Leaving in less than 8 hours for the airport. I am finally getting excited.
Got this e-mail today regarding my RFE that they got on Tuesday. Thanks for the information. Preliminary processing was complete, remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message (of course not time was listed.)
Oh well, I guess that is good news.
I hope to be surprised when I get home.

Safe travels. Upon your return you will get some good news *fingers cross*

Hello everyone,

Well, I have more bad news again :( Tony's uncle was killed last night in JA! :o The only details I know is that someone broke into his house and shot him twice while he was sleeping!! It is just devastating. He was only 41 or 42 years old. This is the 3rd uncle of his who has died in the past year - 2 on mom's side, 1 on dad's side. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Rhonda - how are things with your stepson?

Good morning everyone (F)

He is doing better. He spent 2 nights in the hospital, but he is back at home now. Thank you for asking and thanks to all of you for your support :luv:

Rhonda I am so sorry to hear this. I will keep you guys in my prayers. This is so............:ranting:

Good morning!

For the new filers, did you get the REF with the same questions that were on the new forms? I just got an e-mail from someone and they also waited for the new forms and got the same repeat questions. Why do you think that is?
Two more days and I am going to my home away from home. I am so excited. Will be catching the beginning of Sunsplash in Priory. Great lineup for the first night. I am still debating if I will delay my return home to stay for the entire party....

Update: I was "touched" today so... maybe my RFE is on the way. I'll keep you posted.

Hi!

I got a RFE by email and am still waiting for the notice to see what else I have to send in. Anyone have any idea what they could be asking for? Could I e-mail or call and ask? I am leaving Thursday morning for Jamaica for 9 days and I would like it provide whatever they are looking for before I leave to avoid anymore delays.
Is anyone's guy from the St. Anns Bay area? Bert is not home but this is just a chill vacation, me, my books and lots of Red Stripes.
From reading everyone's stories there seems to be a lot of drama from good ole Homeland Security.

Hi ladies

jonesie- how you doinggggggggggg?

Michele- I am happy for you that Tristan has been recuperating just fine. Where is his new place ( what are of Ja)

Kim and Duane welcome home/back.

Dee&dave-NO WORRY MON...........Jah will take care of everyting.

DArlene- You did file using the new I129f right.................b/c if that is the case then this RFE is not pertaining to IMBRA it would be a missing document or signiture or something else. You best believe it, once you start this process Homeland security becomes the pain of your existence.

2 questions today:

1. I rec the first NOA and at the bottom is says California service center, I sent it to Nebraska, I'm guessing this means I've been transferred to CA ?

2. I reg my receipt number on the uscis website but how can you tell if you've been "touched" ???

It's gonna be hot hot hot here all weekend BUT I'm going to the Northwest Reggae Festival.. woo hooo.. 3 days of great music! The only down side is camping in a tent... i'm not really a camping in the woods type of person but since it's gonna be so hot it will probably be nice to sleep outside!

Hope everyone has a great day.

Does anyone have the Yahoo link that I can look at wedding pic's / and or other pics of member??

Hi Mangogirl,

Dinner Bill

There were three men living together in London, a Trinidadian a Barbadian and a Jamaican who were all starving because they didn't have money to buy food. However, upon coming close to a posh restaurant they came up with a plan.

The Trinidadian went in first. After being seated he ordered a three-course meal with white wine. When he had finished the meal the waiter came by with the cheque.
"But I paid you" the Trinidadian shouted.
The waiter was very confused as he could not remember being paid, but as he did not want to cause any trouble...he let the Trinidadian leave.

Five minutes later the Barbadian walked into the restaurant and ordered a five-course meal with red wine. When he was finished eating, the waiter came by to collect the money for food.
"But I paid you" The Barbadian shouted.
This time the manager came and had to calm down the Barbadian, and as he did not want anything to upset the other customers he let the Barbadian go.

Ten minutes later the Jamaican walked in, sat down, lit a cigarette, and ordered the most expensive meal on the menu plus two Red Stripe beers. After he had finished, the waiter came to collect the money for the meal and before asking for it, the waiter said, "Sir... I have been having a sort of problem all day and I can't understand it. Other people like you came in earlier and ate and they said that they paid me but I don't remember getting any money from them, so........

"Before he could finish, the Jamaican chimed in loudly, "Hear mi nuh boss, that ah fi yu problem dat? jus gimme mi change!"

I love the first 3, was pretty undecided but I have to go with one.
Toya has some pretty noice size knokers
It is cool enough for the Jamaican climate, plus that is a nice dress for a wedding by the beach
and that would definately show some curves, plus it is easy acess for Fitz before the ceremony.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaPRESS RELEASES 2007
Just thought I would pass on this little info.....

U.S. State Department to Increase Visa Fees January 1

Effective January 1, 2008, the application fee for a U.S. nonimmigrant visa will increase from US$100 to US$131. The increase will allow the U.S. Department of State to recover increasing costs of security and other enhancements to the nonimmigrant visa application process. The last visa fee increase occurred in 2002.

Jamaican applicants who paid the prior $100 application fee before January 1 will be processed only if they are scheduled and appear for a visa interview before January 31. Applicants who paid the prior $100 application fee and appear for visa interviews after January 31, 2008, will have to pay the additional $31 before their interview.

