QUOTE (mralphabet @ Nov 14 2008, 02:12 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
i called NVC this morning because i kept thinking what else my wife needs. i keep reading about affadavit of support so i had to contact them to find out what is going on. What i was told by the NVC is that they sent my AOS to the u.s. embassy in manila since it was approved so not to worry. i felt relieved hearing this but i know my wife should take a copy of my tax return which she has. anyhow, thought i might share that with you all.

thanks!

something isn't right with your story. this is why we ask for people to Post a Timeline. the NVC didn't send your AOS to manila. it sent your NOA2 approval notice for I-129F petition to Manila. ( if indeed your wife is filing for a K3 visa ).. your wife still needs the complete affidavit of support with evidence in duplicate as required. so click on guides at the top of the page and study the I-134 affidavit of support.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresSwitching lawyers
QUOTE (SankuNiku @ Nov 15 2008, 05:36 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I appreciate everyone's sentiment.

is there anyone in this forum who could share their experience of removing their lawyer from the visa process? What did you need to do to get it done? Did it delay your visa process at all? That's the center of this discussion.

I feel the same way about removing the lawyer from our case. what I'm doing is just letting things run their course. I gave him half up front ($1000.00) and he won't get another dime from me. from before we got our NOA2 for our petitions I was fixing his mistakes. Its funny now cause every time he calls to tell me something that I have to do, I tell him hes about 2-4 weeks too late. I have done the paperwork since August and will continue to do it myself. yes they mailed the original to the lawyer (NOA2), but I got a courtesy copy and that is all I needed. After my wifes interview and she arrives here in the US, I will ask for the original paperwork and say good bye formally to his service. (or lack of service). thanks to VJ, I now feel comfortable with the rest of the proceedings being handled by wife and myself.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNo income from my side, but I do have a co-sponser, will this affect my husbands interview?
will you be staying home and watching the baby when your husband gets there or will he take care of the baby. if you plan to work and your husband will be the stay home dad, include a letter explaining that and where your future work will be.

we cook and eat together (via webcam), sometimes we sleep together or celebrate a holiday or birthday together. I have taken the laptop camping with me and we enjoyed that together ( thanks to borrowed wi fi ) and a small disagreement is always good for the relationship. well actually just the part where you make up !!!

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureshelp with K3 packet
QUOTE (Karin und Otto @ Dec 3 2008, 08:04 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
QUOTE (jjjjjohn @ Dec 3 2008, 06:54 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I'm getting ready to send out the first K3 packet today and I was wondering about evidence of a bonafide marriage. My wife and I talk everyday on vonage and on MSN with webcam and such. I have screen shots of our conversations on MSN with both of us on webcams and I have a print out of my vonage bill, averaging about 4000 minutes a month smile.gif. Is this enough evidence or should I include something else? Also, copies of marriage and birth certificates, could I just copy those on a scanner or do I have to call the county clerk office to get official copies. Thank you for the help.

Its unclear what 'packet' you're sending out - but according to the GUIDE under assembling the package, it lists the following as possible evidence:

Note: Evidence of a Bonifide Marriage

The USCIS now requires that when filing an I-130 for a spouse that you include evidence of a bonifide marriage. They list examples of acceptable evidence as:

1. Documentation showing joint ownership or property; or
2. A lease showing joint tenancy of a common residence; or
3. Documentation showing co-mingling of financial resources; or
4. Birth certificate(s) of child(ren) born to you, the petitioner, and your spouse together; or
5. Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by third parties having personal knowledge of the bona fides of the marital relationship (Each affidavit must contain the full name and address, date and place of birth of
the person making the affidavit, his or her relationship to the petitioner of beneficiary, if any, and complete information and details explaining how the person acquired his or her knowledge of your
marriage); or
6. Any other relevant documentation to establish that theres an ongoing marital union

good.gif

that doesn't apply to people who don't live together. just send in copies of your marriage cert along with pictures of the wedding and reception. marriage license. you may want to add a notorized letter from a family member or other witness that states they witnessed the wedding. talking and chatting online doesn't prove a marriage took place.

I think they will ask for copies of the w-2 or 1099, etc. whatever is relevant in your situation for 2008. but taxes aren't always available that soon, considering you have till april 15 to file and even later if you file for an extension. definately have 2007's ready. and put an effort into 2008 taxes being ready....

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresGot My Visa Today!!!
Thank you Charles, Nagi, Mamalou, RJG, and daboyz....

.the interview went great, no problems. they where just slow as hell for some reason. actually we bought plane tickets for wife and son to travel on the 8th. figuring that would be plenty of time to recieve the visa, via delbros. but I guess sh@t happens. so we rebooked it for the 25th. just hoping the weather is good in NY AND THEY CAN LAND IN jfk on the 25th.

we didn't convert to IR1 visa cause the bonehead lawyer we hired never advised us to file the I-130 for her son in the beginning. so we just had to follow the K3 path. we only used the lawyer to get us started. and then we finished the process so far with the help of the great people from VJ. we didn't ask too many questions, but we didn't have to. all we had to do was read and pay attention. most questions we had were already asked by others here. we wish all here at VJ a fantastic 2009 and for those who are still apart, a speedy reunion with their loved ones.. thank you all.... larry always wants a comfortable hotel..and at that time, the hotel was fully booked due to 400 chinese people who'll stay in the hotel, so the only room left was the executive suite..and we got the suite for $308 per night.and we stayed there fr 4 days...but worth it though.. before we always stay at HYATT REGENCY for $198 a night but for some reason the hotel is closed now...

but i dont know how much they charge for the regular rooms.

hyatt regency moved and is now called the hyatt hotel and casino. I have gotten a beautiful room as low as usd..130.00, but without advance reservation about usd..190.00... also for 5 star service try the century park hotel. its a little more reasonable and very nice... since I always have a driver I'm really not sure of the address..

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresFebruary Filers - NOA2?
QUOTE (Fahad S @ Jun 9 2008, 04:44 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
You all should sit patiently. I had filed my I-130 in December 2007 and my I-129F petition in February 2008 and am still waiting. I would imagine that it would take about another 4 to 5 weeks or so for most of us February filers to see any approvals. This is just my estimate based on observing wait times over the 7 months or so.

Good luck to us all.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresFebruary Filers - NOA2?
Hi All,

I just found this forum after finding this website trying to research visa timelines. I have filed my I-130 and I-129F for my husband. This is my current timeline so far:

I-130:
Received NOA1 February 20, 2008
Case Updated May 5, 2008 (I think you guys call this a "touch")

I-129F:
Received NOA1 February 28, 2008
Case Updated March 13, 2008

Oh and my case is at the VSC.

I guess my question is, have any of you other February filers received an NOA2 yet for your I-129F or I-130? Maybe I'm being impatient but I thought maybe I would hear something by now.

Thanks in advance for your help!
