Just wanted to share our fabulous news with everyone! We're approved! Opened my email this morning when I got to work and jumped out of my chair and into the air laughing.gif

I had tears of happiness in my eyes!

Looks like CSC is really getting their act together and pumping out approvals. I have a feeling all of the November files will be approved in the next couple of weeks.

Hooray! kicking.gif

WOW that is so wonderful......I am glad the CSC is finally moving!! Truly congratulations!! kicking.gif kicking.gif

Maire - Is the letter you get from NVC one you have to send to your SO for the interview?

I'm trying to gather the last of the documents for the I-134 and our evidence......I sure wish they had a step by step checklist on here..hehe! I'm worried I'll forget something!

Hi Liz, I was not certain if you were serious about this or not but here is a link to a pdf checklist for China. I would think yours would be similar.

[url="http://guangzhou.use..._169-May.09.pdf they call this a 169 but if you wish to try a search I also think it is referred to as an IV-15...good luck.

I've been looking into flights as I am expecting to receive my approval any day now, Maire and I have the same dates so hopefully mine is right behind hers, (by-the-way Maire YOU WIN!). I am trying to figure out how to fly to prague stay in a hotel for a week or 2 and fly back with my BH for the best cost. All the cheap ticket sites don't offer one way tickets departing from another country. When I did an international search for the one way ticket it was about half of the round trip price, in euros. But the website was in german and I could ready anything other than that.

Any ideas as to how I can fly to her for the interview then fly back with her?

I was actually going to order a RT ticket, even though I knew I was not going to make the return date. For me RT plus the fees to change the dates was so much cheaper than a one way ticket. I have found the one ways to China are 85% of a RT. So even after the fees I am still ahead. Then use the extra fees and book a return for me and one way for my honey. However YMMV.

Roman + Vespa, I haven't called the VSC but I will very soon.

Roman, I can't believe it's already sent to the foreign consulate! Good news! That's a bit scary for me though, as we are trying to delay these processes a bit till he is definitely able to come in 6 months for entry.

Richard- I can't believe that poor 11 girl will be deported, it's tragic!

Hi everyone else!!

Actually just called NVC, it was sent yesterday! But, to call Naples to check it's $15 per call from outside the US, and 1.50 Euro/minute for inside! CRAZY!

Vespa, I just did a quick search. There are Voip's that charge .03 per minute to Italy. Also with Voip you can obtain a local number in Italy. So if you need to call again you might want to consider something like that. FWIW.

Igor #160 on May 16, 2009.

And one less unapproved petition for Jan. Yayyyyyyyy

On May 11th, I called CIS. Managed to get a person at the call center to re-affirm my online status as pending and under review with no updates.

Came home today to find an envelope dated 5-13-09. I almost stopped breathing.....NOA2 issued May 8th. 107 days.

Keep the faith. And believe in the Postal system to bring you the good news.

Good luck to everyone going through this process.

Congrats and best wishes. You can start breathing again while the rest of us still hold our breath!!!

After the last few weeks of nothing happening we were getting pretty frustrated so this is such a blessing. We got our NOA 1 on the 2nd of Feb so 3 and a half months is amazing. I wish all the other Feb VSC filers the best of luck. Cheers, Chris x x

i just read the HB-1 season update. There are about 45000 applications that came in for the 2010 season. The cap is 65000. I would assume that there are reps that take care of certain types of visas. Otherwise I think all the other types will have a lag in processing. Only time will tell, and right now time is the enemy!