The U.S. Department of State is required by law to recover the cost of processing nonimmigrant visas through the collection of the Machine-Readable Visa application fee. Because of new security-related costs, new information technology systems, and inflation, the current $100 fee does not cover the actual cost of processing a nonimmigrant visa. A cost-of-service study found that the $100 fee has not covered the entire cost of processing nonimmigrant visas since 2004 and that the State Department has been absorbing the additional cost since then.

As an example of increased costs, the Consular Section at the U.S. Embassy in Kingston now collects ten fingerprints from each applicant which are sent to the FBI for analysis. The State Department is now being charged by the FBI for fingerprint checks.

The fee for immigrant visas will also increase by US$20 to $355 beginning January 1.

QUOTE (Trelawny20853 @ Jan 31 2008, 02:25 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
The Haitian friends that I have told me that people in Haiti want change, but the government is not willing. Because her and her sisters were going to school and they were very outspoken about the conditions of the country, their families were easy targets. My friend received aslyum from the US, becuase she watched her mother, sisters, and both grandmothers get rapped repeatedly for several months (during Aristide's rein). The only reason they did not rape her was because her family hid her in the hiding space between the walls of the house. When they went to file charges or complaints not a damn thing was done. So, her family packed up what they could, ran to Dominican Republic and got on a homemade boat. She was the only one that survived in the boat. Two homeade boats left Dominican that day and the other boat only had 2 surviours. I can't begin to imagine. During a protest in DC she told the people in the crowd that she would rather die than return to Haiti. To this day, she says that Aristide still has power in Haiti.

I just read the article and I feel soooooo bbaadddddddddddd for this country.........wow I am speechless............
I don't remeber who said it , I think it was Trelawny but yes if the people in charge was to try and fix Haiti up get it out of the stage of despair it is in then it would flourish.

"The thing about Haiti, as in most places, is that if the people who pull the strings, namely Washington, Paris, and Montreal, who planned, orchestrated, and financed President Jean Bertrand Aristide’s kidnapping and coup d’etat in February 2004 yes.gif, really wanted the violence and instability to be eradicated, it would be. However, that is not the case and the most money is made when the country is kept in a perpetual state of chaos and the poor are kept poorer and without a voice and a means to mobilize and organize Aristide". good.gif

Jengles you're right though growing one's food and passing that knowlege down is priceless. "Give a man a fish he eats fo a day, teach him how to fiish he eats fos a lifetime......"

Back in 05 they had an electionheld first on Oct. 9 for prime minister Gerard Latortue, but voters in Port-au-Prince had not taken part due to security concerns amid the heightened violence. That is another issue there, how are people to live when while thugs, thieves and hooligans wrestle control from officials, who are probably just as corrupt.

If this island could somehow realize its vast potential as a Caribbean paradise, tourisim is not welcome in that country due to teh violence .................this just sadden me..we all take things for granted ( I try not to, I try to remeber where I am from, carrying the buckets of water on my head top or in jugs for miles so I could get some clean water to drink or even to bath--yes there were rivers ( which I love) but some time the water was so dirty or too dang cold for human no0pb.gif)...amidst all that though i can say my family did use the land to their advantage, we always had food.......even if it was not food, there was always some sort of fruit......I am tahnkful everyday for my up bringing.

HEY YARDIES!
BACK to New York FROM sunny JA, and the verdict is...
WE GOT THE VISA!! YAHOOOOOOOOO  :D :) :D

ROHAN WILL BE COMING HOME

The interview was a snap, our interview was a 9:15, Rohan got there about 6 am and I followed later around 7 am. We had to pay someone to hold our cell phones. The security guards are extremely pushy and try to overly exert there authority. They let us in about 7:15am and we had to wait while they deal with the other 7:15 appointments until about 9:00 am, they called us about 9:15 am the first time , in all we got out about 11:30 am. The interviewer questioned us together and all he asked was How did we meet, the name of our church, How many other times I been to Jamaica, and when and where the wedding will be. He joked a little about Rohan's broken arm, and said congratulations. It was great, we hugged then proceeded around the corner to AIRPAK. The cabs offer to take you for a rip off price, but dont take it, is less than a 5 minute walk around the block. We are so happy, Rohan will be coming up in the next couple weeks, after I finalize a place he will stay at before the wedding.

My time in JA was wonderful, me and Rohan spent most waking hours together and really grew in our love (L) . I spent Tuesday in St Thomas at the LYCEENS Beach with his step mom, brothers and sister, we had such a great time. Also a church convention was going on and we had a great time there. I am ecstatic!! :D
Only 2 1\2 months until k1 approved amazing.

Good morning all,
Hope everyone had a great weekend.
Aneways, I was checking for a better calling service to Jamaica and I came across vonage ( well I have know about it for a while. Aneways they said that vonage can be used in Jamaica with unlimited calling to the US for $40 a month, I requested more info so hopefully I will have a response soon, But for all of us who still have our better half in Jamaica doesn't that sound wonderful.

Mindy, some AOS cases are transferred to the California service center for processing. They are the ones usually approved without an interview. Pray for a transfer letter

That's what I thought......and I have been!!! Actually, I have a CSC dance  that I do every night before I go to sleep and every morning when I wake up  :jest:

 I wish you the best of luck.

Still waiting to hear from Eric :clock:

Ditto!!!

Good Afternoon All:
I too am awaiting Eric's return and good news.
Woogie: I realized that we are basically on the same time you are ahead of me a bit ( you already got the NAO1  ) Just a quick question ( I think ahead with eveything  I gotta or I think only of negative things) Are you going to go down for Trevor's interview when it is his turn??????
