Yes she can. On the day of my interview i saw people with printed emails. They usually have the names of the people who are to be interviewed on each particular day and her name should be among them. Good luck!

Has it ever been an issue when K-1ers simply plan a civil wedding? In lieu of the economy and because we're somewhat not the drink all you can partying kind, my fiance and I wanted to have an intimate and quick ceremony, no church and no big reception, dance the night away type of thingie. That's the reason I'm kicking back and relaxing and not worrying about any wedding details. I mean how much can you really plan within 90 days? Now out of paranoia, I wonder if COs will find that questionable or what. Has anyone been questioned for this?

No one will question you about it if you have a marriage certificate. All the best.

Waiting can be stressing at times. Your hubby can call and you can also check the time-lines of other VJers who applied for the same visa so that you can know that you are not alone. We wish you a speedy process.

If it helps to reassure you, sometimes files will never be touched on the online update and the person then gets a notice of approval while it still reads that their case is pending. So, not getting touched doesn't necessarily mean that your file is not being looked at - it just means that they aren't updating your information. I hope you hear something soon.

Refer to the pinned topic above. I doubt it will be a problem as it is common for men to be consierable older than their wives in the PI and is not a cultural red flag. There is in some countries. In the Philippines, for example, it's called a "Certificate of No Marriage", or CENOMAR. Odds are that if such a certificate is available in the beneficiary's country, then the US consulate in that country will require it.

You are still at a point when you can move on. Just because he has his visa does not mean you have to go through with marriage.

You also have 90 days in the US to decide whether you want to marry him. Once you do marry, you have to accept his behavior on a permanent basis pretty much. Your getting mad is not going to change much. You both have to talk it out on the issues. Tell him that his getting into debt upsets you, see what he says.

I agree with this answer completely. You do have 90 days. In 90 days alot of information about a person can be obtained when you live together.

I think the requirement should be changed to 180 days as 90 is not really long enough for a test of living together..Then deciding to Marry. But it has been this way for a very long time now. It really should be changed to more than 90 days.............But....This is just my personal opinion..........

Hi, it's nice to see this community here.

I am just starting a K-1 visa, I-129F form...

My fiance needs to submit:

Letter of Intent
Passport Photo
G-325A Form

I am wondering if she has to fill those forms by hand, go to a store and get a passport photo, mail them to me in America, or can she can she just scan those documents or fax them and I can print them out (so that we can complete the forms quicker).

Any tips for a successful petition would awesome, like the best things to provide/show to the gov't agency. Is there anything else that she can provide?

-Marcus

The letter of intent must be an original, i.e., it must bear her original signature. A fax, photocopy, or printout of a scan will generate an RFE.

The G-325A for the foreign fiance does not strictly require an original signature according to USCIS policy; however, some adjudicators are apparently oblivious to this and have generated RFEs for this too. Therefore, to minimize the chance of RFEs, better to have her original signature on these as well. It need not be filled out by hand, however; you can assist her in filling them out, save the data in the PDF, and have her print, sign, and send to you.

As for the passport photo, if she emails you a high-quality, high-resolution digital photo (meeting USCIS/DoS standards) in the correct size, you could print it here, either at a photo center (Walmart, CVS, etc.) or on your own printer if its output is of high enough quality. Or she could send them to you. Your call here.

Tips for a successful petition: include both primary and secondary evidence of having met in person within the past 2 years (consult the guides for info on what constitutes primary and secondary evidence). This is key to getting your petition approved by . Also, do some research on the consulate where your fiancee will eventually be interviewing to determine whether front-loading the petition is advisable.USCIS

Good luck!

What do you mean by front loading a petition? I am ready to send in my I-129F also. Any info would be appreciated

In the last 5 years I was unemployed 3 times So as not to leave any date gaps I need additional space as There is not enough space to place this information..... One for each page or just one attachment for the whole 4 pages. And is it ok to staple it to the back of each copy if I need to have 4 copies of the list? Thanks

I've never heard of anybody going to such lengths. The boarding passes and passport stamps evidence you were in the same country. That's good enough for USCIS every time.

I debated whether to answer this thread, as you've already received the answers that you were seeking.

I would like to comment that people on this board are from all over the world, from different walks of life and bringing different levels of life experience. The amount of time that they have been here isn't always indicative of their experience. It's possible they have already completed parts of the process or indeed the entire thing, but 'found' VJ when searching for related information. Just because someone hasn't got 'provable' experience, doesn't mean that they don't have something to offer.

VJ thrives on being an informative, experienced board but also supportive and empathetic. PPs had no way of knowing that you are not interested in anything other than concrete input. Not everyone IS capable of thinking as completely for themselves and many find paperwork very overwhelming. I just read a post by a very articulate long-standing member who's fiancee had been unreachable for several weeks and someone asked if he could contact the local police station and express his concern. He replied he hadn't thought of that and made arrangements. Seems logical to me, though.

If all you want from VJ is definitive advice on how to proceed, then maybe put something in your signature that indicates you are not interested in guessing or chitchat. It will help you get only the answers you need and help others from wasting their thoughts on your posts.

Wishing you the best of luck and speed with your application.

I think that this is a very good suggestion. I have seen other posters say that only serious answeres are needed and please don't reply without one.
In the future I will be doing this as I have no time for playing and chit chat with posters that just like to be heard.
Thanks

If either of you have a husband or wife, you are ineligible for a K1 visa. So hopefully the answer is in fact "None" for both of you. A fiance(e) is not a spouse.

What about the boxes that are to the right of it? do you leave them blank or write in N/A
No need—once you've answered "None," it's clear that none of the additional information applies.

Also can there be different dates next to the signature of Applicant or do both have to be dated the same day, as if you did them while you were together.
No reason whatsoever why they'd need to have the same date.

I am under the impression that the Original signature on all 4 copies was most important. If I am wrong someone who knows for sure please correct me.. Thanks
USCIS no longer requires four copies. But yes, original signatures are important.

The new G325a has only one copy but if you use the old one, yes sign all four. When using the I-129F for a fiance(e), the word "NONE" should be entered or spouse. I like to enter N/A in all but the date fields that follow in that section. The dates need not be the same or even close but all signatures should be dated AFTER the in-person meeting.

I tried to log in to my USCIS website to check my status but I couldn't get into my account so i called the customer service thinking since i couldn't get my status online that might mean i have been approved or they are updating my status to reflect the approval only to be told by the customer service person [I finally got through to a human] that I still have to wait for 73 more days because right now VSC is dealing with December petitions. I am really tired of all this waiting. I told her i will be out of the timeline in 73 days and she said to call back if that happens [as if i will get a human to answer my questions again] I told her why are people who filed after me getting their approval if they are truly working on December petitions, she couldn't answer the question. I don't really make a fuss about things but I am just frustated, can't go for a visit cos i don't have vacation time nor the money for that right now. This is truly frustrating, is there anything i can do right now [Please don't say you need to be patient] I am already doing that and believe me it's not fun. Just needed to vent. crying.gif sad.gif

Hi:

I am a February filer and our case just got approved at the end of June. I won't tell you to be patient, but just be mindful that everything happens for a reason. What I will say is have faith. The other advice that I will give you is that if you are not "satisfied" with what the first operator told you at USCIS or even if something doesn't sound right, keep calling! Maybe the next person will tell you something different. Its just like if you need major surgery and you don't like what the first doctor told you, get a second opinion! I went into the first process thinking it would take six months from the date I filed until the 2nd NOA and it doing so, imagine my surprise and joy when it came in 4 months... Keep the faith. You are not alone...

Hope this helped ease your pain some! God Bless....
