K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTrack Case en route from NVC to Consulate
Hi everyone,

I tried a search, but couldn't find anything, I know this has been discussed before. My papers were mailed out of NVC Tuesday nite going to Amman, now just curious how to track to see that the pouch arrived. I know there's a way to, but I forgot :(

Can anyone direct me?

thanks

Good job Phila,
my fiance is half Turkish but resident/citizen of Jordan.

Yes VSC is much faster so that's a plus. It will start to fly by trust me. I can't believe I'm saying that but it's been almost 6 weeks since I've filed and the time really did go by. Of course I was a nervous wreck the whole time lol.

I have the consulate is really nice in istanbul - the ppl i mean - so that's another plus.

K,

I am sorry to hear this happening. I don't know why but it sucks. I have to be honest I think I would just get out and bounce the hell back! Different ppl deal with heartbreak in many ways. I for one would be so furious that I'd go to his town, vacation with a really cute guy and probably cry like a baby every minute, but I'd do it just because I wouldn't know how else to deal.

You deal with it the way that works for you!

I can't believe this has happened.....I would be furious!!! Have any of you tried contacting your local government to make a call on your behalf? Or fax/email an inquiry at least? Maybe that would help. Sorry I don't have anything else comforting to say except good luck and I'll keep you in my prayers.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI am afraid
Younes,

thank you for posting the truth, it makes a big difference. Usually, this site is good for information but in MENA alot of us know each other personally and you know the pics are still here from before. I will give you that in that you came clean and that's a good thing.

About your girl now if you have told her 100% truth then it is between you and her to decide. Regarding what you should do, really take your time and wait a year if possible just so Immigration has solid proof that your relationship is legitimate and it won't be a mistake.

I hope you get the answers you need.

Last two cents, Mona has a valid point about having the ex update profile. From here and the "other site." It doesn't look good for your case.

best of luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI am afraid
Younes,

Please hear out what fellow VJ'ers are telling you. It's not what you want to hear, but it's very true. This situation sounds a bit awkward and strickingly familiar (I'll leave it at that!). Didn't you mention that the interview was then again rescheduled in March 2007? Even with another visit under your belt in Novemeber of this year, it may be tough to get approval based on this timeline.

I am speaking from experience, when I tell you you need to wait a year from the time the first K1 petition is closed out minimum, regardless of how many visits. There is no rush really take ur time. Although based on your other topic, that would explain the rush.

Bottom line you have a lot of red flags and that's being honest. First you need to write down this timeline and make sense of it so you can address with your petition. Most importantly, please please be open to all the advice given.

Either way you decide good luck with your choices.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresjust venting about fee increase
Thank you for your concern. :)

(actually didn't mean to put that part in bold... )

We have numerous people willing to be sponsors for us when the time comes.

The current money problem is that my ex is trying to hurt me by not paying his support. He claims that since the police removed him from the home, I am the one currently responsible for paying the full mortgage payment for our house (which a judge has said I am NOT). And, money we have in the bank is frozen right now... he and his lawyers are bastards for sure. His family is wealthy, so he has no worries. But I am struggling now on less than $100 a week. The good news is that what he hasn't rightfully paid will be awarded eventually in the settlement.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresjust venting about fee increase
Been waiting patiently to get my divorce over, so I can get the awful past behind me and move on with better things.

Prior to the announcement of new fees, we mane plans for my honey to come over fro the UK for the first two weeks of August, and for us to sit down and get the paperwork done then, to be ready to submit when the divorce was finalized. (Originally the divorce was to take until the autumn to be finalized, so we thought August was a smart date.)

Now I am told the finalization date will be August 15th!

I am happy to get it done sooner, but... we miss the new fee cut-off by only two weeks!!

Sadly my soon-to-be ex has been a deadbeat dad all these months, so scraping together money for food is tough, let alone the additional money for fees. If the plane ticket for August was refundable, we'd cash it in. It will take us months to both come up with the extra money now.

And on top of it all, we will be in line behind a huge backlog of people who rushed to get the paperwork submitted before July 30th.

I just need to know it will all be alright in the end, but on days like this it feels like the world is against us.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325A Biographical Info... what if fiance doesn't know birth father's info?
My fiance was filling out his biographical info for the G-325A (for the K1), and realized he doesn't know his birth father's birthday or the correct spelling of his last name.

His father abandoned him and his mother when he was 3 years old, and he is 42. Apparently, at that time in Northern Ireland, you did not need to supply any birth father information at the time of birth, so that was left blank on his birth certificate (no father is listed). His mother is deceased, and no other relative knows the missing info.

