Congratulations! It's good to see a July filer get an approval biggrin.gif

Well, I checked the website for approvals for VSC...there were 3 yesterday...1 from Sept. and 2 from Oct.

There is movement just not for June-July....

Come on VSC....got find those crates that someone left in the truck!!!!!!!

You have no idea how great it would be if they could just tell me that they know without question that they know where my petition is. Actually, you know that better than I do. laughing.gif

I really hate that Lindsay has to go through this. It has to be harder on her than it is on me.

THey seriously won't tell you its not lost?!

... You'd think if there was even the SLIGHTEST possibility that they lost it they'd ask for you to mail a new one? I mean okay, that's you know... LOGIC.. but ....

They always tell me they know exactly where it is. It just doesn't get worked on.

Hey guys..I just heard back from our congressmans office and they received an email back from their
inquiry and it said that our file was in the "processing unit"....has anyone ever heard that term used and
if so....do you know what that means?

Of course, that statement was followed by the statement that they (the congressman) could call back and check
in....are you ready for this....."30 to 60 days"....YEP....I know all of you are totally and completely shocked by that
statement!! wacko.gif wacko.gif wacko.gif

Oh. No, I'm not surprised at all. When I hit six months I asked my congressman to look into it and they said that I'd been with an adjudicator as of 11/28. (i'm unclear if that means that the crate was simply checked out, or if it was being worked). That was followed by the statement that if I hadn't heard by January I was welcome to call back. This was right around the 29th, or so. I called January 9th because I still hadn't heard and she said that I should really expect the NOA1- NOA2 process to take a YEAR, but if I hadn't heard by mid-February I could call back again. I'm sure if I haven't heard by Mid-Feb and I call them back again I'll be told to call back again in March.

Bah I tried to edit this and it got eaten.

We're gonna get approved eventually Charlene, just you wait! And, its worth it no?

And extra luv.gif to everybody here that's offered suggestions, tips, commiseration, encouragement, and shared lots of laughs as we all wait. You guys have all been wonderful and I'm grateful that I have all of you to share this time with. If I was going it alone I'd have gone stark raving crackers by now!

Yeah I was afraid that it meant nothing....but I was just curious....I guess everyone is down it seems and quiet the last few days...I totally relate...
I have got to focus on something else...or this is going to take its toll on me....

I hope the next time I pull this up there will be better news!!!!!!!!

I agree. I have to take breaks or I get a little overly upset about it. But, its also good to have support. It's a fine balance I think.

I re-read what I wrote last night.. 'just you wait!' and it made me laugh this morning. Yeah, that's what we're gonna do, unfortunately. wait.

But we will have good news soon. I have faith that Lora will at least get a reply soon. She's gotten touches! they can't be bad tongue.gif

You're very welcome. Anything I can do to spread smiles amongst we downtrodden.

I called and talked to a lady at VSC and she actually put me on hold and (presumably didn't fetch herself a coffee) checked on my case. She actually thought the current processing date was June 1! I had to tell her I wish that it were! But anyway, she said my case was 'where it needed to be to make a decision' (whatever that means) and i should hear in a week to ten days. Of course I don't believe a lick of it, but I was advised to write down the name of any officers or customer service agents I speak to and what they said to me. So, recorded. But anyway. Fun.

Hey Lora. Oh man work has been so insane that today I took a mental health day and went out for a while and bought things to spoil my cat with. tongue.gif

No touches. No approval. No word back from my senator. I'll probably call tomorrow to make sure they actually recieved the fax that sent last monday/ it went to correct office.

Yay for progress in Camp Mirla, though!! Haven't seen Virgil about though.

Good to hear from you......wish you would hear something though.........Mental health days are a necessary fact of life for early June filers at this point....I talked with Virgil and he is waiting for answers from everyone also.....what a nightmare.......Every morning I wake up and hope this is the day for all of us........I just do not get it.........They approve October.....89 days after they file and we are pushing to 230 and nothing........I have just about lost my mind that is why I going to Peru for a chance to reconnect and decompress..........I really hope soon we will move from this hole called VSC.....and then move as fast as Mirla the rest of the way..........

Hopefully you will! London is taking two or three months for an interview, but I can wait at that point, easy enough. As long as I know the end is actually coming, I can deal! We're not putting his notice in that he's leaving until he's approved anyway, and that'll be another month at least. But I'd like to get a move on!

I keep thinking when I sign in that I'll have gotten a touch, at least, but no. I seriously, just think they lost it, even if they said its with an adjudicator. If that was the case I'd get a touch, and they've been saying that since Thanksgiving. Maybe my adjudicator took a REALLY LONG holiday vacation.. thanksgiving through Valentines.

Still laughing about the cheetos thing tho. still funny 12 hours later. I sent that to Pete too. biggrin.gif

I think. unsure.gif

Yeah but they aren't saying 'six months' anymore. They're saying 'currently processing June 18'

United KingdomPolice Certificate aquisition issue
I gave my fiance the following directions which i literally copied and pasted form the forums:

To obtain a Police Certificate in the UK, go to your local police station and request a form called "Subject Access". Send send this with the £10 fee to the Data Protection Officer of the police force for the area you are resident in.

