You may want to check again as USCIS do not require original certificates only a photocopy with the I-130. Original Certificates are needed when you get to NVC.

I would not recommend people not to do it, what I would recommend is that you print out your barcode coversheet as soon as it shows paid. That way if the Known bug makes it show as NOT PAID when the email is generated you will still have the Coversheet to include with your packet and as we all know the NOT PAID bug fixes its self in a few days and no time is lost.

PLESE DO NOT PAY YOUR IV BILL BEFORE YOU GET AN EMAIL FROM NVC THAT IT AVAILABLE TO PAY THAT WILL DELAY YOUR CASE.


That happened to most of us and it does not delay your case. it will show up again as paid in a few days and as long as you have the barcode coversheet you are ok to send the DS-230 once you have it ready to go.

Yes you can do it that way BUT it all comes down to your intent on entry to the US. If you entered the US with the intent of avaoding having to apply for the correct visa and filing for AOS then it COULD be classed as visa fraud. If on the other hand you entered with no intent to remain and file for AOS but things have since changed like you got married or you no longer wish to be appart any longer then yes you can file for the I-130 and AOS together and remain legally in the US while it is being processed.

Many have done this and have had no issues getting a greencard.

Not in the case of CR1/IR1, in this case the coversheet checklist is a RFE. it is sent by NVC when something is missing. In the OP case they have paid the on line fee bill but as yet the NVC has not received the paperwork from them so they generate a coversheet checklist that is emailed to the agent.

Do not send it in the mail it could get lost. Take it to the interview, if they need to see it then it will already be there. Many people have to get a new birth certificate for one reason or another. The date it was issued is always going to be a current date and NVC know that.

My Parents had to get new birth certificate and new marriage certificates all were dated May 2009, they were accepted by NVC with no problems.

Definitely mail the hardcopy as well. They processed that before they got to my emails. Strange but when they've got a lot of emails it takes a while to get through them...


I never sent a hard copy in the mail, When I called and asked NVC they said that if you email it then you dont need to mail the hard copy as well.

If your Father filed a I-130 for you and that I-130 has now been approved you need to wait for a visa number to become available.

When did your father file the I-130? You say you came on a F1 so are you still under a F1 visa or are you out of status?

We need more information before we can give you acurate info.

If your Father filed the I-130 back in Nov 2002 then a visa number is now available if he only filed the I-130 in the last 12 months then you have another 7 years to wait.

That is to bad - but you know they get "points" for processing applications on time, so I don't think they would send it back for grins, so even though they received on the 21st, you sent it in to early. (I suppose they went by the date it was stamped by the USPS)

They must be real sticklers for the 90 day rule.



They take the date it was mailed not the date they received it. Same goes for when they increase the fees if the date it was mailed is before the date the fee goes up then you pay the old fee.

Most people mail it 2 -3 days after the 90 day window opens so that it wont get rejected for being to early.

Parents are immidiate relatives and do not have to wait for a visa number to become available. Once a USC files the I-130 for the parent it will take anything from 5 months to 1 year for the parent to get a visa to enter the USA.

The visa they will get is a IR-5 and the processing is the same as for a IR-1.

What was so important that you missed your original appointment AND the rescheduled appointment????

You may have to start from the begining again, and apply for a new K3 visa. You can not use the Visa Wavier Program to immigrate to the US. That would be Visa Fraud and will get you banned from entry to the USA.

Until you can explain how you see a difference while the blood test does not, must be explained or the issue is unresolved.

If you insist on talking the talk, then walk the walk, and state that both people, the smoker and the walker are both drug users and as such should both get a lifetime ban.

The smoker deliberately and willfully smoked the drug and the walker deliberately and willfully walked into the room.
Don't start in with the walker might not have known the smoker was there or was smoking because that puts us right back to the start again.

You have already excluded from consideration what their mindset may have been by insisting this be a black and white issue.

I state again and have always stated, this is NOT a black and white issue. If you insist this be a black and white issue then condemn both or accept the label of hypocrite.

I dont know where you are getting the black and white thing from.. if you know you are going for a medical and you choose to be in a room with people who are smoking drugs then you leave yourself open to having a possitive test result. If you choose to take/smoke drugs then you can expect to have a positive result and you will have to deal with the results.

It is not important to me whether you think I am a hypocrite, The TOS of visa journey are quite clear about encouraging people to be less than truthful.

Some are yes, and some are not due to the holidays. It all depends on when you sent it in. I sent mine the 1st week of the month so that I could get the NOA1 before the holidays came.
