OMG My process have 6 month 2 Wk ant 3 days and NOT is approve still,my fiance call last time and USCIS said they are review month march and april, this is so sad!!

My fiance just went to their congressman's office, to ask for help with regards to our case, today. They said that if we don't hear anything within 1 week from USCIS, Congressman will get our case expedited. I think you should let your fiance call your congressman or go to the congressman's office and ask for help. :( :( :(

We're from VSC but last October VSC went from 5 months normal processing time to March 15 on their website which unabled us to ask for a service request. They said the same thing, that their system won't allow them. This is somewhat true because on their computers if your date is indeed beyond the normal processing dates, there's like a button thingy that they can click for service request but if in our case, there's a change in the normal processing time, the button will turn into "gray". Meaning unclickable. That's what the agent we spoke to explained to us.Luckily, the processing time of VSC turned back to 5 months on Nov 15, so when we called they were able to make a service request for us already.

Hi! I even had just been approved last Jan. 6 and my fiance already booked a flight for me last month and my departure date is on the 21st.So hopefully there's going to be no problem.I already did the seminar thingy and all I have left to do is to go back to CFO, present my CFO seminar cert and get it stamped when my visa arrives. Hopefully this week(crossing my fingers*) I'll receive the visa.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFinance waiting for packet
I suggest for you not to wait for the embassy's mail or something because that would take forever.Since I can see that you've been approved since last month, you can actually call NVC to ask for your Manila case number and the date it left NVC and was sent out to the embassy.Your fiance only needs the Manila case no. in order to have the medical exam. I'm also assuming that your papers are at the embassy by this time and can pay the visa fee at BPI and schedule online. Please refer on my timeline as our petition was approved on the 8th of December also, did my medical on the 27th and 28th and had my interview done last Friday, Jan. 6th.Hope everything goes well for you guys.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresi29f finace visa its been 3 months!! help!!

I suppose it's tough when one sees some others (not a lot) get to the next step within a few months at the same service center as you and you're left wondering what you did wrong? Why a few(lucky?) get passed on to the next phase. For example:

A couple with partner from Haiti got NOA1 and NOA2 within same month
Or couple with partner from Philippines have NOA1 in Oct and NOA2 come in Nov.
Or a few couples with partner from Japan having achieved NOA2 within almost 2 months (a few days greater than)

Great for them, and happiness goes out to them, but doesn't seem to bode well for any rhythm or reason.

So, ya.. I feel your pain and unfortunately most of us are in the same boat of unknown.
Is our file being looked at? Has it been lost? Is there a problem that's holding something up? Can we do something to help?
Can't I pay some extra money to help expedite the process?

All the while drilling home the fact that we can't easily be with our loved on.

Yeah, I know. It's tough....

I am from the Philippines and my fiance is a naturalized US citizen and born in the Philippines too but as you can see we waited almost 7 months for our NOA2 even without RFE.So it really depends.Either you're lucky enough to be assigned to an adjudicator that works fast or unlucky enough like me and my fiance. My fiance resorted to asking for congressional help and thankfully that helped and they worked on our papers after that.Well good to say everything is fast track for us now. A month ago we were so worried about our papers but now, we are over the moon for I am approved and leaving soon.   .Just be patient. Many of the vjer's here that I know are still waiting past 8 months already.Be strong and Goodluck on the rest of your journey.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresafter NOA2 req for interview

We are about ready to go to the Interview. I would order the IRS Transcripts for your previous years, it only takes a week to get them and it is free. I would also bring a copy of your 1040. That is what it ask for on the Manila web site so I am researching this issue now. I will also give them my W-2's from previous years and a letter of employment. Since it is so early in the year, I strongly suggest you providing them a 2011 1040 and you should also give them a bunch of recent pay stubs. I am going to submit 10.

It's over kill but you want to pass the support test easily because this hangs a lot of people.

