I dont have the list yet. I called the GGD as i wrote above and they said that they would send it in the mail.
In an email I got a different answer so im a little confused myself too but I'll wait and see. Otherwise I'll call the RIVM-Zuid like they told me.

I only know that I needed the Hepatitus B in 2006 for my J1 student visa (at that time I was 19) so I have no idea about an age. Id say im still set for the Hepatitus B one;)
The only 'recent' vaccination I got besides that one is Tetanus in 2003 because I had a bad wound on my knee from falling on the street and they were afraid for infection.
I have no idea how long they are all valid but hopefully I dont need any vaccinations because Im not the biggest fan of it haha wacko.gif

I just was working on getting the information about my vaccinations..so ill share some information so far!

Liz (and of course others too star_smile.gif )

Last week I asked my doctor and he said I should look at my vaccination card from when I was a baby (im from 1986) but I know I got more shots. I went to the usa in 2006 and needed hepatitus B vaccination, they gave that one in 3 shots spread over a half year.

The doctor told me to call the GGD (www.ggd.nl) so I called and they said they would send me a paper with all the vaccinations I got since I was a baby. Im curiuos when that will come in the mail.
Also before I called I had already sent them an email asking how to get a paper with all my vaccinations. Little weird that they emailed me a different answer back as I got on the phone, because they said that they couldnt give me that information and I had to call RIVM-zuid afdeling RVP(Rijksvaccinatieprogramma). Phonenumber is 040-2329118. I think this is for the southern part of NL..but you could always ask for the place he's born/living now. I didn't call there, maybe the paper will come in the mail soon since thats what the women from the GGD told me on the phone.

Sorry for some Dutch words...but I think you can figure it out! Im sure Pat will know what it means!

Hope this helps..as soon as I know more i'll share the information!!

Oh yeah and something else, for the embassy in Amsterdam we dont have to get the police certificate ourself. Thats something they do at the consulate.

And the Birth Certificate I received last friday in the mail. I requested a Dutch and International one. Calling the local office in the place you are born. There is a form I had to fill in, pay 2 times 11.10 euros and I was set, they would send it. Make sure they send the 'geboorteakte' and not 'uitreksel van het geboorte register'.

Hey hey...yup we're doing ok!! good.gif

I didnt hear from Nikki.

Im also curious of what we can prepare for the next step now, even tho we didnt receive NOA2...Marieke is our help lol. The only one who went through most of the process already.
Marieke did you get ur AP already? I think i saw in your timeline that you filed for that right? When can you file for that? Is it possible to do that as soon as i enter the US on my K1 visa or do i have to wait until we are married? My grandma isnt doing so good and is in a nursing home, but if anything happens at home i want to be able to come back. But i know you can only enter the US one time with a K1 visa....

Its so nice we all stay in touch here!

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI-130 question
Hey!!

I see you found out already how to open a topic haha.

About ur first question...its just as pushbrk says that the right side of that paper is for you and the left side is for daniel to fill in. So just fill in ur current employer in NL. You acutally arent supposed to be in the USA now right..cuz u cant have an emloyer in the usa yet because u just start the petition:)

Its always good to add proof. If u have them add pictures, always good. I see in the guide it says 'evidence of bonafida marriage' But teh options 1 till 4 u cant really do as i read...so id go for 5 or 6.
5. Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by third parties havingpersonal knowledge of the bona fides of the maritalrelationship (Each affidavit must contain the full nameand address, date and place of birth of the person makingthe affidavit, his or her relationship to the petitioner ofbeneficiary, if any, and complete information and detailsexplaining how the person acquired his or herknowledge of your marriage); or
6. Any other relevant documentation to establish that thereis an ongoing marital union.

About the question that it didnt get saved...or u cant change..idk. Should be possible to add things i think.

Good luck with filling in the paper and getting ur proof together!!

Hopefully you can file soon!

Is there anyway you can call the office in Houston and ask if you can do a walk-in?

If things were that simple with the USCIS, it would make all our lifes a lot more easy. No, they won't tell you if they do walk-ins, but there have been 2 people on this forum who recently did it in the same office and they were fine and never were asked why they came early and not at their appointed date.

You can find your office on the USCIS-site:
https://egov.uscis.g...office_type=ASC

At the bottom you can enter your zipcode and it shows you the closes by ASC-office where they do the fingerprinting.

Most places will understand if you explain your situation to them and will just ask for you to update them on your case status as well as your social security number when you finally get one.

You better just call the school you like to attend and the DVM office. I ran in a lot of problems to get enrolled and to get my drivers licence. But I'm sure if you find someone who is understanding they will make it work. I have seen other posts of people who got enrolled before they got all their paperwork done. I just are in the wrong town with million of international students who try to get enrolled or a drivers liscence. By the way, you know that you are allowed to drive on a foreign liscence for 6 months.... (LOL, I actually drove here on my Dutch liscence for 14 months without any problems)

Good to see some more people considering to move to Texas, welcome!

Hi innl,

What happens at the medical exam is not all that exciting or anything to worry about. They look at your vaccination record and will give you the shorts they think you still need. They weight you, and measure your lenght. They measure your bloodpressure and go over a checklist from the embassy with questions like "have you ever been treated for mental disorder". Like I said, nothing to worry about and in my opinion not even a medical exam. Even if something comes up it is not a problem. I have as long as I remember a sky high bloodpressure (runs in the family). The physician measured it three times to come to the conclusion that it still was high (I guess he thought I was nervous and it would go down or something). He only advised me to go to my family physician and keep an eye on it. He might have noted it on the embassy papers but I never heard anything back from it.

Hopefully someone else will answer your other question, can't remeber that since it's already 1,5 years ago.

