IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresafter sending DS-3032 via email ?
Once your AOS bill $70 shows PAID, you can send in the I864 package with the rest of the documentation.

If your IV bill of $400 shows PAID as well, go ahead and send in your DS230 packet.

Remember to put the barcoded cover sheet right on TOP of everything else.

Read up the guides for detailed list on the packages.

Goodluck.

I think you can inform them at POE. Maybe they can update the system and make sure you receive your 10 year GC?

Just an idea.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresnvc help,, for a husband thats losing his mind
Is your AOS bill showing as paid? YES? Then print out the barcoded cover sheet and mail it out with the I864 and accompanying documents.

Have you emailed the DS3032 yet? NO? Do it now from the beneficiary's email. The format can be found in the VJ guides.

Once your DS3032 is accepted, in 1-3 days, your IV bill will become available to be paid. Pay it and wait for it to show as paid. Then mail out your DS230 packet with the barcoded cover sheet.

Then wait for 7-10 days for a case complete, barring any RFEs.

If you hurry, you might make a May interview. Good luck!

Do realize it'll take them a while to update the case and assign a new case number once they receive your request. Also add proof that you're currently residing in Paris.

Good luck.

Pay attention, non-EP NVC noobs. Here's Christeen's time tested formula to get you through NVC in one piece alive:
Petitioner: Get NVC # + give operator your email IDs + receive AOS fee bill + pay 70$ online + wait to show paid + print cover sheet + send I-864 AOS with all documents and case # written on each page.

Beneficiary: Get NVC# + receive DS3032 + send DS3032+ DS3032 accepted + IV fee bill available to be paid + pay & wait to show paid + print IV cover sheet + mail DS230 package with all original/certified documents

= wait for case complete + wait for interview to be scheduled.

The beneficiary will mail her choice of agent.

She/he has three options:

1) Send it in letter format as found on the VJ wiki via email.

2) Fill in the form, scan it and send it as PDF attachment.

3) Mail the hardcopy form.

Once this form is accepted, the IV bill will become available to be paid.

Good luck.

50/50 chance. No harm in applying for it. If it is denied it shouldn't have any impact on her case. She will need to demonstrate overwhelming ties to India which would compel her to return. Kind of hard with her USC husband in the U.S.

Suggestions:
1) Have the beneficiary mail SIGNED extra DS230s to you so that you have them handy in case something goes wrong. Or you get hit by a dreaded RFE.

2) If you just received your NOA2, THIS is the time to get your tax stuff and police certificates sorted out. Don't waste time on this.

3) Double check the PCC requirements in the regional forums as they are country specific.

Currently the # of business days NVC is taking:
3-4 days for NVC to receive your case and assign a case #.
3-4 days to receive emailed links after case # has been assigned and email addresses been given to NVC operator.
1-2 days for the AOS bill to show as PAID.
1-3 days for DS3032 to be accepted.
3-4 days for IV bill to be PAID.
8-11 days for case complete after all your documents have been sent in.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNVC has received my forms. Do i need to send copies to my spouse
Call on Monday and listen to the AVR to see if your packages have been inputted.

Then yes, wait another week (around the 30th) and call again to see if there are any updates.

Once you can no longer sign in to the NVC payment portal, you will know that your case is done processing.

You can confirm that you indeed have a case complete with an operator/check the AVR.

If you have a RFE, the AVR will update to say so and you will receive a checklist in your email detailing what it is that they need from you.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDid I do something WRONG? Help!
Well, I know the general attitude here on VJ is that the USC petitioner should do everything including the filling up the forms, paying the bills, organizing the information. Of course, it's a personal choice but it is also terribly patronising to beneficiaries like me who take an active interest in the entire visa process since it affects our lives too. We're not all completely incompetent, despite the general prevalent attitude. I am absolutely capable of reading the forms, interpreting and answering the questions correctly. I have no trouble with the English language and can comprehend the simple instructions written clearly on the form. When in need, I ask our dear VJ members for help. So far, I've pretty much done everything on my own, right from paying the AOS/IV bills to filling out the forms, making the cover letters, etc. -- both during the USCIS stage, and now through NVC. My husband does help, of course, but he prefers to leave the paperwork to me. I'm good with forms, completely obsessive and #######-retentive about paperwork. Besides, I have a lot more time on my hands that he does.

Our delay (due to a ridiculous AOS RFE) is actually because my husband overlooked what I marked out explicitly for him. I can understand if the beneficiary is extremely busy or his/her English is not strong enough, or doesn't have access to a computer/printed to have a little help but to insist that USC petitioners should do ALL of it is a little unfair and condescending. Sorry to vent and go off on a tangent--this just bugs me tremendously.

OP, in regard to your original question, I really don't think it is an issue at all. I wouldn't stress too much about it.

I don't think it matters honestly, never seen RFEs or questions related to that.

I put "Service/Education" as I might want to teach someday.

Honestly, not a big deal, I don't think so.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDid I do something WRONG? Help!
Ask him to fill in his own DS230. Put Service or something vague like that for that field. Ask him to sign it and send all his stuff to NVC directly.

Honestly, isn't mail expensive? What's the point you filling it up, sending it to him, him sending it back to you, you mailing it to NVC? Seems like a waste of money and extra days waiting in transit. I'm certain he is more than capable of filling up his own name, date of birth, address, residence history, employment history etc.