Yep, that 1040 is the "Individual Income Tax Return for tax year 2010 or 2011" on my list. All those listed on my list are the things I provided to the CO during my interview last Jan. 6 and I had no problem and was approved.

Can i give my 2011 tax or does it have to be 2010?

I think you meant 2009 and 2010 tax returns unless you already have the 2011 one, which is yet to be filed this year.Anyways,I'm not one hundred percent sure but my fiance only provided me the recent one. There's no harm though on just bringing the previous tax returns.During the interview just present the current one's and then if the CO asked for the old one's then you can show them those too.Better prepared and ready than be sorry, as what they all say.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNeed co-sponsor or not ? Plz help !!

I am getting the affidavit of support for my fiance for him to bring to his interview. I went to my lawyer today who was being very rude, he told me that I do not need a co-sponsor for a fiance visa although I made only $9200 2010 working August to December. He said that I will not need a co-sponsor until my fiance gets here and is adjusting his status...Could you guys please tell me whether or not I will need a co-sponsor ?

In ( some ) country's you dont need to turn in a I864 affidavit of support so in this way your lawyer is not lying ( but you do need to turn in a I134 ) which is the short form of a I864 and on that you have to show that you can support them and they dont turn into a public charge . if you cant prove that you can support them on the I134 then the embassy in his country will turn him down when he turns those papers . If you did better in 2011 I sugest that you use that year instead because you dont meet the poverty guide lines and if you still cant then find a sponsor

well guys frustration got the better of me last night to tell the truth i would be to frightened to commit the crime even if someone came up with a good plan i was just venting . but to answer a question of someone back there

i was reading the us embassy site and came across what they had to say about allowing a over the age limit person to study in the usa when there family has just recently immigrated to the usa not allowed . and it was my last legal idea to get her here no doubt she will have to stay or i will have to move there its just very sad that they wont make exceptions to the rules

well you can alway move over there and marry her and live in the Philippines.

never have her come ilegally to the country, she would have no future here.

she can try a student visa or if she is a professional, some company could sponsor her.

well she is 22 years old is working on her masters and has a ba in human ecology , she has never left home and is completely dependent on her mom for support . anyone that knows the philippines knows its not easy to get by when your healthy and have been working half your life over there never mind 22 and just starting out and have never held a job not to mention the only family you have wont be around to let you cry on there shoulder when needed .

we were working on a school visa in hopes that she could continue her schooling and maybe put herself in a better position to obtain a b1 . but when i began to read what was written on the us embassy web site under applications f1 visa about how if you should apply for a student visa and your family member has just immirgrated they wont allow you to go because they are afraid you will never come back

my idea was to put in a i130 and let the clock start ticking and then get her into school after some time she could get a few years older and handle herself abit better and she would be that much more educated even if she were to go back to the philippines by then at least she could handle herself and if she were lucky maybe even get a job and a b1 during that time

and if nothing else she would close the gap on the wait time

sorry, but for now you can't she is over 21 so you can't file for her. once you file for your fiance and she comes to the US, marries you and the adjust status becoming a LPR. then she can file for her daughter. as long as she is unmarried. it will take a very long time.

I will kep you informed..we are so excited.. the only thing now is trying to arrnge the medical and interview in a relatively short time frame.. we don't wanna travel back and forth from kalimantan

My husband is in indonesia and just did his medical.... we unfortunately had to move his interview date from january to beginning of march for reasons we could not change... but for the medical.. he went to Dr. Anton .. i forget the last name.. but he and one of the other 3 doctors are in the same practice... my husband was literally just there last week. They scheduled him in less than one week's time from his call for an appointment. As my husband lives in West Sumatra he had to fly there... he caught a morning flight.... took a taxi to the doc (rupiah 175.000), did the exam and took the taxi back to the airport and flew home. His results were ready in 3 days....the office agreed to hold the results until he was back in jakarta for his interview... at the time we asked. they were going to hold them for one month..now its 3...He was there for several hours going through each step of the exam...i am not sure about your case.. but my husband had no immunization records, they are not very common in his area.. so he had to get all of the required ones... he paid rupiah 800.000 for exam with blood work and x-ray and rupiah 900.000 for the immunizations. I hope this helps with your planning... and by the way... i did the email to the embassy to change our interview date from january 5 to march 6.. they replied in 2 days time and gave us the exact date i requested.. they were very accommodating.. wish you all the best...