I do not disagree with anything you, or Dave and Jenny or D n M has said. I know I will get flamed for this, and do not misunderstand I am as anxious as anyone else here to have the incredibly slow process move forward. I just think we have put too much faith into Igor’s list, which is only an estimate, and because of the fluctuations, such as the HB-1, constantly changes. I do not even look at it any longer. I am not sticking up for the sluggish work at the VSC, I think it is pathetic, but their date for our process is 6 months, which sadly at this time almost seems more accurate than Igor’s list….please I want to be proven wrong so much, I want Igor’s list to be the more accurate of the two. Sadly I do not think that is the case.

crying.gif Hello everyone!!
We received p.#3 and really stuck with some requirements.
1. The letter from consulate said we have to have police report from any country were you had to live more than 6 month.
2. Military record needs to be attached. 3. Form I-864 supposed to be sent and notarized.
We have problem in time frame to get police report 1-2 month, military record not on a list for request from Uzbekistan Consulate in Israel.
3. Why did they request I-864 instead I-134?
On a letter also note: Police certificates from certain countries are considered unobtainable. The consular office will advise you about any particular country.
If anyone can help to know about this list of countries (by phone we tried-answering system works, no one replied)
How do we have to respond with military record, and if we have to fill out form I-864 or I-134?
Help please!!!!! helpsmilie.gif

Hi Natzhea, it is funny you mention the I-864 today. I was just reading about this today and I am as confused as you are. I was under the impression that the I-864 was used by a sponsor (not the petitioner) to demonstrate evidence of support. Then I looked here: http://guangzhou.use...2._OF-169.pdf... this is the Embassy I am going to deal with. On page 2 the “evidence of support” I was confused by the wording. So I was planning on taking the easy way out and filling out both forms, taking them both to one of the citizens meetings at the embassy and asking which I actually need. I look at it this way, it is only one more form to fill out, and basically requires the same information. Except I do not know which box is the correct box to check in section 1, such a great way to begin. Perhaps they save this until you file for AOS, who knows. You know if you do not give them what they ask for they will bounce you.

Sorry I know I did not help you, I am kind of venting confusion here. Anyone want to help here?

Well, barring some people updating their timelines and adding NOA2's for the past week, I can tell you from walking back over the past year that NO time during the past *year* has there been so many days without a NOA2. Not Christmas week, July 4, memorial day, labor day, new years. The longest I saw (I looked) was i think 4 days without. This is driving me absolutely nuts!

Welcome to H-1B season, where becoming a non-immigrant worker only takes 2 months. smile.gif http://www.uscis.gov...0004718190aRCRD

I see a person here and there getting NOA2, though.

Hang in there... smile.gif

So it seems like they keep accepting H-1B apps. until they reach a cap, but I wonder how long that is and when "H-1B season" ends....

I wonder what the market is like for those applicants nowadays?

Hi all,

Maire: I'm sorry you're having such a difficult time today. Are there other reasons you feel suspicious or is this one of the only incidents? How long have y'all known each other? Do you doubt that he genuinely loves you? On the mom convo piece: I guess you can't really hold him to blame for a lie his mother told. He may have asked her to or she could be completely doing this of her own accord. I hope he's honest when you talk to him.

I guess this is a broader question for everyone. Did you guys have any serious discussions of living in the other country instead? Just curious. It took us a while for us to get on the same page (we've had differing conceptions about where we could have a better life)...but once we did make this decision, I haven't second guessed it.

I think he and I are both trying to put things in perspective that when we're together, it's not like our lives will be instantly perfect. I'm sure we're going to have adjustment issues and other challenges. Maybe that sounds unromantic, but I just want to be realistic so that we're not setting ourselves up for failure. First marriage for both of us, so I guess we'll learn as we go. smile.gif

Cherlartie, we are going to split our time between the two. This will be nice after being stuck here for a year waiting for the AOS.

Marie, have you shopped around online for a better deal than 1.90/minute? I looked at one of the providers I used and they have Cuba for .95/minute. You could talk twice as long for the same price. Also you have the VOIP’s, Vonage, Skype etc. You can easily beat the 1.90 rate.

And I am not a paid spokesman, but I did sleep in a Holiday Inn last night!

I do not know if I am allowed to put a web site here for you to look at, so if an admin says it is not cool they will delete it, and I understand. Here is one that I have used: onesuite.com. No computer needed on this one, you dial either a local access or 1-800 number, enter your SO's number and chat away. Minutes are pre-purchased. It is just a suggestion.

