I just hope everything goes smoothly so we can get our interview scheduled quickly. They've had his Packet 3 for over a week now since we had to delay the medical, so this should be the last thing they need. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	January I-129F filers	I was a victim of identity theft and it can be a nightmare that never ends. I'll tell you what I did and I would suggest the same. I got LifeLock, I pay 10 bucks a month for my credit to be monitored and to be notified of any changes. Notify credit bureaus of ID theft and get a freeze so no transactions can be processed without your permission. Also, please make a police report. I had my wallet stolen and I just returned from overseas so I had my passport and SS card on me after running important errands so I called the police to report it stolen. The bank took care of the extra charges and changed all my info. However, a year later, when I was trying to get financing for my laptop, I couldn't get it and I checked my credit score. It was so low because of delinquent accounts for unpaid utility services for phone, electricity, etc. I then made a second police report for ID theft (therefore, I have 2 police reports, 1 for stolen property, 1 for ID theft). I called the companies that had outstanding accounts, spoke to their fraud or legal dept and told them what happened and the one thing they always wanted from me was a police report. It took time, but it was not difficult and my credit was restored (until another delinquent account would hit). It would be best on the police report to put the the numbers like SSN so it will show it stolen. Lifelock and credit freezes should stop future activity, but not everything so if something happens, it is up to you to correct the problem. I would make a call or two, fax the police report to the companies and from a day to a month later, things would be corrected. I was extremely lucky to correct everything. Also, some companies wanted me to send them proof that where the electricity was started really wasn't my address so I had to send them my own utility bill for that time period proving I lived somewhere else. Please act quickly and make a police report as detailed as possible just in case. Also, I sent something via USPS overseas and from what I remember they cannot track it once it leaves the US. I thought I lost a package because it took a month to deliver and all they could do for me was make an inquiry to the foreign postal service and would notify me by mail, etc. It was silly. Despite the cost, send it another way. PM me if there is anything else I can help with or to clarify what I wrote. Sorry for what happened to you. I hate to see these things happen. SInce we ended up getting a RFE I definitely have read the notice over a hundred times and noticed in the instructions that it was mentioned to place the original blue notice on top of what is sent in. I have been working on this information all day by combining information I already sent over to them with additional information. I decided to get affidavits from my mom and sister just to make sure I had an item from each request option they provided. Now I will be overnighting it to them tomorrow so they can get it by Tuesday. Senator office has been tracking my file and they asked me to notify them when I send the response back so that they can contact USCIS and make sure it is processed. Not sure how much that will help. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Any February 2012 filers?	I just received my RFE notice yesterday. They are requesting additional information that we met in the last 2 years prior to them receiving our application. I am pretty sure I sent this with itineraries, boarding passes, passport stamps and photos, but apparently it was not enough. I admit the photos did not have date and place handwritten on the back of each photo. I do have a question for everyone so I can make sure I do this right. THe notice states I need to send evidence of us meeting and that is should include, but not limited to: -Own statement which include the date, place, and circumstances of our meeting supported by additional evidence -Copies of travel documents (itineraries, tickets, etc) -Photos with date and place handwritten on back -Letters written to each other after each of our meetings with each other referencing the specific data and place -Photocopies of our passport showing we were in the same location at the same time -Affidavits from friends, neighbors, or other knowledgable associates that can swear to us meeting each other at a specific date and place. Do we need all of the above, or just as much of the evidence that meet the above criteria? For instance, If I can corroborate us meeting using my statement, photos, passport, photos with date and place written on them, text messages, emails, tickets from attractions we visited in her city and mine, itineraries, and boarding passes. Do we still need the affidavits from other sources? The include but not limited to part is not clear on whether we need all of those items bulleted, or if we just need items that fit the criteria but could provide additional evidence that falls outside of those categories. Thanks for everyone's help and responses in advance. REMEMBER: When responding to a Request for Evidence it is extremely important that you place the blue coversheet on the top of the response you send to them. The VSC receives thousands of pieces of correspondence each day, if the blue coversheet is not on the top of the response it will be placed in “general” correspondence and NOT sorted as a priority, which may delay your case. Just rec'd an email: Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) Your Case Status: Request for Evidence Will wait & see what they need. I'm going to change the timeline now. And glance at the RFE thread. I'm very happy that our application was looked at finally. We rec'd the NOA 1 on 2/14/12. And if your RFE is simple you will be approved in about 2 weeks from the time you see the RFE on the USCIS website. I got a notification on July 30 on the website and replied to the RFE that arrived in the mail the next day. Since my RFE was very simple I got my NOA2 on August 16. Although I found out about this site well after I submitted my K-1 paperwork, it has been helpful to read the experiences of others on the same journey. I honestly felt like I was more prepared for anything that could happen after reading this site, although thankfully it has not been needed so far. On 8/21 (exactly 6 months and 1 week to the day of receipt), I received the NOA2. Finally! I know there is still more to go on this journey but to have that piece finally complete and moving on is nice. Good luck to all still waiting and know that it is coming soon......
