Just tax transcripts will be enough?

Hi,

I'm a little bit confused. Will tax transcripts be enough
for i-864 form and how many years should I send? I didn't have good income
before, only recent two years.

Please advise.

After NVC finishes with case

Hello Everyone,

I'm sure this question and respective answer is posted here somewhere, but after the NVC is done with your case, how do you know when they ship it to the Embassy? I know how to do the whole DHL thing, but is there a way of knowing when the case has left the NVC for the Conulate?

Our case was done at the NVC yesterday and I'm ready for the interview! All I need is my medical:star:

Call at DOS number 202-663-1225, may be after 2 weeks.

Co-sponsor question!!

Ok I am the beneficiary. My wife has a child from a previous relationship. So that makes 3 in the household. For her to sponsor me she must of made $22,000 for the last year income tax return. She only made $16,000. Her Mother is willing to sponsor me but she only made $18,000. Would her mother be eligible to be a co-sponsor? Meaning with what they both earnt TOGETHER will that qualify? Or does her mother have to make over $22,000 too??

As long as her mother is household to her (same principal residence), she can combine her mother's income on top of her income. Now the household size is 4.

She will file I-864 and mother will fill I-864A in the above case is yes.

Thanks for the info.
I agree that they ask for PCC from both their district police station and the local area passport office.
BUT THE LOCAL AREA PASSPORT OFFICE in Mumbai is in Worli and the process is at VT Victoria Terminus. These office coordinates with each other before giving the PCC.
Now there is NO DISTRICT LEVEL PCC in Mumbai since it is a city. See if some one who lives outside the Mumbai or in Gujarat or another state will have another Local PCC issued from that village/that city/that taluka/that district where they live. Some one who lives in Mumbai lets say till Borivali or Thane they dont get any seperate PCC from their local Police station since the local police station says that you have to apply at the passport office in Worli/VT.
We tried asking our local Police to issue the PCC several times but then each time they said u have to go to Passport office in Worli.
This is my experience.
I dont know what will happen but this is what I have done.

That makes sense, Kapad. Probably Consulate may be knowing it as well. If they ask, convince them very clearly.

I did not get the local PCC since they said it is one and the same as the passport office PCC which one gets in VT, Mumbai. The local police do not give any PCC from their end and they said the one issued from Passport office in Victoria Terminus VT, Mumbai is enough. My case was approved in NVC. I GOT MY SIGN IN FAILUER at NVC. I am waiting for the interview date letter.
I shall keep you posted.

Can the Indian Mumbai emabassy give an RFE?
The reason is that the PCC we provided was given by the CID office. Now the individual police stations dont give the PCC (Local PCC).
Each hawaldar gives a different opinion and the officer said we cannot provide any seperate PCC.
So I am worried.

If the consulate officer needs the PCC from the police station, it will be AP 221(g) - Administrative Processing. Otherwise, you will just pass the interview.

You can again make the translation and notarize it.

I have received intruction to start DS-230. I am helping my wife fill the form. Here are my questions?
DS-230 part I question 32: " In what occupation do you intend to work in the United States? My wife worked as an accountant. When she comes, she intend to stay home be a housewife and later go back to school for a master. I don't know what to put there. Can we considere housewife as an occupation "UNKNOWN" or "NOT DECIDED" etc.
Does NVC send the approved I-130 and all its corresponding documents to the consulate? Yes. You can collect the originals back after the interview.
Is it ok to ask my wife to get some vaccinations done prior to getting the list of vaccination needed from the consulate? Yes. It would save some money.
Does she need to my birth certificate, marriage certificate and divorce papers since I have already provided those in I-130? Did you send the original or copy with I-130 to USCIS? If originals are sent, better arrange another original for the Consulate interview. USCIS will keep the originals with them.

NVC case Number

I checked the NVC case # for couple more time and i finally got the first three letter is HCM, i think the NVC staff enter they wrong. it should be MTL right? any idea how to fix this???

tokyo.lovers, I have added the below points. At the same time, I want to make it as simple as it can in plain English so that any new person will have an overview of this process and will not be confused.

3 points added:

1) If the petitioner lives in the beneficiary's country, this is not the guide and go for Direct Consular Filing (DCF) with the Consulate in that country.
2) Tip to speed up NVC: In order to save some time in NVC, obtain beneficiary's Police Clearance Certificates (PCC) at around the I-130 approval time. PCC may be valid for 1 year, 6 months, 3 months or even 1 month, so please check with the beneficiary's Consulate.
3) If the beneficiary is a male between the age 18 to 26 years old while arriving the U.S, he must register with the Selective Service of the U.S in order to avoid further issues with the U.S citizenship.

I called the USCIS on 8-25-10 as suggested. Thanks! I got a touch on 9-8-10 woooh000 finally something. I hope to see something more than that, but it least the date changed from 2-24 to 9-8. LOL It's a step forward. They did say I should hear something by 9-25. I hope the NOA2 is coming soon. That would be a nice birthday present!

Yes. I did. Actually, they sent me the AOS bill via email and the ds3032 form, too (they already knew my email address). So, I sent the choice of agent form and confirm that I want to received the info in my email address. And received the auto response.

Then call NVC live operator right now and enquire.

Yes, I did it already. The AOS bill showed paid in 2 days. But We haven't received the IV bill yet and the DS3032 not accepted yet. That's my concern now. I think they're taking too much time to review emails.

Then you can send the AOS package with its barcoded sheet now.

IV bill will be generated only after DS-3032 acceptance. Did you provide them proper DS-3032 details by email?

guys! nvc is working pretty slow. I paid the aos fee bill 1 week ago, and I emailed the ds3032 the same day. Received the auto response. But nothing new yet. Im working in the aos, now. but would like to send everything together (aos package+iv package).

If you have paid online using NVC Case# and IIN, check the same payment site to see if the payment is "PAID". If yes, print out the bar code to mail the package.

sending by mail is fine anyway. it can be there in less than 24 hours if you send it by express.

LingChe shortcut is also correct.

Rather than sending W2,1040 etc. why don't you get IRS tax transcripts. It is more authentic and cleaner method for petitioner's income.

AOS package includes: I-164 (in my particular case, just this one)completed and signed, w-2 (income tax), pay stubs and a photocopy of the sponsor's birth certificate or passport data page.

IV package includes: DS230, beneficiary's birth certificate, marriage certificate, photos... etc..(legal documentation.

Am I correct or missing something? do I have to include something else in the AOS package?

Now trying to get USCIS to expedite it - called in and explained the situation. The lady put through another expedite request via internal email, and told me that if no news from USCIS by this Friday then just give them another call.

Will see how it goes.

The weird thing is that I called USCIS on Friday and asked the 2nd-line IO to help locate the application but she said she could not find any case under my name or my son's name,

Then today I discovered that the I-130 check has been cashed on the exact same day (08/20/2010)

Is that so usually the case number/receipt will be generated and entered into the system before the check to be cashed?

Glad to know that your check is cashed. Now you are all set. If you had filled the form G-1145 along with I-130, you should get notification by email with Receipt# (check spam folder as well). Otherwise, in the next 3 to 4 days time, you will have NOA1 by mail.
