very nice!! ok here's my question so i want to introduce myself on the site, but do i just make a new topic or is there somewhere where we all introduce ourselves?

Is this not the same group of women that threw their toys out of the pram last week and formed their own invite only group due to hateful comments? Apparently, some are more addicted to creating drama than they care to admit.

In retrospect, I wonder how the same initial suggestion would have been greeted had it been posted by Meauxna, MDYoung, Aussiewench or Yodrak, since they have been known to advise of the same?

please don't start the same topic twice ... you're likely to receive a more concise answer in one thread.

why even mention an invite only group? what's that have to do with this thread? it's post like this that also adds fuel to the drama.

some of you ladies in the sacred 'ME/NA Off Limits to Everyone Else' Forum really need to get your meds reevaluated!

i've given this very answer numerous times as it is the proper answer. i browse VJ using the active topics link ... therefore, i don't really care what forum the thread is in.

loosen up, lose the chip on the shoulder and try to be a bit more positive once in a while!!

I am not letting anything fester or spewing negativity. I wanted to know why it mattered to you. I think your statement about the ladies needing their medications reevaluted was negative. What medications are you talking about? Are you suggesting some people here take medications and if so what for exactly? I find that statement unsettling.

this is what i called ragged on. Why even tell him not to post twice.Who are you to tell anyone what to do even if you said please. If people want to post the same information in a different forum because they think they can receive better answers what does that have to do with how you feel?

i wouldn't apologize jean. If KML wanted to post his topic in here so be it. He also stated why he posted twice. I didn't see the need for him to explain also. As he said it's nobody's business if he posted twice. I don't see anything in terms of service where it says anything about posting twice. But obviously it bothered someone who came to post that in this thread. I don't mind that people "outsiders" come in here to offer advice be it good or bad. But it did bug me when someone came in to rag on how he posted twice now that's a bunch of BS.

When I wanted to know the time frame that it will take my husband to get his ssn and green card the place i posted was here in the ME/NA forum. I don't see anything wrong with KML posting this twice considering most of the people that post in the ME/NA forum have husbands who are from Morocco, and who have been there and done that. Most of the people that did answer his questions where from Morocco anyways .

Meriem that picture cracks me up  So are we being policed now? Has the Middle East/North African Forum become a Police Forum now ???

Congrats Angel....we just got a second car too...its so nice because I hate driving my minivan other than to work and home, so now we cruise in a Lexus!

On another note, its touching almost 100F in my town with the heat index, and i think i will spend the afternoon in the pool with the kids...Sofyan gets off at 7pm and there isnt a whole lot to do :(

So, mine and Sofyans one year wedding anniversary is next wednesday, the 19th, and he works that WHOLE day, so i sercretly ordered this HUGE balloon creation and it is getting delivered to his job, (i hope he isnt too embarassed) and we are celebrating the day after because we are both off...im so excited, They say the first one is the hardest to get thru, but man, if that was what people would consider hard, i guess the next 75+ will be a breeze....Ahh im so lucky

 I didn't consider my first year of marriage difficult either considering we weren't together for most of it. we are into our second year and so far so good. I hear ya about that heat I was outside already a few times and dang it was hot. I think I'll go rent some movies and watch them all day cuz my albi doesn't get off work until 10pm :( boo hoo. Well i could always go visit him at work and pretend I am shopping
Hope everyone has a good weekend!
btw Happy Anniversary Kelly and Sofyan

LB Mabrook on your wedding. I am sure you made a very beautiful bride.

I'll have to tell you my baby story we been trying but not really. So we decided to take care of my cousin's little girl who is 1 year's old for a week. OMG it was difficult!!!!!!!! After that I know now is not the time to have a baby. I am glad I got a trial run. I think I spent most of my time chasing after her because she would get into to everything. She also is a great vaccum cleaner  She would find the smallest little thing like a piece of lint and stick it in her mouth. We had a plant on the floor and she would go dig in it and try to put the soil in her mouth. I do know for a fact my husband would be a great father considering he did most of the work. He would get up and take me to work at 5:15am and then go home and try to put her back to sleep so he can finish sleeping. When they both woke up later he would feed her and give her a bath and take her to day care and go to work. It was exhausting!! We made it through the week though!
I am sure when we have our own it will be different but right now it's just not the right time. I wish you lots of luck I am sure you and your husband will make awesome parents!

Mary hope your husband gets his license soon. Sheesh to wait at the DMV all day. yikes!

Kelly I am really sorry what has happen to you. It could have happen to anyone of us. I admire your courage for going to the site and sticking up for yourself and not backing down. I know what you went through to be with Sofyan and I know how much you two love each other. Don't let anyone ever make you think different. Of all the people the sharmoota had to pick on she pick the most innocent one who never did anything mean to anyone else on this board.

Sorry girl just had to throw my support out there for you I could no longer just sit here quietly any longer.

My husband finally got the opportunity to meet all my family these past 2 days. We went to another state where I grew up for a furneral and most of my family was there except for a few cousins. He really liked it and told me if he ever misses Jordan to take him there for a day to visit. He was surprised to see how similar our cultures where regarding family and our habits and how they just accepted him. He was also very honored that he was picked to be a pallbearer for my aunt. I can't complain about anything. We are doing very well. Hope everyone else is doing well also!!

