Hi all new [old hehehe] July filers! Posted Image
Just a quick questions: We are all waiting for our NOA2, and I know it is gonna take a while, I read they going to run a background check, so I just wonder if they run background check for a US citizen only or both?

Both.

Skynaut and Mrs.T and all others,

I have requested to the moderators to merge this thread and the other old thread since both represent the same July 2010 IR1/CR1 filers' forum.

We all are in the same boat and have to wait long for approval, NVC, Interview etc. And we need to share all valuable information each other. So, I thought it would be a good idea to have a common place for all these July filers together.

I will compile a Word doc on Monday for all July filers and post here, so that each will have an idea where the other stands in this process.

Good luck and God bless all!

Since you have the NOA1 please let me now if you can see your care on the USCIS website. We have been able to see our case only from yesterday for I 130 form, and our NOA1 was from 19.07.For the I 129F form we have seen the case status in the same day on USCIS. Is strange , this is my opinion. Unfortunately we can't find out when is possible to have our NOA2 for I 129F because of the low rate of filling this form and because of the updates from the VSJ users. We just wait to have our NOA2 asap to be together like a normal family :). Hope that latest January the process will be done.

Cip

Yes, I can see it in the USCIS site as "Initial Review". We should be patient since this process can take anywhere between 4 to 6 months unless there is adverse information in our file.

Since i have not got any paper from USCIS , its hard me for tell which service center i belong to as i am not sure which service center processing I-130 now a days. I am from FLORIDA so technically i should belong to Texas service center.. I have send my application to Chicago lock box as per I-130 instructions. The address i used was postbox 804616. When i checked with my bank my money order was cashed on 08/11/2010 by J.P.Morgan chase bank,Chicago. so i am wondering what should i do now? should i wait for one more week? if, i have to call USCIS, what number should i call and what options should i press when they will ask me to choose my option. Seniors and Friends please advice...

Sandipdesai,

If your MO is cashed on 8/11, you will get a physical copy of NOA1 by next week. First 3 letters of receipt# are - (EAC for Vermont, WAC for California, SRC for Texas and LIN for Nebraska). Call NCSC at (800) 375-5283 between 8AM and 8PM Mon-Fri, and listen to the AVR to choose "Lost Receipt#" option to talk to a live person to get your Receipt# by providing your other details. Then let's know which SC are you.

Did I tell you that not to worry about PO Box issue when you had concern about it?

Hey Lotofpatience,

Great to see that you received your NOA1!! quick question, what proof do you have about CSC being clogged u? also, do you have another application at the VSC? just wondering why and what's for?
Thanks

skynaut,

I felt CSC clogging based on March filers' thread here in VJ, more applications receipt in CSC compared to VSC (http://dashboard.uscis.gov/) etc.

Yup, I had an old I-130 file in VSC for the same beneficiary (my wife). She had a green card (CR1) that was filed based on I-130 petition in Dec 2007. She was here in the U.S for over a year in this CR1. Then went back to India and she surrendered it in the consulate in India since it was going to expire (Conditional GC will expire in 2 years and you need to renew it for another 10 years). Now she wants to come back to the U.S, but there is no visa. So, we started this I-130 process again. This time it is IR1 (10 year GC) since marriage is more than 2 years now.

Greetings July filers! I kept checking for a July thread and here it is.

I think/know I will be on here a lot in the future. This whole process scares me, especially reading some of the horror stories of people waiting years for their petitions to be approved.

I sent my CR1 on 7/7 and received my NOA1 via email on 7/19. I think that's pretty good...but my petition also went to CSC, so maybe that's not so good.

Anyhow good luck everyone, I'm sure we'll all get to know each other very well over the next 7 months.. :D

Welcome jmks! July applicants list is growing :-)

This is really frustrating. I am starting to worry again since mine went to CSC. Anyway, I need some advice regarding my passport which is under my Maiden name while my I-130 and other forms, I used my married name. Do you think this would complicate things later on? I renewed my passport a month before we got married which was April 2010. I seems like paranoid after the rejection. I have fears that there would be another problem in our NOA2. Yeah, they sent hubby an e-mail apologizing about the rejection since they were having problems with their system. Sucks huh? Their mistakes in exchanged of a 1 month delay.

"There is no oil without squeezing the olives, no wine without pressing grapes, no fragrance without crushing the flowers, and no real joy without sorrow"

I liked your last quote, good one :-)

Transferring CSC is ok. Now it may be clogged, but it can speed up too in the future.

Did you specify your maiden name in the passport under "Other names used" on I-130. If yes, there is no issue. Otherwise, it might create an issue.

Some other people (RumbaBumba) also experienced the mistake from USCIS, it sucks! As soon as you get the receipt notice, call National Service# on the notice to make sure you have not lost your Priority Date which is USCIS received date of your initial application. The ground here is "USCIS Error".

