After submitting the i-130 and the G-325A we received packet 3. In this packet there are a number of forms which we are required complete and return to the US embassy in Seoul. We note that my wife must satisfy a minimum income requirement (according to form labeled I-864) before she can act as my sponsor. We are a little confused about what income she can list to satisfy this requirement. She works as an English teacher in South Korea and earns over $35,000 a year and she has filed US federal income tax returns every years since coming to Korea three years ago. Will my wifes income be accepted by immigration or must we ask a family member in the US to sponsor us? Any advice on this matter will be very much appreciated. Thank you, InKorea. I doubt many consular officers will consider liquidation of a 401k as NOT causing significant harm to the sponsor. From the I-864 instructions. Assets may supplement income if the consular or immigrationofficer is convinced that the monetary value of the asset couldreasonably be made available to support the sponsoredimmigrant and converted to cash within one year without undue harm to the sponsor or his or her family members. Youmay not include an automobile unless you show that you ownat least one working automobile that you have not included. This is what I am also thinking. If you contemplate moving it I would speak with a financial advisor because some Roth IRAs I believe offer more liquidity than others. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Whoops	Hello Everyone, I made it to Cuba. So far everythign is going well with the NVC process. I realized i misunderstood names. I assumd her father's last name to be her middle name and i used her mother's last name as her last name. Unfortunately I am middle of the NVC process (Ds-230 going in). So I am unsure as to how to go about correcting this error (going as far back as the I-130). ] What's interesting is that she doesnt have a middle name, and all her paperwork shows her name with the last two names.. My parents did their interview on 11/1/2010 and was blue slipped so that my mom can take in her old passpost so that the u.s. visa could be cancelled. they are set to go back on tues. nov. 23 do that get/ask for the orginals at that time BEFORE going to the DHL counter to pay the shipping fee.. or will the passpost will be returned and all the documents inside and to finish final processing in the usa and then they will be returned at POE..? RICARDO4EVA2, It is more like Consulate specific. I think, your parents should ask the Consulate to give the originals back on 11/23. If they tell your parents "clearly" that all originals will be included in the passport courier, it is fine. But if it is not, then it will be difficut to enter into the Consulate building later.
