My service request just finished the thirty days and it came back with backgrounds pending and as far as the congressional inquiry I was told to wait 45 business days for a response. I got lucky with a teir 2 rep yesterday that told me i was mistakenly on a administrative hold and put a request that is higher than a service request to get my NOA2 in five days. good luck you have been waiting longer than me i hope the best for you that something comes quickly. Just called the DOS number and we have an interview date!!!!! Almost don't want to believe it until I call the embassy and hear it from them but I think it just might be true!!!!! We had been praying for an interview by November 1st at the latest to leave a week for my passport to arrive and to fly over on the 9th and Jason take the following 2 weeks off for our wedding/honeymoon which includes 2 federal holidays so only 8 days leave!!! Yesterday we had our Jack and Jill shower and it was SO amazing!! Everyone had such a great time! Also, yesterday, while I was getting my hair done for the party, I also received Packet 4 in an email!! WOOHOO! Quicker than I was expecting! Unfortunately, my photos were not acceptable, because of the dark colour of the background, so I'm going to take some new ones today and hopefully send them off today as well. Expecting packet 3 this week, this post NOA2 stuff is great! everything works in blocks of a days and weeks instead of blocks of 6.5 MONTHS! For all those still waiting, hang on in there! It gets so much better after the NOA2! I can speak from experience. After NOA2 my fiance got her visa approval about 3 weeks later. Make sure you know and are familiar with what the next steps are as soon as you get your NOA2 approval. Start working on those I-134's. It will be hectic and exciting at this stage. The thing is... it's just taking so damn long. I saw you got an RFE too. Was yours complicated? Don't forget. When responding to a Request for Evidence it is extremely important that you place the blue coversheet on the top of the response you send to them. The VSC receives thousands of pieces of correspondence each day, if the blue coversheet is not on the top of the response it will be placed in “general” correspondence and NOT sorted as a priority, which may delay your case. Someone just posted in the Canada forum that they're now booking at 74 days out!! By the time I get packet 4, I think I'll be lucky if I get a December interview date. I was hoping our legal wedding would be 12/12/12 (we got engaged on 11/11/11 - our big family/friends wedding is planned for May 18, but I thought it might be nice to have something cute to remember the legal day by!). I ordered my police clearance today... Guess there's nothing I can do but roll with the punches and be as prepared as possible. Nothing about this process has been easy or quick in any way. Wanted to share with everything that you really should be calling NCSC and insisting on speaking with an Immigration Officer. I made my weekly call today and learned that our case was actually approved almost 2 weeks ago, despite the USCIS website and tier 1 saying it was still pending, and no NOA 2 received yet. For added confirmation, I followed that call with a call to NVC and learned that our case had arrived there on Monday, but has not been entered into their system for processing yet.