Lemon,

I included approximately six recent paystubs; a letter from my employer; a letter from the bank which included when I opened the accounts, how much was deposited in the accounts during the past year, and how much is currently in the account. I had this notarized, but I don't think that's really necessary, I just did that because the person who was doing the letter just happened to be a Notary Public. I noticed you don't have this in your list, and since you're leaving tomorrow, do you think you will have the time to get it? It is listed on the I-134 Instructions as something that's good to have. I also included three years of tax returns and I did not sign them as they were e-filed as well, and I also included three years of tax transcripts. I included another letter for Intent to Marry, and they handed those back to Ben.

I hope this helps and good luck with everything! God Bless...~Jill

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 visa, just starting.

Hey all, new here. My fiance and I are just starting the F1 visa journey, should be fun...not, lol. I am American, she is Filipina. We've known each other for going on 2 years. We've met in person twice, once in May in Manila and in July in Bangkok. I've met her family and we are very much in love.

She has never been married, no kids, no criminal record. I am divorced, with 3 grown kids, no criminal record.

I interviewed several immigration lawyers, I live in the DC/Balt area. I have chosen Matthew Glinsmann of Gaithersburg. His firm is high recommended. I had an initial meeting and went over all particulars. Got a good vibe from him, the only thing is the fees..the seem high, but maybe not. He charges a little over 4k to secure the F1 visa, then more if we do the green card once here.

I don't mind paying for excellent service, but man, that seems a lot, but is it worth it? Do we need to go this route? Any advise would be helpful.

Oh my goodness, no no no nooooo, don't pay an attorney. You can do it yourself...most of us on Visa Journey did and we made out superfine. NO ONE knows you or your information better than yourself. Plus, I can't tell you how many people have used immigration attorneys and received an RFE! No way. You're smart...you can handle it.

Thanks! I actually teach online to high school students. It is strange how words, without the benefit of eye contact, can really affect how things come across. Probably I have also spent too much time in Politics and Religion. Things can get pretty heated.

That's my point exactly...if one were in front of you and said something...you wouldn't think twice about it, but in a message (especially without even knowing the other person on a personal level) things can certainly be misunderstood :D And we should know that first hand because we spend (or have spent) so much time on line with our SO's and sometimes things just don't come across the way they were meant to, LOL.

It wasn't you I was responding to there, it was Vanessa and Tony. Sorry for the confusion. Just some people like to jump on other people right away and they don't know the full picture. I just don't appreciate someone telling me 'You need to do' such and such, as though I need some sort of adjustment. Things can be said a bit more tactfully. I don't try to tell other people what they NEED to do. I have been studying the Casablanca consulate for the past two years and have read varying reports about the use of chats. In some of these instances, it has harmed their cases. I wanted to act on the side of caution in this regard, that is all. I don't want to give them things, that they then can bring up, which we might have discussed more than two years ago and have little memory of. That was my intention. I will more than happily provide them some chats at the interview. I just didn't want to blindly send a bunch of chats, that even I have a hard time remembering the situation, the context, etcetera, and then have them throw those back in our face.

We haven't even had an interview yet, so to suggest a Stokes Interview was a bit of the cart before the horse.

Also, you might be a little testy too if you have been fasting all month.

I understand...I think when people respond that they don't mean to sound "this way or that"...sometimes the comments come across sounding harsh when they are not meant to be harsh at all. For the most part, people here just really try to help one another. It's a longggggg road, and it's hard no matter where you turn. And yes, I have to say...if I had to fast, I'd be somewhat of a crank pot, LOL. Things are hard enough! Hang in there!
