You're wasting time. Instead, you should pay the visa fee and schedule an interview right away. Don't worry, the Embassy will receive your case by the time interview day rolls around. Exaclty. When I got my MN# in August there was no appointments available on the embassy website. All was booked to the end of October. I kept checking every hour and one opened up on September 7.