He went and they sent him to: http://www.ico.gov.uk/

which is the most poorly designed website in the world! THe officer at the local station said to go there and submit an initial request to get the form sent to him, so that he can send it BACK.

.... IF that really is the case does ANYBODY know where on that horrible website it is buried, and secondly ... if that really is the case.. a request so that you can request information? How utterly... governmental. *sigh*

Any help would be HUGELY appreciated.

On a side note: Anyone else have problems ordering water in the US? That's the only hurdle I've encountered on my visits. My requests for water were not understood in five separate restaurants - and one lady even asked if I'd said 'lemonade'. I have no problem ordering anything else, and my accent isn't that obtuse! (I have a Sussex/London accent).

Water... Lemonade... hmmm - no I still can't find any similarity in pronunciation!! I find it is pronounced more like "wodder" in SoCal laughing.gif

Ok - so how many people living in the US now have picked up some of the accent so they have a UK/US hybrid?!!?

I haven't picked up anything buy vocabulary off Pete. I tend to say bin instead of garbage can, and its caused some confusion at work, but that's life. I've noticed a tendency to use 'reckon' on occasion, as well as occasionally ringing someone, instead of calling them, but that's just occasionally.

I can't even imitate his accent very well, its just a very clipped northern accent and I just can't seem to do it, though Pete loves to poke a bit of fun at my new york accent.

"Oh, Cassie (my cat) is very sawwwwwft is she?"

I had to order for Pete at the bar during my Christmas party. He requested a beer and got. "I'm sorry, sir, a what?' the first three times. (it was actually pretty funny).

Neil is from Newcastle and no one understand him. He gets blank stares or people just laugh like they think he said a joke or something. We had a waitress last week fake all sorts of accents because she thought he was faking his laughing.gif

That happens to Pete a lot, he's from Manchester. He was just here and we went to my company Christmas party and he had to repeat himself four times before the barmaid understood that he wanted a beer and not a bea-ah. (She really said that back to him. a Bee-ah?) He was a good sport, but I think that'll just be the start of many.

He then got a Bud and then whispers in my ear. "What do I do with this? It tastes like cat pee."

Poor thing underestimated how bad American beer can be.

chinemeze, how did UScis tolld you that your case was now assigned to an adjucator? Did they put you on hold and transfer you to one of the representatives in csc? Coz Ive filed my case close to yours, so I'm expecting were on the same batch.

I used the RFE trick and was transfered to CSC, the lady I spoke to asked me for my case # and she started to tell me that it was not yet 6 months, but I told her that I had mailed it in since 5/29/07. Then she told me to wait and seemed to have looked into another screen besides the one we all see, then she told me that my case has been assigned to an officer and that it could be about 2 to 3 weeks to get it approved. Altthough I did not ask her when it was assigned, I know that it could be more or less the time before I see the approval. Besides, the call I made has not triggered any changes to my online status as far as being touched.

What exactly is this RFE trick? I've seen it mentioned bunches of times but no explanation? helpsmilie.gif

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionAffadavit of Support- job letter question
I asked Hr specifically for a letter that stated how long I had been employed at my current job, and my current salary.

I was given a standard job verification letter. DO i have to go back and ask for another. They specifically stated that if they require more information to call at (phone number) but, it seems like that might be too much hassel for the processor. Do i have to go back and have them do it again?

Thanks.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionQuestion about UK Police report
QUOTE (roverdriver @ Sep 25 2007, 03:21 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
My fiancee sent off the form to get her police report from Scotland Yard about 2-2 1/2 weeks ago.

She has her packet from the embassy prepared and we're wondering if she should go ahead and tic off that she has the police report and send in pages 1-4 for the embassy packet along with the DS forms now, or just send the DS forms for now.

Has anyone here had delays getting the police report? It looks like it's about 30 days from sending in the packet to getting the interview, so according to the UK law, she should have the report by then.

She's pretty stressed and worried about this whole process, so I thought I'd ask to see how long on average it's taken people to get the police report back.
Thanks.

Is there a place to get this form? I'm coming up on 'should' get my NOA2 soonish, and would rather get it early than have to delay the process waiting on it later on.

Just curious.

Thanks!

Out of general curiosity how can you tell when your application has been touched? I assume that's what that means?

If you register on www.uscis.gov and create a portfolio with your case # (WAC...), you can check the last time your case was updated on their end. And when you check your portfolio compulsively every hour, you know immediately that it has not been touched in months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! crying.gif wacko.gif wacko.gif blink.gif wacko.gif blink.gif crying.gif wacko.gif blink.gif crying.gif
I just saved you 13.4 minutes on the phone with a USCIS customer service rep that would have told you the same thing (ie useless info for your personal case...) You're welcome.

I am getting insane, I am going to bed (after checking my portfolio one last time of course...)

