K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsTOUCHED !!!!!
You are all right, touches probably don't mean anything except getting your heart racing. The UCSIS states imfatically that they process cases in the order they are received. We all know this is a downright lie. I know personally of many cases submitted more than a month after mine that have already been approved through VSC. They can't all be special cases for expediting if so then they all know something we don't. Touches may or may not give hope or false hope depending on how you look at it. Waiting just bites no matter what. I hope and pray for all of you that your loved ones will be with you soon. smile.gif

I received an email update from USCIS that our K-1 petition has been approved. kicking.gif good.gif kicking.gif

This is the NOA2, right? Isn't that the longest step usually?

I sent in the petition to Vermont on Jan 12th. It was approved in 45 days.

I think it goes faster now, right?

Thanks.

Thats wonderful!! Congratulations!! smile.gif I hope and pray for the rest of us who do not seem to get the same response time. Hmmmmm in the order received, interesting how they state that!! Really though, I am very happy for you and no one deserves to wait more than a day without the one they love!! Truly congrats!! smile.gif

COngratulations star_smile.gif ....We are also November fillers, but until now we haven't receive our NOA2 yet..

GOD LUCK........ good.gif

Thank you so much! It will come shortly for you I know it!! Keep your chin up approvals are happening everyday for VSC filers. They are moving fast and you will get yours soon I know. yes.gif Please call them using TboneTX's guidelines for talking to them......I called 3 days in a row and got my approval 5 days later........Don't get mad or upset on the phone with them, just talk their language like it says. You will feel so good after doing it. Good luck and keep me posted on your progress!! smile.gif

How to use the TboneTX's?

Here is TboneTX's guidelines for calling the USCIS. Good luck. I hope it works for you too!! kicking.gif See below

These tips are not guaranteed for speeding receipt of your NOA2, but they worked for me after many weeks of banging my head against stone walls and unhelpful front-line call-screeners. They have also worked for other VJ members whose K-1 files had been sitting unapproved for some time. I recommend trying these tips if you're approaching or have exceeded the posted "we are processing applications received as of" date at the CSC.

These recommendations may (or may not) appear similar to what has been called the "RFE Trick." There is no "trick" involved here. Until now, I have posted these tips in individual response to plaintive cries for help. Without exception, others have stated that trying the recommendations proved effective and served to relieve their own personal stress. Perhaps the VJ moderators will consider pinning this thread so that all who are frustrated can have one place to look.

---
Here is what I did to shake things loose. The keys are to [1] reach a correct person, and [2] speak USCIS's language.

Call 800-375-5283 , then hit 1,2,2,4,2,1; enter your receipt number; hit 1,1. (There is no need to wait for all of the recorded options to be read before you hit these buttons.) The recording will almost certainly say that "additional evidence is required," but don't necessarily believe it.

When the phone rings, you should be speaking with an actual Immigration Officer (not a clueless front-line screener who can tell you only what you already know). If the recording said that "additional evidence is required," ask the ImmOff exactly this: "Why does the recording say that I have a Request For Evidence?" He/she will almost certainly tell you that there's no record of an RFE; thank him/her profusely.

Then (or first), ask exactly this: "Will you please tell me exactly where in the Division my file is?" He/she will tell you. Then say exactly this: "I'm aware that several files received after mine have already been approved, and the USCIS website clearly says 'we process applications in the order we receive them.' Will you please send an e-mail to the floor, and ask the person at the ____ station [whatever the ImmOff told you] to please hand-carry the file to the next station?"

The ImmOff will appreciate your "speaking the language," because it is so different from the usual plaintive "do something!" that they hear all day, every day. The e-mail should at least cause one of the processors on the floor to handle your file, and your record on the USCIS Case Status website may soon reflect a "touch."

The procedures that I have recommended are worth it, and you should feel better afterwards. Depending on how long ago you have submitted your application (the longer, the "better"), you can repeat this process every 10 to 14 days.

Do NOT mention that you are part of an on-line community; this is not necessary, and mentioning it could hinder your success. However, feel free to post your stories on VJ!

Thank you for th guidelines...We will try it soon and see if things will work out fine...

Your welcome!! It won't hurt to try it.......you got nothing to lose and only maybe some touches and hopefully an approval to gain!! Good luck and let me know how it goes........I will pray for you!! yes.gif

Thanks all!! Please call on your cases if you are over 3 months out!! I called 3 days in a row and used Mox's guidelines for talking to the people there at the USCIS. It really worked!! They approved my case exactly 5 days after my call to them complaining about them not processing cases in the order received!! Follow Mox's guidelines and talk their language. It might have been the key to shake things loose!! I appreciate all your sentiments and pray your journeys will be short to your loved ones!! smile.gif

Yes, '07, '08, '09.

Irrespective of whether your passport is expired or not, you're still a citizen of Pakistan. You need to mention it on the DS230. I understand your qualms about doing so, given that it's Pakistan, but you need to follow a policy of full disclosure when dealing with the DOS.

CanadaMarrying an American AND Starting Your Career in the USA
You would apply for a K-1 visa. Once approved at the interview, you will have to enter the U.S. and get married to your fiance in 90 days. Then you would apply for your AOS based off your marriage and once you get the EAD (employment authorization document) or Green Card (whichever you get first) you can start working.

You can also get married right and apply for a CR-1 which authorizes you to work immediately upon entry.

I'm not too sure about TN/H-1B visas but I'm sure someone else can clarify those questions for you.

Read the guides for more information on the K-1 and CR-1.
