Would a customer service rep be able to tell me if it was received? Your delivery proof is the first proof. You may want to post in a Canada forum and get some info more tailored to your consulate. My advice would be to get a letter from his current employer, stating his monthly and yearly rate of pay, and that he is a permanent employee. Also school transcripts to explain the lack of income in the past 3 years, and then, after all that, have a co sponsor lined up in case they ask for one.. My wife has been living in the folloiwng cities - Bangalore -01-2001 to present, Hyderabad - 12-1999 to 01-2001 and New Delhi - 04-1978 to 12-1999. So does she need police clerance from each of these cities for that time period? She doesn't; even remember her address that she lived in all the above places.She has a police clerance certificate from the current location in bangalore but that is all she has. Chella, Passport Office PCC is mandatory. Also, you have Police station PCC from B'lore. Write an email to Chennai U.S Consulate and get the response. If they say, not needed, you are fine. Also, keep these records during interview time too. Visit Chennai U.S consulate website, you can ask immigrant related visa questions. Normally, they will respond in 1 or 2 days time. I really couldn't understand those processing time charts I'm a Canadian, wanting to marry my American fiance and move there to be with him. Our wedding is scheduled for next september, but the wait of being here in Canada is killing me so we're considering doing the legal marriage this december in order to cut some time off our wait. I'd really rather get legally married on my september wedding day though, so I'm trying to weigh if its worth it. so the question is, from your initial filing, how long did you have to wait until you could enter the united states to stay? thanks so much, I'm really torn about this issue so any advice could help. After your marriage, you can file I-130 petition immediately with all the required documents including marriage certificate. It will take around 5 months. Then NVC process - it can take from 1 to 2 months Then Consulate process - Since you are from Canada, Montreal is the only consulate that process immigrant visa. The queue over there is bit lengthy. I think 4 or 5 months, but someone from there will give exact picture. Now you do the math - all are average timings. There will be plus or minus in the process. Normally, it only takes about a week after the completion date for NVC to schedule interview date for case in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam. However, for some reason they has been really slow on it lately. It has been 3 months and no interview date has been scheduled yet. I have checked with other HCM cases and most people who are completed in September already have interview date? I called NVC and they asked me to wait. I thought interview date is scheduled in completion order. Anyway, I don't know if they forget my case or not? What should I do? Thank you in advance. Will I received DS-3032 by mail at my home address, and certified copies of Marriage certificate and Birth certificate means notarized copy? NVC will send DS-3032 by mail, but it will take many months. Instead follow the guides here to speed up the NVC process when you are at that stage. Beneficiary's civil documents must be original/certified copy. It is not notarized copy. Also add photocopy of each civil documents. If you produce certified copy to NVC, prepare to show the original at interview. It says the weight is 4.0lbs. Which is odd, cos the NVC never had any supporting docs from us, but quite a bit of the expedite info, so Im still hoping it is the right one. I think Im going to apply for a job at the NVC when I get home - any queries "Attention PI Supervisor Loto" for any problems - in future! 4 lb means it has some other persons' docs too whose interview is coming up.