Ah. I do check it once in a while, to try and avoid being depressed but every time I see it hasn't been changed since June 14th I just get depressed anyway. Just wondering. Thanks for the quick reply!

Here are some observations based on comparing NOA2 approval times on the VisaJourney website and our own personal experience:

CSC APPROVAL PERIOD ABOUT 4 MONTHS FOR NOA2's:

The California Service Center (CSC) appears to be taking approximately 4 months or so to issue NOA2's. Upon reviewing the CSC timelines on VisaJourney, approval appears to be occuring about 125 - 145 days following the NOA1 date. The USCIS website says that CSC is taking up to "6 months" to process I-129F petitions but about 4 months (give or take a couple of weeks) appears to be more accurate at the moment. This is supported by the recent approvals of many May CSC filers.

MY DANG PETITION HAS NEVER BEEN "TOUCHED":

Your petition remains a virgin and has never been "touched"? Do not become overly depressed about this. Alas, this is rather common. For many of us (including myself), our petitions are first touched and approved on the same day. Thus, USCIS Case Status Online will frequently not show any touches prior to approval.

By this evening, I will be at 121 days since my NOA1 date. I am still hoping to have my approval by the end of this month. Trying to think positive. good.gif

I am in the same boat, application filed on May 8th (140 days ago) it was received on May 29th (119 days ago, 3 weeks to open a fre@king envelope...) and my last and only touch was on June 1st. Even after 3 phone calls, nothing was touched (I now doubt they even looked at my case when I was on the phone with them...)... I do hope, especially with the last progresses, to have my approval by the end of this week (as my ever moving VJ Timeline is telling me) and if everything goes according to plan, the love of my life with leave the US embassy in Bern to jump into the plane on October 20th and the wedding ceremony (administrative, casual) is scheduled on October 27th. Pretty ambitious I know... That's why I am a bit anxious...

Wish me luck.

Stephan

I am hoping to have my fiancee here by Christmas. If the sun, moon and stars align themselves just right and if USCIS gets their butts in gear, it may still happen. Good luck May filers. good.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsevidence of support???
QUOTE (YuAndDan @ Nov 14 2007, 09:16 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
US Citizen provides this, in the form of an I-134, and financial evidence proving income. DS-156K is the K-Visa application filled out by the beneficiary and given to the consulate for the K-Visa.

The directions included with I-134 are very old, USCIS has no reason to update them since USCIS has no application for that form.

The consulates tend to treat the I-134 like a mini-I-864 as so prefer the same financial evidence as the I-864.

In our case this what the I-134 included.
  • I-134 signed and notarized.
  • SIMPLE Tax transcripts from the IRS for past 3 years, (Redundant for the (1040,W2,1099) but are free from the IRS http://www.irs.gov/faqs/faq1-6.html
  • Photo copy of IRS form 1040, and W2s for past 3 years (Not necessary if you provide the transcripts)
  • Letter from my employer stating annual salary, job responsibility, and that is full time, on company letterhead.
  • Photo copies of past month or so of pay stubs up to a few weeks before the interview.
My income was well above the povertyline so I did not include any asset data (LIKE BANK STATEMENTS or property values).

If your income exceeds 125% of the povertyline when counting yourself, prospective immigrant and any dependents, then don't bother with assets (401K, Bank balance, Stocks etc..), it is just extra un-needed data to provide, the consular officer is most concerned with INCOME.

Does this take expenses and debt into account? I have college loans, car loans, outstanding credit debt for plane, train and hotel expenses for visits to the UK etc. I was just wondering. I mean we've been saving and saving to make sure that we met the assets requirement if we had to, and my mother said she'd co-sponsor if shereally really had to, but I'd rather not do that to her. I make well above the line, but probably not annually if you take that into account.

Just curious. unsure.gif

Hi

I'm very worried about my visa status. There is no update on the touch online, since July 7th. Its been 146 days since we received NOA1. My fiance has hired a lawyer and he says everything will go fine. I'm worried since most of the June filers have got NOA2. Anyone else in the same boat? Does a call to VSC help?

June 21, 2007 : I-129F sent to VSC
June 27, 2007 : NOA1 (from VSC)
July 7 2007 : Touch

Online status - Case received and pending from June 25th

--Kavitha

Mine hasn't been updated since June 14th, the date my NOA1 was issued. Looks like a lot of June filers are getting looked at currently. SOON!!! ClockWatch2.gif

er....perhaps I should get a job with USCIS now? I've been in the mood for chocolate. And historically, if I am fed on the job at someone else's expense, I am a better worker:)
However, did it ever occur to some people that you may actually slow down USCIS by sending them a big box of chocolates? Too busy eating chocolates to work on your cases:)
Although if I was a supervisor opening the box and I was short on meeting my quotas because of some slack off phone monkeys or approval people, I know how to get them to work faster...BRIBE with the chocolates!:) There, more cases approved AND my quota goes up.

Personally, I'm hoping for a sugar-rush fed productivity surge! we can only dream. tongue.gif
