K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedurescan i apply for k3 visa and my i 130 revoked
I know you don't want to hear this, but you have to wait. Either let your wife come back to the USA to get her medical care, or suck it up, and find a good doctor there. Your petition has been revoked. No other petition will be approved with a revoked petition in appeals. I am in no way trying to be a jerk, but you have to wait. Pushbrk is right, there is no visa in your near future. You will only be able to move on if you accept that. Since you are in for a wait, your top priority should be your wife's health. You both have some tough decisions to make. Also, how would be able to apply for an I129, but not a K3? That is the same thing because you are married.

I am also wondering....your wife could leave her child to stay with you, but she can't leave you to get better medical care? I feel bad for your situation, but you both need to start acting like adults, the whining will not get you anywhere. Accept your current situation, and make the best of it. Good luck

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionsponsor and finances
I am a little worried. I found out I have to give all my financial information to sponsor my fiance. I don't have a bank account, and I don't make too much money. Will this cause a problem for him coming here? I live with my parents, and he will be living here. Everything was perfect until i found this out, now I am afraid because of my finances, I won't be with him. Anyone have any advice??

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI-134 help needed
I am sorry in advance if this topic is covered somewhere else, and I just missed it. I have read the instruction form on the USCIS web site for filling out form I-134, and looked all over VJ, and I still need some clarification. I am sponsoring my fiance, and my mom will be a co-sponsor. What exactly do I need for evidence?? I have heard I need my tax forms from the last couple of years, but did not read this on the instructions that came with the form on the USCIS web site. Also, since my mother makes way over the poverty line, I have heard she doesn't need the letter from her employer, just her
w-2's and her taxes from the last couple of years. Also, if she makes enough money, does she have to go into what she has in stocks, and savings and other assets?? She will list her home, but not sure she HAS to put down all her assests, or if her income alone is enough. I thank you so much in advance for the information to help me.

QUOTE (thepizzadude @ Oct 11 2009, 11:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
If you are above the minimums they are not needed unless the consulate specifically asks for them.

I did go to the web site the NVC gave to see if casa wanted anything specific, and there was nothign specific for that consulate...

US Embassy and Consulate Discussion134 clarification
I just need one more thing clarified for me, because I haven't gotten much sleep, and have been working like a dog, so my brain is not functioning to full capacity wacko.gif

My co-sponsor makes well over the minimum. I know we will send our tax forms, and w-2's, but does she still need banking info for evidence? or will the evidence I have already listed be sufficient? We will send anythign we need, but would be happy if we could just send taxes and w-2's.

Thanks everyone... unsure.gif

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionStopped the Interview
We were denied on jan 5 for the k-1 also. They treated my SO badly as well and asked him that many questions as well. After searching and looking at all the options we have decided to get married in march. I do have both my senators and congresswoman involved. However I am getting a little worried as I read this thread. I hope we are not making a mistake. What if the USCIS decides to review our K-1? Do we then tell them we got married? I heard it is bad to actually cancel the petition ourselves. I am confused now. BTW the interviewer told my SO if USCIS reapproved our petition that they would then issue the visa. We figured out by going over everything pretty much why we were denied. Anyways to the OP, make sure you two make a sound and educated decision. The first week, we were in shock so we could not decide much. After the shock was over then we researched our options. I know our hearts are breaking but we need to make sure we make these decisions with our heads. Good luck to you and you may PM me anytime for support or a buddy!

I don't see why it wouldn't be an issue or a flag in itself. I mean I am sorry it happened to you guys but I am just being realistic and honest.

I love my husband with all my heart and I trust him with my life, but there were moments when I had to take a step back and evaluate our choices because I see the man once a year!!!! And mind you, we have been together for 6 years.
So if I had my doubts from time to time being "actively involved in that relationship" and I know the man inside out and he knows me the same, then I don't see how you can be so convinced that a singular meeting between two people before they take the plunge right away, why wouldn't that raise eyebrows for outsiders ( embassy)?

I appreciate your honesty, but I do not totally agree with you. Now I do agree that the person doing the interview has to be very stringent in looking for these frauds, but I do not think that one visit should be a red flag. Many people can not take multiple trips in the year due to work and finances, and I am sure the people at the embassy can understand that. I know 3 people who all had 1 visit with their fiances, and they were all approved. For myself, I was able to have a three week trip in april to visit my fiance and his family, but am unable to book another trip for another year. That should not be held against me. Any doubts I had before I met him were dashed after I met his entire family, and him. Slept in his family's home, and lived everyday with them for three weeks. We both knew for sure that we would wait however long it took to be together. I would move there, but I have a son from my previous marriage, so that is not possible. We are only 4 years apart, so I don't think age will be a problem for us. Either way, I am sorry to hear about your denial, I am worried about the same thing, because even though we sent a lot of evidence, you just never know. Good luck with everything, and make sure your package does NOT leave the embassy....If it does, your journey will lengthen almost 6 months or more....I pray for all of us going through this process, and I am glad to have a place like this to connect!! good.gif

Where is NVC? Check USPS, maybe it is just the mailing time, really. At least for the RFE, it took the exact 5 days their website said it would be the max for Vermont to Oklahoma. After mailing time you could start poking around. By that math I expect approval for next week, hoping they keep that pace thondgd4me is calculating... and their letter did say it would take a minimum of 14 days... back to waiting.

