It wasn't my fault I filled what was on the passport ,i mean filled the date of birth on the passport on my application form then and when the passport expired about five years ago i ensured that i have the authentic details on them and i have even travelled with the passport to some part of Europe to study and few months ago, the passport also expired and i just have it renew

How is it not your fault? You should have gotten the problem fixed as soon as you realized it was the wrong year. The fact that you knowingly used the wrong birth date on several visa applications could definitely go against you. There was a Moroccan applicant a few months ago who lied about about a previous marriage on a tourist visa application, and was given a life ban at his CR-1 interview because the embassy found out about it. Lying in any way to immigration results in serious consequences, especially if it happened more than once.

When you applied for the other previous visas, did you put your correct birth year on the applications?

oohpartivFemaleEcuador2013-05-18 21:28:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCR-1

How is it possible that you used an incorrect birth date and name for four visa applications? Something's not right here. If they realize that you lied (or are lying) to immigration, you'll get a lifetime ban. In other words, yes, it could be a huge problem. Clarification, please?

Why won't you leave them with their mother until you arrive, get settled, have a job;. and then you can send for them and their mother because i am sure they will miss her. Hint: Hint:

Huh? OP is already married to a USC, who is apparently not the mother. There would be no way for him to petition the mother of his children, since they are obviously not married.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHELP!!!! NVC

Can we see which interview dates are going on to be available next? If yes, then how?

Like MedRoni said, no, you can't see what dates are available because the date is given to you. You can't really even know how long it will be until you're given the date or where you are in the waiting line. You can look at other timelines here on VJ to get an idea, but that's more of an estimation. You basically just have to wait.

If you've already received the case complete email from NVC, the only thing left to do is wait for an interview to be scheduled. They'll be in touch via email as soon as an interview date becomes available.

I don't know where you get your information, but six months of pay stubs are not required. A letter from the employer and/or a few months pay stubs are sufficient. On my husband's I-864(he is from Jordan) all I had was an employment letter with my salary and conformation I worked there and for how long I was employed, no pay stubs.

Just passing along information from the guides posted here on VJ, along with what Saylin recommends. Better to be over prepared than be missing evidence. good.gif

My wife is the one who is in Jordan lol. Shes already got her police certificate, birth certificate. Shes good to go. My co-sponser is my father and hes done with his taxes everything just needs to get the records so we can get it ready to send in. Those are just the main things I have ready. What else would I need to prepare before I depart to see the wifey?

D'oh! Sorry! laughing.gif

Your Dad should also get his pay stubs for the last six months, an employment letter from his boss, and some way to prove his US citizenship (a photocopy of his passport would work just fine). Also, even though your Dad is your co-sponsor, you still have to fill out the I-864 like him, and (assuming you're employed) provide all the same documents as him.

Definitely take advantage of your trip to get your hubby's docs in order! There are a few things he's going to need to get, so I would definitely try to get it done soon, considering some countries take a while to get police records, or birth certificates.

Here's a super helpful link that outlines the NVC process and all the necessary docs.

Maybe before you go, you can try to get your AOS paperwork so that way if your case number and payments come through while you're abroad, you can send them out immediately? Just a thought. Good luck! smile.png

hi vj members....

i have a question i still not receive email from nvc bout the ds3032 but i have my nvc case number already...

is it ok to send email ds3032  to NVCINQUIRY@state.gov  even though i didnt receive email from them yet?

thanks vj members all ur reply much appreciated....

Absolutely! If you've already got your case number, and have turned over your email addresses to the NVC rep, go ahead and send the DS3032 format from the beneficiary's email. You should hear back in 10 - 14 days.

If they just asked for the transcripts, just send in the transcripts. This happened to many of us who filed before April 15th, but usually they asked to have the 2012 transcripts brought to the interview instead of having them sent to NVC. Have you tried calling and explaining the situation to a supervisor? Sometimes you can get them to agree to close the case (assuming those transcripts are the only thing missing from your file) if you agree to present the final missing item (the transcripts, in this case) at the interview.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDoes address change to a DIFFERENT STATE affect the processing time with NVC

Thanks.

