Call the NVC number. As soon as you hear the busy signal, end the call using end call button. Then hit redial right away. Do this until you get connected. I always get connected with 10 tries. Usually, it's more like 2 or 3 tries. This working during morning, night, evening, noon, etc. Maximum holding time I had to endure is 26 minutes. On average, expect to hold for 'bout 25 minutes. As I told you, after case completion, it may take 2 weeks for case forwarding and interview date details. Listen to NVC's AVR message, it will clearly say “Your case is completed and forwarded to the embassy or consulate in XXX on MM/DD/YYYY…” Once you hear this message, immediately go to DHL Tracking by Reference and track your shipment. For example, if NVC's AVR says your shipment date is 06/05/2008, NVC actually called DHL one day before this date to pick up the shipment. So your reference date is 06/04/2008. Then enter EXP 04 JUN 2008A as your reference in the above DHL website. Then scroll down to your consulate link. I should have received an "USCIS Acceptance Confirmation" at that time, but didn't. You don't have to be panic now. The check clearance is the indication that your petition is accepted. I have seen that if the petition is not accepted in the "initial stage", they will return the entire package with the check back to the petitioner. Now, about email notification - their system is not completely reliable. Don't worry on this! Now about NOA1 - If you live in an apartment with no name on the mailbox, chances are there the mail man to deliver it or not. Some will deliver, but I have experienced in the past that my NOA1 went back (in 2008) and I requested again to the USCIS. You can also do it. Talk to them (possibly to Tier2) and request for a copy for your records and tell them that you have never received it. Also, don't worry about the receipt# on the backside of the cleared check. Got USPS mail return receipt showing it had been signed for on September 26. I included the form for email/text messsage notification, and I have heard zero from them. No mail NOA, nothing. What should I do? Mine had taken 21 days and I was in panic too. Since yours is 4 weeks now, you can follow the below: 1) Send an email to Lockboxsupport@dhs.gov with all the details such as name of both petitioner and beneficiary with DOB, address, delivered date etc. 2) If your payment is by personal check, go to your bank and see if it is cleared out 3) If check is cleared, some people have said they could see the Receipt# on the back side of it. 4) Also check your spam folder for any mails from Chicago Lockbox If all fails, contact USCIS. You can buy some peel-able stickers. Then put the case number on the sticker and then apply the stickers on your originals. That's exactly what I have done. I bought a packet of those mailing label. Instead of printing mailing address, I printed the case number. Then cut them into small strips. Who sends this packet, NVC or the local embassy where the interview is scheduled. How long does it take before this is received. Also can one proceed with the medical examination and submission of documents at VFS before receiving the packet if applicable. Thanks a lot for responding. Packet4 is mailed out by the Consulate to the applicant. Most people will get it before the interview date, but we were unlucky last time. We got it after the interview.
