US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPlease Help! Confused Affidavit of Support I-184 and I-864a???
If your father-in-law currently resides in the same household as the petitioner (your husband), then he will fill in a I-864A.

If they live in separate households, then your FIL will fill an I-864.

Your husband, being the primary sponsor, will have to fill in the I-864, regardless.

Hope this helps.

Wait--why did you have wedding photos for a K-1 visa interview?

That's reason right there for a denial.

What was the formal reason stated for denial? It is important to know under what code it was denied so that appropriate information can be given.

Try and keep the case at the consulate. The USC should contact the embassy and DOS immediately.

Sounds like you're in AP/AR.

Did they request any additional documents?

What questions were asked at the interview, if you don't mind sharing?

Hang on in there. smile.gif

Yo, you've NOT been denied. You've been placed in AP/AR and once you give them what they are asking for, your visa will be issues.

You will need your police clearance from PI.
And your fiancee's tax returns.

Do it ASAP.

Good luck!

Interviews are unfortunately scheduled on the consulate's availability. Expediting may have helped you in bypassing NVC but if there no open CR-1 slots for February, then there's nothing they can do.

May I ask the reason for your expedite?

Have the USC call up DOS and enquire on the case status. My guess is that it's in AP.

I am glad you're keeping up the fight. Don't give up!

It might be helpful to go over ALL the questions asked -- I know they seemed to focus on the "How did your parents feel about you marrying an American divorcee with three kids?" -- but like Gary said, sometimes they use ONE question to berate/confuse the aplicant in the hope he slips up and answers something ELSE incorrectly/inconsistently.

The fact that he kept your passport is a good sign.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI-134 questions
Thanks, Anwesha. Praying for a RFE-free end!

Your husband's savings? He should show whatever he can, financially. I'm not sure how the I-134 is laid out but my guess is that it is similar to the I-864. If your joint sponsor can support you on his income alone that is fine. If his income falls short, then he can use assets. $3=$1. Otherwise, his savings doesn't matter. He can always add a bank statement if he so wishes. Good luck to you and John.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI-134 questions
Anwesha, I'd check with the consulate if they accept joint sponsor's for K-1s. A lot of consulates don't as the I-134 is not a legally binding document.

Wow--so they called up his parents. Man, I've not heard that before.

Hmm, someone will come along and offer more concrete advice regarding petitions sent back to USCIS.

Was it denied outright or were more documents requested? Were you present at the interview?

I'm sorry about your situations but Morocco is super hard.

You will need to find a close family memeber (parent, sibling) willing to be a joint sponsor.

Then provide that paperwork to the embassy.

Is the child your biological son/daughter? Then the child doesn't need a visa as he/she is a USC by virtue of parentage.

Wait--from what you're saying it doesn't sound like an outright denial.

Firstly, I'm sorry for your troubles. I hope they can be resolved soon.

What is PRECISELY stated on that 212g? They have to give you a reason for denying them visas.

What were the questions asked and the responses to those questions at the interview?

Was the USC petitioner present at the interview? Were you separately interviewed?

First thing, contact your Congressman/Senator.

Try and get the consulate to revalidate the visa.

If not, another K-1 is your only option.

Or you could get married and then file for a CR-1.

Sidenote to future K-1 entrees: Another relevant example as to why you should always get married ASAP and file for AOS upon your entry into the U.S. You can always request an emergency AP. You never know what can crop up.

So your spouse had a EWI?

From my understanding, those with EWIs are denied at the interview and then must submit a waiver.

Your waiver submitted in Delhi has been approved as well?

Then it should be a matter of time, I assume.

^ This. And to me, it seems like a red flag that her sister was able to secure a USC fiance and K-1 visa through the same website that your fiancee now conveniently found you through.

Not saying that that is the case, but you have to think like a CO.

What were the questions asked?
What were the answers given?
Are there any red flags in your case? Prior marriages, short online courtship? Large age difference?
Seems like something didn't add up with the documentation provided and the answers given.
What does the denial slip say?
How to proceed will depend on your service center.
