There u go Peet!! I only had to get my DTP one..cuz that has to be renewed every 10 years or so.

Too bad u still didn't hear anything! Ur timeline says u should hear something very soon;) Lets hope so!! How many days now since NOA1? I guess we were very lucky to get approved within 4 months....
But ur approval will be here soon!! Keep ur hopes up!

I'm really counting down here..less than two weeks!! Friday we got scared so badly because 3 of Johns gparents were all of sudden in hospital...but so far we know now going all a little better...

Rianne I hope u are getting used a little again to NL life without Daniel, i hope time goes fast for u! Why cant u go back to usa faster as 3 months? u have to be away for 90 days too?

Have a good week all! good.gif

Hello all!!

Sorry sorry i haven't been on here in a while cuz i've been really busy!! blink.gif
I'm leaving NL on May 22!!! The wedding is July 31 and there's like 35 family members who are coming from NL to our wedding! So was alot of organizing, planning etc for the tickets and hotelrooms!

I picked a moving company named World Freight Logistics in rotterdam. They bring the container to my house and i have 2 hrs to fill it myself...then it gets shipped etc and brought to the final address and we have to unload it ourself again in 2 hrs. That was the cheapest option..but means i have a whole 20 ft container to fill;) 2200 euros...yeah its a bit but its worth it in my case;) good.gif

Anybody who has questions when im not on here..just email me jpladdet@yahoo.com. Cuz i might be busy in the coming weeks! But ill try to answer questions as soon as i can!

I just used my online banking. I have Rabobank...idk what Pat has..but yeah u just have to pay online the money to the consulate. Didnt need my credit card for that..so he should be fine;) But isnt it easy to have a credit card when u go to the usa? Maybe he has to get one when he comes or not?

No date set yet for when i fly but itll be 3rd or 4th week of may...depending on when the wedding will be...most likely itll be August 1!!
At this place: Ramsey Golf and Country Club

The 107 something euros are for the Immigrant Visa Unit from the Consulate....i guess some fee to make the visa. Itll tell u in the letter that Pat will get in packet 4 when he gets his interview date. U cant miss it cuz its at the top in bold red letters haha! Pay right when u get the letter cuz u have to bring ur bankstatement that shows ur payment. I didnt receive the bank paper yet...and im glad at the time i paid i made a print screen...so i had proof.

Hey all....here comes the whole story about yesterday;) lazulineiris asked me some questions and i wrote them this story in an email...so thought why not just copy it on the dutch/american topic so all ppl know!
There i go....

I thought it would be all hard etc and was very good prepared with all copies from everything and showed up there with my big binder full of paperwork whistling.gif
I came in after some waiting by the gates, went through security, then stood in line for half hr..then was my turn and a very friendly person asked for my passport, birth certificate, the I134 with supporting documents, proof i paid the 107 euros, and he needed my J1 visa waiver cuz i've had that visa in 2006 and it has some requirements. Then he gave me back the Xray and the vaccination record and told me that i have to have my original brith certificate in my hand luggage during my travel to the usa. He took fingerprints from both my hands and told me to sit down and wait for the interview.
I sat for another idk half hr 45 min maybe and i was called to booth 6 (first was 5)...the guy behind the glass said i smelled like flowers lol and said he got confused from the smell wacko.gif ...and made some jokes, was really friendly. I thought..now itll start...well he asked 'where did u meet ur fiance, whats his job, do u have any wedding plans' that were his questions and he put his fingers in the air and said a sentence he prob says a million times a day star_smile.gif that i could promise i filled it in all tru...so i said i did and he made me sign some papers.
Then all of a sudden (i expected more questions) he said "allright, ill give you the visa good.gif , it will be send to you in a couple days" so i looked at him and said "thank you" kicking.gif ...that was it. said good bye and good luck in the usa.
Jeanine all happy...walking outside the buiilding with my big binder;) kicking.gif mostly still filled cuz they didnt even ask proof of ongoing relationship!! (he told me tho that i possible had to show that at the port of entry. I walked outside and as i was almost by the gate, the window opened and i was called back mad.gif ....i was like oh no! now what?? so again had to go trough the security and i came back by the window from booth 5 that called me through the window and he said 'they just forgot to verify ur vingerprint' and guess what...i had to wait another 20 minutes before the guy acme back and he said 'it was all cuz the flower smell when u walked up that i forgot to verify the finger print, if we dont do that we cant give the visa' so i was like 'glad its only this..thought u called me back to tell me the visa wasnt approved smile.gif ' lol...he had to laugh and took the fingerprint and i was done!!

Thats all! Thought ill write it out good..so u all know how it goes during that day. I met another VJ member and it was nice to talk with her.

Make sure that u have document A (geboorte akte) and not 'uitreksel van het geboorteregister' cuz thast wrong. U need an international birth certificate. And u'll most likely need that at the poe.

Hope this helps and makes u feel all ready for the interview! So nothing about the I129 they asked....

