states then you would apply for a K-1 fiance visa (it will take a while to get) After you travel to the states on your K-1 visa you would have to marry within 90days. After wedding you would then file an AOS (adjustment of status) to become a legal permanent resident...that's another whole process, but you be able to remain & live with your wife while waiting for it to be approved.

Looks Good...you explained the wedding situation which helps. I didn't even send a cover letter...I literally threw the package together & paperclipped it the day before I was flying out to visit my husband. No wedding photos, no chat logs, no money wires...a couple boarding passes, a few recent phone bills & 2 affidavits from relatives. Mine will be the anorexic packet amongst the obese! lol..if 10 visits in 2yrs doesn't prove bona fides then they'll get the kitchen sink next time around. Yours sounds more prepared..

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresJoint sponsor
Did he claim other dependants on his 1040 tax return that he didn't report on I864? Does he sponsor any other immigrants besides you? If his income exceeds poverty level for the household size then this doesn't make sense for the embassy to request a co-sponsor.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresComplicated income situation
They can definitely use the equity in the real estate you own, plus the $40,000 cash, plus your wife's equity in her condo. The whole point of using assets is for people who's line 22 isn't sufficient. Not all income is claimed on line 22...my line 22 isn't enough, but I receive child support that is not reported on 1040 and I have the proof that I receive it weekly. You already submitted I-864 right? See what they come back with...if they ask for more, give them more.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresComplicated income situation
This is complicated. I am almost sure they will take your income reported on schedule C, plus assets. What is your family size and what did you claim as earned income in schedule C? This info will help figure if you have enough assets, but it sounds like you have plenty of equity & cash. Most self employed investors take a loss, but they still take a cut to live off of...
