CSC told us we had to wait till This f'n friday for a decision...the wife sent a letter/faxed it to them asking them ####### was up...she's called everyday...today she called Tier 2 said she had to wait till this Friday to hear of their decision. She got the same answer today. Tier 2 said on Friday that they were working on OUR case as we were speaking..cough..horseshit...cough. Glad to see everyone is moving along nicely. Has anyone from our July Filers group from CSC gotten their NOA2s? I'm just thinking since Dec 19 is 7 weeks away..they might just make us wait. grr. CRN, Glad to see you back! I can feel your frustration! Currently, CSC "regular ball" is in June beginning court. One guy (Rumbabumba) an Aug CSC filer got the approval too. Do the consulates have a cut off after a certain amount of interviews are booked for each month? Some consulates are probably busier than others too I'm sure. It is a tough question, Jen and Geert It completely depends on the beneficiary's Consulate. I really feel like the file has been mistaken for a soccer ball and is just being kicked around. The embassy is pointing at NVC and NVC is pointing at the embassy. It truly must be a political year. The embassy informed my wife today that they do not schedule CR-1 visas, NVC does but usually the interview date is set before the file is sent. It reads: We do not yet have this case. What type of case is it? It may be that the NVC will schedule your appointment before they send us the case. Regards, IV Unit Does NVC schedule interviews? If so, is it possible that they can schedule it even though our case left there on 9/29/10? NVC actually schedules the interview based on the Consulate interview slot. You are close to the completion. When you call them tomorrow, ask them how many packages they received from your side and at which date. Basically, you sent 3 packages now. So, you'll have an idea. Once you provide your email addresses to the NVC that pretty much does away with any snail mail activities. I realized that I was getting a RFE because after sending my paperwork 10 days went by and I still didn't get SIF. Then boom I got the email. RFE.... There is a delay between your mailed out IV package and the actual entry/review of it into their system. During this time period, AVR would say "Missing Documents". This is known fact for years. Thanks to you all. OK. Have applied using the I-130 route (i.e married to an american citizen). Have reciept dated June 2010 so expecting the next step very soon which I believe is the I-864 Support forms. My wife has earned very little in the last 3 years so am worried that we are not meeting the minimum poverty requirements.She owns a house, a car and a business in the states (loss making hence the worries). I earn good money here but understand that that is not relevant. Are there any workarounds to the income requirements? Would it help if I got a letter from the business explaining that I am going to work there for a salary of more than the 125% poverty line? Does having property in another country (Lima, Peru) help? Is there a sum of money that I could show as being in the bank which would be an accepted alternative? Sorry for the questions but know that someone will know and be able to help. But you need to do a computation based on your household size, income and asset. 1) Petitioner's asset (house's equity = current market value less mortgages) will be considered at 33.33% if USC petitioner 2) Intending's immigrants asset will be considered at 20% of the total value If the intending immigrant can prove that his/her current income will continue even after the immigration to the U.S, it may be considered. For example, if my wife gets a good rental income in India and I am short of my income, I may add her rental income to mine for AOS purpose, because her rental income will continue even after her migration to the U.S. If nothing meets the poverty line as depicted above, you will have to find out a co-sponsor.