NVC is in Portsmouth, NH. that is why mine went so quickly. I live in Southern NH, 4 hours from VSC, and 45 min from NVC, so I got my mail quick from them, and NVC got the packet quick. Good luck everyone!

Help... Please. What do they mean not denied? Plus case expires may 9th so ....
Dear Madam,

Thank you for your inquiry on behalf of your fiancé Mr. **** regarding his I-129F petition.  Mr. **** visa has not been denied His case was returned to the Department of Homeland Security's Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on April 17, 2012 for further review.  Due to the personal nature of the information, the file was sent via registered diplomatic pouch (Reg # 7448616).  The Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services will be contacting you to discuss the return of the petition to their office.  However, if you wish to seek information on the status of the case, you should contact the USCIS National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.  You are advised to wait a few weeks before contacting USCIS to allow them to receive and review the file.

This is a denial, they just won't say those words. Sending it back is denying a visa. USCIS has the final say. It will most likely expire. I'm so sorry to hear the bad news.

U can use magic jack to call a usa cell phone... I don't recall ever saying that u hook the jack up to ur cell phone. The ppl over seas use the jack to place a call to u... they can place the call TO your cell phone or land line....not FROM ur cell.
I hope this makes more sense. We also don't use the jack in our home coz it's not needed.
we bought the 1 jack, gave it a houston number (local to us) and sent that jack to his family over seas. They hooked that jack up to their computer and hook their home phone up to it and use it to call us whenever they want at no charge (either they call our home phone or they call our cell phone)
I keep thinking that I explain this the right way so plz let me know if this still seems confusing.

You make perfect sense. Ouadia and I have agreed that the magic jack will work perfectly when he is finally here. We will get one for his family, and that will solve our worries over phone charges to speak with his family. Thanks for the advice!

Set up magic jack with a local number to the city you live in. send the magic jack to them. they hook up the magic jack to their computer. plug their land line phone to that.
either you can call the magic jack number from your land line or cell phone with no international charges OR they can use the magic jack line to call your land line or cell phone.
there are no extra charges as it is a "local" call. the only charges are the typical incurred minutes if u use ur cell phone to call (just like if u use it to call anybody) or if he calls ur cell phone (just like u'd normally incur minute loss/or if ur over ur minutes, then overage charges when anybody calls ur cell phone)

Lloyd: Okay.

MouadsWife: can i call another country "Morocco" using magic jack with my cell phone?

MouadsWife: I would have to use a land line yes?

Lloyd: What do you mean by using a magicjack with your cellphone?

MouadsWife: I have been in a discussion where we are discussing using magic jack to call Morocco. I was told that they can call USa using magic jack, by using theyre cell phone

MouadsWife: I have explained that is not possible because the phone has to be hooked up to the magic jack...correct?

MouadsWife: and a cell phone can not because they use a tower.

MouadsWife: I am also requesting information because I sell these where I work, and have many friends with family outside the country and would like to know more about its features.

Lloyd: Please do not plug the telephone to the wall jack. Just simpy plug the telephoen to the magicJack

MouadsWife: yes, as I thought. but a "cell phone" does not even come into the equation correct? A cell phone can not be used with a magic jack...correct?

Lloyd: Yes

Lloyd: Correct

MouadsWife: One more question if you do not mind...

Lloyd: Sure

Lloyd: It's alright

MouadsWife: If I was to purchase a magic jack... "I live in USA"... and I wanted to call Morocco, but they do not have a magic jack... I will be subject to fees correct?

Lloyd: Yes

MouadsWife: What if, I had a magic jack, and they had a magic jack, there would be no fees correct?

Lloyd: Call rate for Morocco is 0.25 cents per minute

MouadsWife: I sincerely appreciate your time, this has helped a great deal!

Lloyd: It is free of charge, Melissa

Lloyd: Glad to hear that

Lloyd: Is there anything else I may help you with today?

MouadsWife: Thank you.. this completes all my questions!! Have a great day!!