Any answers or opinions on how he should fill out the G-325A? The options seem to be to write "UNKNOWN" for the name and birth date of his father, or to just make an educated guess at both.

We are leaning towards "UNKNOWN", but we are afraid it will raise flags and result in the denial of our application. sad.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCan someone explain this please?

Check out this link for some comprehensive info about 'touches'.
http://www.visajourn...p?showtopic=300

A touch means that your case has been handled in some way, if only to be moved from one corner of an adjudicator's desk to another.

Your estimate of adjudication is a calculated date which is an *** estimate *** based on exisiting timelines averages. It's the date when you can expect an yes/no about your visa approval.

Jen

Oppps guess I should've looked around a bit more before posting the question....Thanks !

Hi all,
I find myself coming here everyday to learn more about the K-1 visa process and to compare timelines, when I look at some timelines they say "touched" what does that mean? Also in the comments of my timeline it says "Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated as early as July 25, 2007*" who wrote that? What does it mean? I'm sure I will have more questions through out my journey.

Thanks for your help!

Hi all we are still trying to gather documents needed for my fiancée to get her passport. We have her birth certificate from NSO, NBI clearance and baptismal certificate the problem is the ID. Eve just received her high school transcript, but they have the wrong month of birth on it (is that a problem?) she will also get her drivers license and use her postal ID, hopefully this will be enough to get her passport.

hello to everybody. as usual, the more i read the topics in this forum, the more information i get and for that, i thank everybody. i've been reading topics about what would be considered as evidence to prove that the petitioner and benficiary have met within 2 years before filing the 129f. we sent our application before we discovered and joined this forum so we really never got the chance to see what document/s is/are considered as "substantial" evidence/proof aside from the pictures that we have together. i (the beneficiary) was in the US under a temporary working visa (H1B) when i met my fiancee at work. i've read in the forum that pictures are just considered as secondary evidence. aside from the pictures, we've also included two of our most recent pay stubs (before i left for the philippines) along with the pictures to prove that we worked for the same company and that we have actually met and seen each other. the pay stubs has the company name and address on it as most pay stubs would have. do u think this will serve or be considered as enough evidence that we have actually met before filing the petition? thank you in advance for any replies.

Maybe. Did your pay stub have a US address printed on it? Did you also send a copy of your passport with H1B visa or at least mention the visa?

unfortunately, we didn't send any copies of the visa nor mention the visa. the paystubs doesn't include my address (the address is printed on the paycheck that i deposit to a bank). we did however, indicated on the the I-129F question #18 that we met at work. hopefully, that will direct the attention of whoever is going to review our petition to the paystubs. thank you for everybody's reply to this question.

Then I'd be getting the appropriate evidence in the hands of the USC, in preparation for an RFE or even a possible rejection. From what you've said, I think it would be a miracle if you have enough to satisfy USCIS.

hi pushbrk,

i was talking to my fiancee and she told me that my address is printed on the paystubs (my bad). but i will still send her copies of my passport w/ visa, etc. to her. thanks.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVPP Davao and Manila Embassy
Hi all, new to this website and unfortunatly wish I found this site before filing. Already got my NOA1 back and things seemd to be going smooth. The length of this process is frustrating. I wanted to make sure all my T's were crossed and I's were dotted so my fiance and I while visiting here in the states hired an attorney to help. Just seemed easier to do at the time and wanted to make sure we didn't miss anything. Our attorney gave us a choice of Consulates (Davao and Manila) Just so happens Davao is much easier to travel to for my fiance and that's what we chose. Now that I've been researching I find out the Davao probably doesn't do interviews. If I try to contact USCIS I might delay the paperwork on an already long process. Does anyone know if they will just automatically send the paperwork to Manila or will it just get set aside. Anyone else run into this problem? I sent an email to Davao but have not gotten a reply. Hopefully someone can reassure me that things will be ok and the correction will be made.

Thanks

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat's going on with Vermont
Does anyone know what's taking Vermont so long to process? helpsmilie.gif I know, I'm getting antsy. This process is so frustrating and long, being in the dark, not knowing when you’re going to find out information, it can drive someone nuts. I've heard that calling to check status can delay your process and I surely don't want to do that. People that petitioned 1 month before me have already received their NOA2 in August and early September. You would think that if someone was 1 month ahead you would be the next month behind them, but here I am getting close to 2 month past them. I've been away from my love for 5 month and it's been such a struggle to be apart. Can anyone shed some light to how much longer this wait could be?