So, NVC does not work by area of jurisdiction? I mean how USCIS work like (California service center, Vermont service center etc?)

Nope. The only thing that happens according to location is when the interview is scheduled, because the wait on a date depends on what embassy the beneficiary is going through and how busy it is at the point in time. As long as you give the rep your email addresses when you call for your case number, all correspondence will be through email.

oohpartivFemaleEcuador2013-05-24 19:12:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDoes address change to a DIFFERENT STATE affect the processing time with NVC

Your communication with NVC will be through email... They won't send you any hardcopies through snail mail, like USCIS does. It doesn't matter if you change your address, just make sure you put the updated one on the DS230 when you mail in the IV package. Keep in mind this will be the address her SSN and green card will arrive to.

Are you sure that I should put (574) 999-9999 on the DS-230 form? Is that how you guys did it? Because I saw an example of the DS-230 form and it looked like this >> +999-9999 so I guess thats why i'm confused.

Well Ecuadorian numbers are different, but we put ours like this: (593)99-99-9999, but we also had the option to put it like this: +099-999-9999. Depends on how you want to put it. Either way would be fine, I'm sure.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDS-230 QUESTIONS (merged)

For the phone number, the 011 part is just when calling from the States - it's not officially the country code. The country could would just be 574. So, I would list the number as (574) 999-9999.

As for the province question, shouldn't your husband know that? blink.png  I can't say if that's the name of the province or not, but I'd imagine so. My hubby is from Bahia de Caraquez, Manabi, Ecuador. Manabi is the province. I'd assume Colombia has the same system.

Yea but that's the point, because what's the point of waiting a few weeks to see if he gets anything in the mail and instead as soon as he gets to the States he should go and apply for one.

Well, you seem to already have made up your mind, so why ask? If you would rather have him apply in person, put "no" on the paper and have him to go the office after his POE.

oohpartivFemaleEcuador2013-05-22 12:55:00

I would put "yes" for the SSN question. If he gets to the States and doesn't hear anything after a few weeks, he can just go in person to ask what's going on, or apply again. It can't hurt, anyway.

Just out of curiosity, why do you want a joint sponsor cover letter? I just had one AOS cover letter, and put all the contents in there (obviously making it obvious which were mine and which were the joint sponsor's). Unless you have to explain something, in which case I would get it.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedurestimeline of IR1/CR1

1. She has one year to turn in the NVC documents.

2. The NVC schedules the interviews, and those for Canada are usually pretty quick.

3. Yep, six months - buuuut, I do believe it's six months after the medical is done, not after the visa is received (but maybe somebody else can clarify here).

If you were going to delay something, I would recommend you do it during the NVC step, since that part of the process is pretty much up to you insofar as how fast  you get the docs and send them in. Just make sure you don't lose track of time!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhat is the fastest way for a foreign spouse to enter US?

Since she already left the US for her home country, it's not a question of what's fastest but what's available - and your only option is the CR-1. There aren't a number of spouse visas you can choose from... only this one. The K3 would have been the quicker option a number of years ago, but it's now obsolete since it takes just as long as the CR-1 does, and usually gets closed once NVC or the embassy sees an approved I-130 on file.

Read up on the CR-1 process and start getting ready. It takes around 8 - 12 months to get through the whole process, so I would get started ASAP if I were you.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresneed ur guyz help ... about the I-864 & I-864 A

Zollo80  its strongly suggested the cosponcer for the financial support document be a parent ... in my experience I have seen a lot of people end up in Administration process and that is usually a good excuse to leave the case pending.  Also they look for someone who makes more then 40k a year which is above the necessary amount and minimum amount.

Is this a Pakistan specific suggestion?

He fills out the I-864. The I-864a is only for combining household income, like if both your parents were needed to help you out.

He'll also need to include his IRS transcripts from the past three years (2012, 2011, 2010), an employment letter from his boss, pay stubs from the past six months (optional, but good evidence to add), and proof that he's a US citizen (a photocopy of the biographical page from his passport works fine).

