Go to a tax professional company such as H & R block and they will assist you. Since this is the peak time for taxes mailing the return to the IRS will take several weeks. So get your documents and get them done ASAP. Your current year tax return can be filed electronically and you can get a copy of the return when you filed it usually the same day. My fiance told me that she heard of someone getting their k-1 visa in about 2 months (and the person wasn't in the military or it wasn't a special case). I asked her get the details from the person who told her so. To make a long story short, she couldn't verify the story. So don't disagree with your wife. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	AOS and IV BILL!!!!	Once a NVC case number is assigned the AOS fee is generated right away. However, before the IV fee is generated you do need to send the DS 3032 choice of agent form. You will need the NVC Case number and Invoice number to log in and pay. Once you pay it takes 1-2 days for it to show as PAID. MAke sure and print both AOS and IV bar coded cover sheets. GOOD LUCK!!! IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Need Help..Approval Time For Case	Depends on the visa type but we got out our NOA2 on May 30 and would have been completed at NVC July 25th had we not run into a glitch. So, witheverything working like clock work it was almosttwo months. It took almost a full month to even ge t from USCIS to the NVC and get a new case number. However, it's hard to predict being that differenttimesof year and different cases affect the length. Keep your patience is all I can advise!