Please post your timeline in VJ.

Wow, thanks a lot Anthony for this detailed information!

It would surely help to those who are in CSC. I also felt little clog in CSC recently with overwhelming applications received compared to VSC. Some folks' applications whose jurisdiction is under VSC also transferred to CSC. I don't know why. Luckily (may be unluckily also), mine went to VSC since our old I-130 file sits there.

Hope you will have some more updates after your Monday's visit to the local office, though they basically do not handle I-130 cases.

Good luck and hope speedy approval for you!

July filer here. Finally got our NOA1 after being rejected twice because of PART C , INCOMPLETE ADDRESS though we had filled it completely. Sent the 3rd NOA1 packet July 27. Cashed the check on the 6th of August, and hubby finally received hard copy of NOA1 yesterday. Checked my status online, 4 steps ( acceptance, initial review, decision, post decision ) and my case is on the initial review. It's such an agonizing journey, no choice. It really require so much patience. Let's hope and pray for more good news to come. God Bless Us All..

I was just reading the March Filers Topic and it looks like the USCIS is up to the begining of April. So if they keep the pace up looks like we have about 90 days or so.

That's correct TheSahlis! Other thing, it depends on the SC also. Currently CSC is bit clogged, and VSC does not have much data for projection.

You got it :-)

Normally, SC assignment is based on your jurisdiction. Nevertheless, there are many exceptions. So, you will come to know it when the lockbox accepts the petition and routes.

Sent mine back overnight yesterday and it has just arrived. I hope that it will forwarded on to a SC ASAP, it was already neatly organized in 3 separate portions when they sent it back to me. My thinking is they just needed her address in Thai before approving it.

Good Luck all...............

Now you are all set. Wait for 1 to 2 weeks to get email/SMS text (if you have filed G-1145), check clearing and hard copy of NOA1.

Good luck this time,

Good thekfc!

Initially, there were many steps there such as:
Acceptance
Initial Review
RFE
RFE Response Review
Testing and Interview
Decision
Post Decision Activity
Oath Ceremony
Card/Document Production

I think this is very generalized steps across all the applications including Naturalization etc.

Now the below are the only steps:
Acceptance
Initial Review <--- We are here and need 4 to 6 months patient wait :-)
Decision
Post Decision Activity

You confirmed it, TheSahlis!

Thanks TheSahlis! I was little worried about the delay (almost 3 weeks) of NOA1. Normally everybody gets it in 2 weeks timeframe. Now my problem is solved :-)

Now we all have to wait patiently for another 4 to 6 months time, if it is not expedite and not DCF filing.

Just a quick question: do you think it is worth applying for K3 visa while waiting for CR1? Is it faster or not really?

Glad to know that my previous post helped 2 of you here.

You may not have to file I-129F for K3 visa since I-130 and IR1/CR1 also takes similar timeline.

However, it is up to you. There is no additional fee for this. You have to submit I-129F with I-130 Receipt notice and all other required documents. I file I-129F 2 years back and didn't make any difference and I am NOT planning to file it this time.

Welcome to all in this July filers group!

I didn't have NOA1 so far.

Called the USCIS today to check the delay of NOA1. After first level representative collected the basic information, the call was escalated to the second level. They asked my last name and zip code and advised that their mail room is full with 1000s of applications and to wait until the check is cashed, after routing to the appropriate service center. I asked them how many more weeks (mine is going to be 3 weeks on this Wed) to wait. Then I was told another 2 more weeks! Also, I was told that there will be a receipt# at the back of the cleared check. Good thing they told was I won't lose the priority date of I-130 which is July 21, even if there is a delay in entering the application into their system or not.

Hope this helps to others who are also stuck like me not having NOA1 for more than 10 days after the submission!

Thanks Loto...I am debating now to try to expidite my case but I don't know if it will qualify...To make a long story short the 2nd week in April we found out my mom has cancer and at that time they gave her 10 months to live...She has been through 3 very tough chemo sessions and things are looking better but the cancer is still there...I just want my mom to be here to meet my husband...But the questio I keep asking my self do I want the added stress of gathering info from the Dr and what not LOL...Right now I have to keep a very positive attitude and think God does not give me more than I can handle...But anyways What do you think should I try?
And Loto get on the phone and call them it is too long for you not to even get someting from USCIS...

Thnaks and good luck

The below are the expedite criteria.

I am not sure if they expedite your case. But you have nothing to lose to try based on "Humanitarian situation". You need to provide all the proof to the USCIS regarding her health matters.

Thank you! I don't know what is happening, I am going to call USCIS after a looooong time as the first thing on Monday morning :-)

Our case may be little complicated due to the first GC surrender by my wife. I have filled her abandoned A# in G-325A, which may or may not be an issue and probably they might ask for any other evidences. Keeping my fingers crossed :-)