Lloyd: Thank you for stopping by to chat, I hope I did a good job at addressing your concerns. Please take a second to answer a one question survey about the service I provided. Please click the "close" button on the top right of this screen and the survey will appear. Thanks again!

MouadsWife: thank you...I will!

So all in all.... 1. If you have a magic jack and they do not you willbe subject to pay fees.. .25 a minute. 2. If you have a magic jack and they have a magic jack, them calling you and you calling them is free. 3. If you have a magic jack, and want to call them on they're cell phone, you will have fees. Its only landline to landline because the line hookd into the magic jack. 4. Thats goes for them too, if they want to call you, they have to use a landline.

Wow, thanks for the efforts! My fiance and I were talking about this, and he told me after researching that it won't work unless he is home, and if he is home, we might as well use icall or msn or skype to talk. LOL Really, I appreciate it!! good.gif

If he can already call you for free, why dont you just miss ring him and have him call you back?

I will text him, and if he is home, he will call me back on his I-call through his computer, but I was mostly looking for when I'm out and about, and I need to call him, what was the best way....I guess I really need to learn some self control.....learning to wait to tell him something until the night when we talk....I was just looking for another option, but I think I will choose the calling card, seems like the best idea for what I want. Thanks for the suggestion!

get a Magic Jack and talk to him for free on a landline or cell phone. My husband bought one set up an Atlanta phone number on it and then sent it to his family in Morocco. They hooked it up to their computer and now they can call anytime to our house phone or to our cell phones. We can also call them and its just like calling across street or town, its a local number. All he needs is a computer with internet.

Deb

How is it that you can call him for free using a landline or cell phone with magic jack. Magic jack hooks up to your usb port in your computer, and your phone line then plugs into the other end of the magic jack. So you would have to use a landline. Also, you would have to send him a magic jack, and he would have to do the same. So you can only call landline to landline.

Vonage: Witht he Vonage world plan, you are paying for the service $24.99 plus an additional $0.24 - $0.35 per minute. See this link... http://www.vonage.co...minute_rates/#M

Areas of coverage in Morocco....
Morocco 212 $0.25 $0.25
Morocco (Cellular & Premium) 2126-7, 21210-1, 21260-79, 21292 $0.35 $0.35
Morocco - Casablanca 21222 $0.24 $0.24
Morocco - Rabat 21237 $0.24 $0.24

I have not been able to find a free long distance plan with 'any' company calling Morocco, and I have searched endlessly. However, what I do use is a calling card from www.CallingCards.com. You have several cards to choose from depending on where you are calling. I chose the 'African Safara" card to call the Morocco Casablanca region, (he lives in Beni-Mellal and also works in El Jadida) and I pay only .10 a minute and for $20.00 I get 211 minutes. The card is also rechargable, and you can see your account transactions for printing use when supplying them with requested proof.

I have checked with At&T, Verizon, Skype, Vonage, Magic Jack and whatever I could find and none of them had free international calls to Africa 'at all" and/or were expensive in their cost per minute. I would g o with callingcards.com.

Hope this helps! smile.gif

A tremendous help!! Thank you so much, I will look for that calling card you suggested.... kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

If a card does not work well (not connecting or you can't hear well), just call their CS number, they will correct it immediately and get you a new card or pin number. I think they rock! biggrin.gif good.gif

Are you going there soon to Morocco? If so, buy a magic jack and bring it with you in your luggage for him and all he has to do is plug it into his computer and call you for free. He can call anywhere in the US for free. wink.gif

He can already call me for free. If I send him this, and I call him, will it be free for me? Sorry if I misunderstand anything whistling.gif

I really don't get why there's an argument. We're all married to different men, sah? We all have different experiences, sah? I think the issue is with ppl making broad and sweeping generalizations. I think we've all been guilty of that at one time or another. We have to look past generalizing terminology and read into personal experiences disguised as sweeping statements. KH's wording in some posts may look broad and sweeping but I don't believe she meant it. Anyways, there's no reason to argue. We've all have tough times with cultural or religious issues at one time in our relationship...I mean re: Americans marrying MENA ppl. I can tell you what I've experienced but you may never experience it and vice versa. That being said, Muslims/Arabs, in general, have certain common denominators in their religious/cultural attitudes. Some more extreme than others. So let's share our experiences and maybe it will be eye opening for some or maybe we can share a common bond if we can relate to each other. Kumbaya people, kumbaya.

a better question might be: why are some members unable to share their stories and experiences without a heaping side of condescension for those whose experiences have just gotten underway? some people simply don't find that palatable, and choose to comment as such. it has nothing to do with the status or security of their relationship. just that they believe they just might actually know a little bit more about their husband than strangers do.