Hi Liz, this is just a suggestion about your tickets. You might be able to pull your flight itineraries and related credit card receipts. I was missing one of my boarding passes for one leg of my trip, so I sent those two items in with my initial package. IMHO I would rather have extra proof and not need it then to be asked for something and not have it, just trying to cover all my bases.

Funny! Anyway yes I plan to make the interview, I'm hoping for late May, early June, because I redeploy mid-month May, and then I get my 30 days PCS leave so that would be perfect.

It is funny she did not know what you were talking about. At this point it is almost like you need to be careful what you say. All you need for them to do is correct an address at this stage, who knows where it will end up. Stupid question though, if they cannot mail anything outside of the US, how does our stuff arrive at the Consulate?

It sounds like this might fit in perfectly with your leave time, that would be sweet. Do you know where your next post is yet, and will the information they send be able to reach you? Or at this stage it just goes to your SO anyhow.

I also feel like CSC stopped cranking them out like they did in March. I don't know--the way I see it, there is little consistency in the general processing times of the centers. Just b/c they are now processing applications that were sent a month and a half before our submissions (in my case at least. I figure they are processing late-Dec and I filed mid-Feb) doesn't mean that my case will be approved in a month and half. Could be. But if they speed up, it could be sooner. If they slow down, it could be later (which I do admit, would suck). In any case, at least it's in the works and I'm getting closer to a window within which it could reasonably be approved. Does any of this make sense? wacko.gif

I think it all makes sense Chelartie (sadly). There is no rhyme or reason to the way business is done. I think the only thing that is proven here is that they are all hourly workers, there are no bonuses or perks for pushing papers.

I think the wacko icon you chose is perfect, trying to figure this out or trying to understand the process will make your eyes spin!

OK, finally left NVC, forwarded to USEM on the 14th, so I hope to be getting things scheduled soon, to all of you who are still waiting i pray for you all and good luck.

Mford you know we are pulling for you!

It amazes me, your case is an expedite, and granted you did lose some time with the RFE, but it has been 2 months to arrive at this point, . That does not bode well for us common folk.

Are you going to make it to the interview?

Greg

I think I have to request expedite again for the interview, I will wait to see what the date is they give us first.

Best of luck to you!!! Hopefully your embassy interview will be given on a timely basis so you don't have to bother with the expedite process all over again for them. Keep us udated on your progress!

That was a quick turn around after the RFE. I am glad for you Mford. Nice to see the system works....sometimes!

Will you be able to make the interview?

Damn, I got so excited when I saw an email today from USCIS, until I realized it was just a message about an updated form. RATS!

ok i filed online, is the 1040 that was printed out from hr block good, or do i need something else"?

That's what I plan on using, along with my w-2. From what I understand, you only need the tax transcript if you don't have the other. But please let me know if you find out something different!

The basic difference between the two is the transcript is the completed copy of everything you provided to the IRS, all combined. The tax return is all of the paperwork you will submit to the IRS.

Now after does my reading on CFL site I came across this. I thought it was cute, and possibly quite true. I wanted to share.

My friend has lovely Israeli Fiancé/Bride.
So they are in the Tampa office to get the Green Card interview.
In the waiting room the lady was yelling at her husband and blaming him for forgetting to bring some document.
The visa officer walked over and handed them the card, no interview and said "I can see you two are really married. Have a nice day."

Hi everyone.......Our journey has been very long and difficult....we finally have gotten to the embassy stage......but the issue is that the mail in Peru sucks.......The embassy mailed his instruction letter over 2 weeks ago and he still has not recieved it....I have all of our forms completed...all of our evidence together....the state department told me the interview date as April 1....but we need the info for the medical which is 3 doctor's in Lima and the police certificates.....which is also in Lima....this is what I do not understand....why are we getting police, judical certificates from Lima when he has never lived there....since 2000 he has lived in Arequipa and from 1994 to 2000 in Cusco......We have the embassy keep telling us we need to wait for the letter.......but it has never come....help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh I just re-read your post. The certificates are not actually covering Lima. They are the national level, covering the entire country. The offices are just located in Lima. sad.gif Unfortunatly.