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresquestion about the G-325A for a cr-1 visa

Not necessarily.  You have to be prepared for the USCIS to not send on anything you send them.  They do not ask for an original so you do not have to send an original, just a photocopy or a certified copy if you prefer but not the original (or only certified copy you have for example.)

Niki's right. Photocopies are good for USCIS, it's NVC that requires originals. I didn't even realize I put "original" in that first post until I reread it just now. wink.png  Sorry for the mix-up, OP! All the other things do apply.

oohpartivFemaleEcuador2013-05-26 21:21:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresquestion about the G-325A for a cr-1 visa

No, he has to sign it, and it has to be the original signature. You can fill it out, scan and email it to him, and then have him sign it, but he has to send it back through snail mail. It would probably just be easier and quicker for him to fill it out himself and mail it to you, but that's up to you. Good luck!

Edit to add: Yes, you have to send an original of the marriage certificate, along with a translation into English. As to evidence - be creative! Phone bills showing you've called him, skype convos, facebook posts, pictures you have together - all of that works.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNVC QUESTIONS/ COLOMBIAN BENEFICIARIES

COLOMBIAN BENEFICIARIES (OR IF ANYBODY KNOWS THE ANSWERS)

Me and my husband (beneficiary) are wondering how you guys translated your Spanish documents because one time my husband needed to get a document translated and he looked every where and couldn't find any place or anyone to translate his documents. Can he send his documents to me and I can have them translated over here in the US and I can send them to NVC once they're translated? Oh and what did you guys do for the military records? Because my husband has the "libreta militar" should we make a copy of it and send it to NVC?

GENERAL NVC QUESTIONS

  • Do we send all 4 passport photos to NVC? Or does he send two passport photos to NVC and take 2 other passport photos to the medical exams?
  • How will we find out about the interview date? Do we call them everyday after they close the case?
  • Can I send a DS-3032 email exactly how the DS-3032 email template that they have here on VJ?
  • What are the bills that NVC will be invoicing me? Minus the AOS bill. Because I thought that the bills that they were going to be invoicing me was the AOS bill and the IV bill but I heard that they were going to invoice me a DS-230 bill, I thought the IV and DS-230 were the same thing, I thought is was one bill, so it's not?? ?

Thanks everybody!

Ellie smile.png

For the translations, you can definitely have them translated in the US and then send them along to NVC. Usually you can scan the documents and email them to the translator so they can go ahead and start working on them while the hard copies arrive to you in the mail, so you can save time. If you want to include the military records, include them. It's better to be over prepared than be missing something.

- Send two passport pictures to NVC. You'll need more for the medical (the amount varies per country), and two or three more for the interview itself.

- You can call to find out about the interview date, or just wait for them to email you from NVC. The email is sent out the same day the date is made, so it's not like you'd be missing any prep time by not calling.

- Send the template as is, but obviously you'll need to fill in all your own specific info.

- NVC will invoice two bills: The AOS/I-864 bill (88$), and the IV/DS230 (230$).

Good luck!

Hey,

Great! I actually wanted to know if they send out any email confirming they have receievd our packs? You are always very helpful. Thanks a lot smile.png.

No. The only way you can know if they've received them is by tracking them in the mail after sending them off. Many times the workers at NVC don't realize the packages are in the building until they start processing them, which could be a week or more after they actually arrive, so calling to ask would be almost pointless.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresVisa payment

So sorry guys to keep going on, but do you know where the $165 gets paid online? My NVC fees were all paid for, $230 and $88. I haven't seen

anything about $165 in any of the online Visa interview preparation material....

Thanks,

Scott

The 165$ fee just got implemented at the beginning of February this year, and recently two or three weeks ago they changed the process to pay it, so that's probably why you haven't seen too much info on it. It's still new. smile.png  Please keep in mind that you can't pay this fee until after the visa is issued and in your hand, because you need some information that will only be found on the visa itself (like the alien registration number, for example). Here's the link where you'll be able to find the steps to take to pay for it, though.

The NVC fees, as well as the 165$ immigration fee, is paid online. The only thing that might be paid in cash is the fees for the medical, though that varies according to the country.