And an even BETTER question would be:

Why do some women always believe EVERY post written about any MENA Man (clearly I was NOT married to your husband) is "really" about THEIR MAN????

I for one have never written anything about YOUR husband... I'm 100% certain you know more about him... so why do you always think "some members" are claiming to know him better than you do?

I think I've mentioned to you before that you can just put your fingers in your ears and say as loud as you can "blah blah blah blah blah blah blah" and ignore EVERYTHING I post..

really?

QUOTE (KHPerfectMatch @ Aug 13 2009, 11:20 PM) *
For those of you married to Muslim men and planning to raise their children (who will of COURSE be MUSLIM) here in the USA, start buying parenting books for your husbands... because they have very LITTLE experience with any method of controlling the behavior of children other than endless threats (VERY LOUD ONES) and eventually when shouting fails, as it always does, they move on to CORPORAL PUNISHMENT.

Eventually the subject of moving back to MENA (to raise the kids) will undoubtably come up on a REGULAR basis...and of course the Male MENA breadwinner can't leave his job here in the USA, so be prepared for the suggestion that you take the kids and go live in MENA "for the sake of the children"...

I've been watching this scenario play out for 30 years.. and it hasn't improved much with this younger generation of MENA fathers. Perhaps the exception is those born and raised here, who marry someone with a similar cultural background born and raised here... (And those couples aren't on VJ..) They seem to manage raising kids here more effectively... or at least it looks that way from the outside.

that reads pretty inclusive to me. you cast a really huge net there.

Denial Ain't Just a River in Egypt... Go ahead, put your fingers in your ears, close your eyes, and say "lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala I can't HEAR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" That will solve EVERYTHING

according to you here, those of us who disagree are simply in denial.
myself, and anyone else who wants to can put our collective fingers in our ears and ignore what you post, as you say. but i object to the idea that doing so = i'm in denial. that's the condescension i'm talking about.

If the shib shib fits wear it, if it doesn't pass it by... I'll be over joyed to hear in 20 years that I was 100% wrong... and your sons are all Hafiz Quran and preparing to study at El Azhar...

I'm not going to go back to that thread and cut and paste the ENTIRE thread... but I stand by my statement that women who believe that what they observed on a few brief visits to their husband's country, where they saw (their husband's) Arab Muslim parents calmly, and patiently, raising Arab Muslim Children, in Arab Muslim Countries is a good predictor of how their husbands will be raising half Arab children in Non-Muslim homes, in a Non-Muslim country. Which is actually a country very biased AGAINST ISLAM, are simply in some sort of dream world.

There's no comparison what so ever! In MENA the "village" collectively raises the children, who are raised to believe that conforming (at least outwardly for the sake of appearances) and the honor of the family is Always more important that "self-fulfillment" ... here this very liberal and disconnected society (no village at ALL) encourages "individual freedom and self-expression" not conformity, no matter what their father wants or demands...

Thinking that only OTHER people have husbands that don't have (Western style) parenting skills to raise their American born kids while trying to raise them to be Muslim in this country, which is difficult even when BOTH parents are Muslim, is extremely naive and yes - shows that they are likely in DENIAL...

I can't count the number of despondent MENA fathers I've met at the weekend school who talk about giving up on trying to raise their Americanized children in this country, because they are afraid their children will call the police if they hit them... and that's the only thing they can think of to do when shouting and threatening has failed. They LONG to take their children (sullen defiant 15 year old boys or rebellious and mouthy 13 year old girls in particular) back HOME to raise...

And I know MORE THAN A FEW women who have taken their kids back to MENA to raise at the request of the father. Back home they are not individually responsible for raising their own children.. they have HUGE extended families and neighbors who are like family (and willing to smack someone else's kid if need be) that collectively instill the value of conformity on the youth. And father's play a very MINOR role in child rearing if ANY... (more like the "good old days" when your Mom would say "if you don't stop that I'm going to tell your Father when he gets home!!!) MENA Men don't grow up expecting to actually PARENT their children. They are given the role of PROVIDING for them... Women do the raising...

I know your husband is different... And I'm full of ranting33va.gif So I promise not to say anything else that isn't exactly what everyone wants to hear...

And I have yet to see a even ONE immigrant MENA father put his child in a "timeout" or talk calmly to them when they are misbehaving... however I have seen them smacked and whacked, shouted at and slapped. Or totally ignored and allowed to destroy everything in sight...

I appreciate your advice. I guess I am one of the lucky ladies, because my MENA fiance gets upset with me when I spank or yell at my son, he will say, baby, he's just a kid....then I get upset LOL because I explain to him that I can't just let my son do what he wants....after reading all this stuff, I am feeling very lucky to have such a special and understanding man!!
