K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Trip while waiting for NOA2	I was just talking to my boss and it looks like he is going to let me go visit my fiance in October for two weeks. I would be traveling for his birthday (I will arrive the day after his bday its 1/2 the price). Our NOA2 is at Vermont and not scheduled to arrive until December 25th. I was just wondering if there is anything we can do while together that would be productive for the interview stage? I am going to keep my itinerary, receipt of purchase, my boarding passes and copies of my passport stamps. We will go together to get his birth certificate and divorce certificate. I spoke to the US embassy in Chile and his police certificates have a validity of 2 months so we will have to wait until we know the interview date for that. But any ideas you guys have on what we can do together for the interview would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Sent 1-129f package today!	Well I received my NOA1 (a notice stating they received my package) email 6 days after I sent my package. After that your package is sent to either California or Vermont. Right now Vermont is backed up and approving in about 6 - 7 months while California is approving in generally 3 - 4 months. USICS states that the average wait time is 5 months but after you receive your NOA1 you should fill out your timeline and it will give you an estimated approval date which is pretty accurate. You will need to get an ITIN number since he doesn't have a social security number. Married filing jointly is beneficial because you will get an additional exemption filing for your husband. The VSC receives thousands of pieces of correspondence each day, if the blue coversheet is not on the top of the response it will be placed in “general” correspondence and NOT sorted as a priority, which may delay your case. On our timeline it estimated a NOA2 by October 15, however I logged in today to check the forums and also checked our timeline out of curiosity and now it says November 25-30. What does it base this off and why is it estimating it to take over a month longer than it originally did? It was actually quite sad to read, I pray it doesn't take that long, we're finding life really hard at the moment, just so desperate to be together. Having the boarding passes is usually seen as fantastic evidence because they are one of a kind and printed at the airports themselves. However, if you do not have them, then there are otherway to prove that you visted her country: Did you purchase anything on your credit card whilst in her country? If so get copies of the statements of the duration you were there and highlight the relevant transactions Make copies of your passport, especially the part where they stamp it. This is seen as evidence that you were approved of entering her country at the POE. This is almost as invaluable as the boarding tickets themselves. Make sure you copy the reciept of your prrof of purcahse of the airline ticket. Although this only proves that you bought the ticket and not use it, the points above will prove otherwise. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Not the end of the world	UPDATE The Argentine embassy in Kiev provided my fiancee with the name of a law firm in Argentina that they have worked with in the past. I sent them an email and received a message back that this can be handled within a few weeks. Hopefully. Just so everyone has this info, here's the scoop: Fiancee goes to embassy, signs a proxy that is countersigned by a consular officer authorizing the attorney to act on her behalf; then gets fingerprinted and signs the fingerprint card; then makes copies of the info pages from her passport and the embassy certifies the copies. These items are then transmitted to the attorney, either electronically if the embassy has the ability, or by courier. The attorney then goes to the ministry of justice and obtains the police certificate; my understanding is that it is provided online. The materials are returned to my fiancee via FedEx or DHL. But it seems that some are being rewarded for doing things illegal. Maybe she can call again and try a different person - she might get a different person. Also you could inquire if going there in person could speed up the process. One of my family members had to go get her police clearance in another country and went in person, paid a few extra dollars and got her clearance in a few days.