Letty

I have a couple of questions

1. What happens exactly in NL during medical examinaiton? Do they take blood and urine samples? Just curious.
2. I have read at different places about DS-230 Part II document. The Consulate as not asked me for this one nor did i recieve a copy of the document from them. May i know if you guys submitted this document?

I don't know who to call, eventually you will get package 4 from the NVC with the medical check documents. It's upto the doctor which once to give (it's a very long list, but not all neccessary when you are living in the Netherlands). I can look on my vaccination passport when I get home which short they have me......or maybe if you call the doctors office they might tell you.

Hi Rianne,

You should look into the post they made under NVC, shortcuts and knowing your case # (http://www.visajourn...p?showtopic=117). Maybe you already did, but I found it very helpful to know what they were going to ask.

I wasn't really into risking the shortcuts besides the first one. I emailed them with the address where I wanted my mail to be send to (my husband, so it wouldn't take forever to receive overseas mail) and was already working on the second form when I finally received the original address form. I also downloaded the forms they request to fill out and went ahead to fill them out and mailed them to my husband (the once I could, so not when they had a bar code on them). He waited for the next package from the NVC, made sure he had all the documents I previously mailed to him, and would forward it to the NVC. This way we saved us the mailing time between Europe and the US.

Since I'm curious and completely bored out of my mind here at work, I went ahead to see how quick the NVC is right now. If everything goes smooth you will be looking at about 3 to 4 months processing time till your interview. Remember, things can easily take longer, we got an RFE because they changed something after we already had submitted the documents!!

Letty

Hoi Letty,
I did try to send you a message but couldn't do that so i hope you read the topic this way ;-)
My husband did scan the approval letter and send it by email to me.
If I understand it correct... NVC contact me?
Hope you remember! LOL! And the whole time I think my husband get post or what ever from NVC after they receive our case from USCIS and that can take a while!
Greets Ri

What I remember is that after almost 2 weeks I finally managed to obtain my NVC case number. It takes a little while for them to assign you one. Not sure how long it will be now, but like I said it used to be around 14 days.
I copied the instructions which you can find under the nvc-forum subject:

NVC Automated Voice Response Service
So your I-130 petition has been approved and forwarded to NVC
Now you are wanting to know if it has been received and a case number assigned
You can use your CIS (NOA) receipt number from your approval to find out.
On calling the NVC automated voice response number (603) 334-0700 you will.... press 1 for English press 2 for Spanish
press 1 for information about your immigrant visa
It will then ask you if you know your CIS receipt number.....press 1
(Once you have a case number you can use this.....press 2)
You then follow the instructions to key in your number.
If will then tell you if NVC has received the petition, and assigned a number.

Hopefully things will go smooth there. This part of the process gave me more hope, because they request information every few weeks so you have the feeling they are doing something instead of the first part (I-130 approval), which you don't know what is going on or even if they are doing something at all.

Just a question.
Our package is going from CSC to NVC, there we need to fill out more forms and pay more etc.
I am going to the USA August 4 and be back beginning of September. My husband planned a "late" honeymoon! :-)

Now i am just a little worried.... what if everything goes well at NVC and it come to NL end of July... what if they schedule an interview for like August... can i change that day???
Really hope i can finish everything in September/October, like the medical and the interview. and start packing etc.
BECAUSE if everything is before August 4... and get a visa... it will take a while before you get your passport etc. back... so I don't dear to take that chance because really want to go to my husband like we planned.

Congratulations! It's a good feeling to be over with that part isn't it?

Well, I don't want to dissapoint you, but it's quit unlikely you will have an interview within a few months. Unless the NVC has woke up and actually started doing something....... My I-130 got approved in November and had to wait 6 months till I finally had my interview in May. I agree it has been a while ago, but I doubt much have changed in regards to their processing time. If you like to know how long it takes look at people with similar timelines who are ahead if you int the process!

Good luck and don't forget to be patient! I already gave my notice at work to be with my hubby for Christmas, but glad they wanted to keep be because I just made it 2 days before our anniversary half a year later!

I kind a think the X-ray need to be done before you go to the doctor? I think they will look at that?
Well i thought it is in the same area, so its understandable that it will be at the same day.
[/quote]

It sounds weird, but the doctor who does your medical doesn't look at the X-rays. Everything is forwarded to the embassy, there they will look at it. At the end of your interview you will get the big envelop back with the X-ray and you have to take it to the POE (in my case Houston, but they never looked or asked about it).

I called them to make an appointment and mentioned right away that it was for the medical for a visa application. They asked me when I had my medical and scheduled me 2 hours later for the x-rays. I was way to early for the x-rays but they never really asked for my appointment time and just went ahead to take them.

Just call the x-ray place and explain the situation, surely they will tell you if they work on a walk-in or appointment basis.

SHEESH! How busy IS the consulate in Amsterdam anyway? The State Dept tells me our petition is most likely being held up at the NVC because the consulate in Amsterdam is so overloaded that they had to tell the NVC to stop sending over files until they are caught up! I can't imagine they are that overloaded!

-Blu-( mad.gif

OMG..really???? I didn't know that they did that!! Maybe you'll be luckier this way though and it won't take so long to leave NVC.

She said sometimes they hold them for 3 months or so...and then the consulate will ask for them again. I hate this so much. We were planning on him being here by the Holidays...now...who knows.

-Blu-( huh.gif )

Don't want to give you any false hope, but do not always believe everything they tell you. It has been a while when I had my interview in Amsterdam (May 2008). When our I-130 got approved by the NVC we called them a few times to get information about the interview and got the same story. Finally in April they told me that Amsterdam was full in May so I probably would get an interview date in June. My husband called the same day and they told him that my interview was scheduled for May...... two complete different stories on the same day, but I'm glad that the operator my husband talked to was right!

Don't give up, it's worth the wait!