The consulate will give you a map of the area, the Xray place isnt too far from the doctor, you can ask the doctors assistant that time how you have to go...(then she says...look at ur map haha)
I dont like it either when they take blood..the worst part is when i try to concentrate and they start the stupid questions to distract my nerves like where do u work, what work are you doing, where are u going in the usa, why are u going..etc then im almost like..stop asking me stuff..i try to concentrate on what u're doing, dont distract me! lol wacko.gif

There i am with the story from yesterday. kicking.gif

Left around 8 in the morning w/ my parents, cuz they wanted to come with me:) that was nice.
Arrived in amsterdam at like 11, but because it was busy driving there i was a little late at the doctor, came there around 11:10 and had my appointment at 11. It was an old looking doctors office....
The lady at the reception ( i think its doctor Schulte his wife, but not 100% sure) opened the sealed envelope that i got from consulate/department of state. She asked for my passport and wrote the info on the papers, asked me to sign a couple and then asked for my vaccination record. She said she would fill in the papers while i was there.
Then i had to go into a room where they would take blood, and there were 2 ppl. The old doctor M. Schulte who said this is my son J. Schulte and he is going to take over from me. The younger doctor took the blood test (after i told him i wasnt a hero with this at all;) unsure.gif he said i have to say myself, im pretty good at taking blood..so ok..he was). then when that was done he told me to go into the waiting room and i waited there like 20 min whistling.gif cuz more ppl were before me.
After a while the women brought back my vaccination record she said she was done with it.
Then i got called in again by that doctor and he did the check, weighted me, measured me, listened to my lungs, heartbeat and stomach. Knocked on my stomach, felt if my liver was in good spot. I had to do an eye check, he looked with a light in my eyes and then he said now we're goign to go over a checklist with questions. Stuff like did u have an operation, do u smoke, do u use medicine, ever though about suicide, are u pregnant etc etc. All the answers were no and he said..there u go. Oh yeah..also checked my blood pressure and he said its perfect;)
Then i was done at the doctor and they told me to go to medisch centrum jan van gooyen for my X-ray. I came at the reception and said i come for the chest Xray from the consulate, so the women said...go back outside the buidling and go to that building with the blue sign on the outside...wasnt really a building, was more a bit 'shed' wacko.gif . There were 2 doors;) and sign with 'ring for help' so i did..and a women came out one door and said...yes...so told her why i came and she took my paper ( doctor schulte gave me that...it also came out sealed envelope) and said im back with u later. Waited a while and then had to come in and she took the Xray..said it would b forwarded to doctor Schulte and he would bring all the results to the consulate.
When i dont hear anything within a week that means it was all ok and i passed the medical...so lets hope i dont hear anything this time haha!

Its def nothing 2 worry for!! good.gif

Yeah its a bit stressful but yeah, it is how it is;) we are just trying to figure out rates and what places are available for July/August. Then we'll have to pick a date cuz family of me is coming over for the wedding and they'll have to book flights, take off time from work etc. But we want to be a little more sure first w/ the visa. So waiting prob for interview date and see what reactions we get from reception places...then kinda 'pick' and go there as soon as i get in the usa to decide. Because i first want to see the place in real too;) not nice if John has to go look alone.
How did you guys pick the place Liz? Looks nice too! U went with Pat to look when he was there just couple weeks ago?

Jeanine,

Did you decide what your going to do about the immunizations? Will you have to get them all over again?

The doctors assitant said she'd try to get them. And if they were really lost she would set up a list with the person that gave them to my when i was a baby, and shed add the recent ones, sign and stamp it..so id have my list;) friendly huh?! She would call when it was ready..didnt hear anything yet. But yeah i dont have the medical yet...hopefully soon!

Yup if u go to our profile..then go to My Photos and u see the page 1 and 2 from the letter. They added hardcopies of those requested DS156 (2x) DS157 and DS230 part one, where they printed my case number on. I already filled in digital ones and since i wasnt sure if they wanted those hardcopies back or digital ones..decided to send both and add a letter explaining this.
Right now waiting to get John's I134 and then sending back the forms and also already the bottom part of checklist saying ihave all the above documents;)

Hope this helps for you guys..i love to know whats next too..so this is a good help to see what letter u will get! I'll keep u all updated on the next steps!

Ahh bad news about the vaccination papers. Since I still had nothing in the mail from GGD, I decided to call the rijksvaccinatiedienst. The simple lady on the phone kept saying she didnt get any information about me on the screen no matter what she tried. So my information most likely is lost there:(

Good thing my mom wrote most (hopefully all) the stuff in a little book that you get when u're a baby...the last years are registered at my doctor so those wont be a problem. I guess we'll ask my doctor to write a letter with all those vaccinations and put a stamp on there..pretty sure he will. But im pissed of that those organizations just lose the information about your vaccinations! and its not that im like really old..i need information from 1986...so im sure should be still around:(

But o well..we're approved and thats already a big step!

Jeanine, have you found a list of all the vaccinations needed?
I have done the research, but there is no way for me to find records, since they just didn't keep them at that time.
The moms were supposed to do that. After 44 years I can't blame my Mom for not having that little piece of paper, can I?

I know there is a list somewhere but I can't find it back, if I do remember correctly, I wouldn't need the hepatitus B, since I am over a certain age.
But I would like to have a good list so I know for sure what to get and what not.

Maybe this site also helps? I have no clue if I have all those tho...but last time I passed and only needed the Hepatitus B one. Doesn't say anything about age, but maybe contact the consulate in Amsterdam? I've asked a couple things by email and they responded the same day.

I dont have the list yet. I called the GGD as i wrote above and they said that they would send it in the mail.
In an email I got a different answer so im a little confused myself too but I'll wait and see. Otherwise I'll call the RIVM-Zuid like they told me.

I only know that I needed the Hepatitus B in 2006 for my J1 student visa (at that time I was 19) so I have no idea about an age. Id say im still set for the Hepatitus B one;)
The only 'recent' vaccination I got besides that one is Tetanus in 2003 because I had a bad wound on my knee from falling on the street and they were afraid for infection.
I have no idea how long they are all valid but hopefully I dont need any vaccinations because Im not the biggest fan of it haha wacko.gif
