National Visa Center (Dept of State)NOA2 Approved....Now What's Next
For K-1, you will need to talk to a HUMAN in order to get your case number. It is NOT inputted into the AVR as it's there only for a few days.

Call 603-334-0700. Follow the prompts. If your case has been assigned number, the AVR will read it out to you.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)From USCIS To NVC
K-1 cases are NEVER inputted into the AVR. You will have to speak to an operator to get the number.

For CR-1s, call the AVR and follow the prompts.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Contacting NVC
Your case will be forwarded to the Consulate only once your interview date has been set by NVC.

That will depend on your consulate/embassy's availability.

Your sign in should fail 8-11 business days once NVC has received all your packages in its mailroom, irrespective of what the AVR says. This is, of course, barring any RFEs.

May scheduling is over as of this last Friday. Next date will be scheduled for June.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)NVC'S MISTAKE ON PETITIONER'S NAME
Pay attention, non-EP NVC noobs. Here's Christeen's time tested formula to get you through NVC in one piece alive:
Petitioner: Get NVC # + give operator your email IDs + receive AOS fee bill + pay 70$ online + wait to show paid + print cover sheet + send I-864 AOS with all documents and case # written on each page.

Beneficiary: Get NVC# + receive DS3032 + send DS3032+ DS3032 accepted + IV fee bill available to be paid + pay & wait to show paid + print IV cover sheet + mail DS230 package with all original/certified documents

= wait for case complete + wait for interview to be scheduled.

Suggestions:
1) Have the beneficiary mail SIGNED extra DS230s to you so that you have them handy in case something goes wrong. Or you get hit by a dreaded RFE.

2) If you just received your NOA2, THIS is the time to get your tax stuff and police certificates sorted out. Don't waste time on this.

3) Double check the PCC requirements in the regional forums as they are country specific.

4) Check the pinned STUPID RFEs thread in IR-1/CR-1 forum before sending in your packages.

5) Mail your DS230 package to your USC spouse as soon as you get your NOA2. That way he/she can overnight it to NVC as soon as the IV bill clears.

6) Get your taxes, employment letter, paystubs, PCCs, civil documents etc. while you wait for the NOA2.

Currently the # of business days NVC is taking:

3-4 days for NVC to receive your case and assign a case #.
3-4 days to receive emailed links after case # has been assigned and email addresses been given to NVC operator.
1-2 days for the AOS bill to show as PAID.
1-3 days for DS3032 to be accepted.
1-2 days for IV bill to be PAID.
8-11 days for case complete after all your documents have been sent in.

Yes, you can reschedule the date.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Need help Preparing Documents Before NVC Processing??
After your I130 is approved, NVC will assign you a case number.

You will have to give your email address to an operator and you will receive the AOS/DS3032 in your inbox in about 3-4 days.

Pay the AOS bill and the beneficiary will email the DS3032. The VJ template is sufficient.

This should help you understand the NVC processing stage--

I had everything ready for the DS230 packet. The day our NOA2 came, I signed and dated the forms, put them in an envelope and sent it via TNT to my husband. He received them in 3 days. Which was more than enough time till the IV bill cleared.

A lot of people also sign it and send it over to the USC petitioner. The petitioner dates it and sends it out when the time comes.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)so confused with I864

If the petitioner was included as a dependent on the parents' most recent tax return then they must be included in the parents' household count (along with the intending immigrant).

In this circumstance the OP does an I-864 regardless of income. One parent does an I-864 as well. The other parent would complete an I-864A to combine the two incomes together.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresPlease help! F-1 engaged to USC.
Hi,

I'm an Indian citizen, currently on an F-1 visa, studying in NY. I will graduate in mid-May and my OPT will kick in from July for a year. I recently got engaged to my U.S. citizen boyfriend and we're trying to figure out the best way to proceed. I would like him to meet my parents in Calcutta first so I don't want to file for AoS right now. If there is no other option, then we will have to do that but I was wondering which is a better route, K1, K3 or Consular Processing in India? Anyone have any recent similar experiences? How long is the average waiting time? Can I file for a K3 if my F-1 is still valid till July 2010?

Thanks for your help in advance!

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDoes I-130 require beneficiary's birth certificate?
1. I sent a ceritified copy of my birth certificate in along with a copy of my passport biographic page

2. The send you a RFE -- request for more evidence -- and once you meet that request, the process continues.

3. I am guessing you could, but it'd be safer to have someone else do it, for obvious reasons.

Good luck!