I didn't even notice that my connecting flight was cutting it close also so i was pretty worried, but made it. I have a question? I have read that we need to keep records to prove a relationship, telphone records. instant messages and emails. Do I print out everysingel email? All of instant message conversations? I started printing out instant messages from MSN which I use at work and from just May 25 to June 5th in instant messges I printed 53 pages. When I was going to print out emials it would of been 221 pages of just what I sent him so far and that was just from Yahoo. I printed the ones I sent from work. Can i just copy the pages that show the date, time, subject, and lenght? Any help on this matter is greatly appreciated.

Angie

it's ok to keep a few things before you marry. Just to show you been in contact with each other. But what Amman what to see is that you still have ongoing communication after you are married. That's where you start gathering all your evidence. Say for example phone records, emails like 1 for each month or chats every months say like one from each week or just a couple just to show you are in contact with each other. Be sure to take a lot of pictures when you are in Jordan. Copy your passport pages to show entry and exit into Jordan each time you go. Postal letters are good to show too from both of you. Umm what else..?? I can't think right now cuz i'm making dinner. :)

Angel

Maybe I am taking the above out of context and I am by no means an expert in Amman, but I should think the evidence prior to engagment or marriage is also very important. Not saying the above is stating its not, however the way its reads to me is that the evidence after is important.

I separated my evidence into 2 piles. Evidence of meeting and establishing a relationship, and evidence of ongoing relationship. I don't think there is a need for EVERY piece of email or IM, etc. But again, evidence of an existing relationship PRIOR to an engagement or marriage is *also* very important.

Good luck to you!

not disputing what you say about prior information, but the consul specifically told my husband she wanted evidence of communication after our marriage. so we took back over a 1000 pages of documents  which they gave back to him after they approved him for his visa. so to be safe rather than sorry have him take all the information, but keep some aside just in case. Maybe Amal or Dawn or Jackie can add when they come on! and how they put together their information.

woo hoo angie :)

I can remember my first trip to Jordan. Flew out of Denver to Frankfurt to Amman. I was so scared of getting lost in the airports that flying over the united states and over the atlantic ocean and over europe and on to the middle east didn't scare me. It didn't even register until i came home that I actually flew in the air that long then I was like holy sh*t I just flew across the world. :) I remember laying in my room awake because of the time difference when suddenly I heard call to prayer. I will never forget that memory.
Hope you have a nice trip if you need any suggestions on what to bring or where to go. Ask us Jordan Gals!

i wish it could be that easy! i guess i'll just have to get in the bidding war. I don't know how houses are in Algeria but in Jordan every house i went in had two living rooms one was formal for guests and one for family. They had formal dining room and a kitchen where the family just ate. The house i want has a living room and a family room downstairs with a bathroom and bedroom. The kitchen was kind of small but i can live with that since i'm not much of a cook. Upstairs 2 bedrooms and another bathroom and a small dining room. Inshallah if i get it the first thing going up is a privacy fence around the back yard. :)

I am in a bit of a dilemma now. I think I will be in a bidding war with another person over this house we want. Also another house just came one the market that look awesome but is on hold until May 31. Then today she shows us another house and it was an older victorian style house it was really cool, but you would have to put a lot of money into it.. So I am not sure what to do. Do I still bid the house i have until the day after memorial to do that or hold off and see the other house? Angie I might have to take you up on your offer :)

Ok girls I found a house and will put an offer in tomorrow. 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms <-- thank god! It has a lot of potential to remodel the basement for another bedroom or a family room downstairs. Sorry to hear about your Grandpa Kelly. My condolences.

Well today we were out house hunting again and later will go to some open houses and look. Much better this way because everytime a house comes on the market my realtor calls when we are both working or when only one can go look. Me and my husband both told her already we want to look at houses to buy together. I guess she doesn't get it. I might have to get another realtor.

Today we went out looking for lawn mowers..ugh it's like looking for car to buy. Finally we choose one. My SO is now outside mowing the lawn for the first time in his life. He also assembled the lawn mower too :) He made friends with this neighbor guy who is in his 60's. Him and his wife were going by and he seen my SO have the setting on the lawn mower too low so he honked his horn and pulled over and gave him some advice. How cute. I never realized how friendly my husband, and makes friends with anyone. In a few months he will probably get promoted to a manager. That's what they told him because of his experience in sales and being a store manager in Jordan. So we are both happy about that.

I better get ready to go to the open houses and see what we like. I found a house I liked today but it's kind of out of my range but the location is just nice. It's a block away from a park and in a really nice neighborhood still wanna look at it though.

Enshallah you will get some good news soon roula.

OK EVERYONE...some semi-good news for today! We went to hubbies job interview for the cable company and the guy said.."you are way way too qualified for this job..maybe you can get on at the ST. Louis center in the more skilled troubleshooting department". We told him that right now we don't have the funds to uproot and move to another town so we have to do what we can with what is available. He also told them..he may have more qualifications but he still needs to start at the beginning to learn the American ways of doing these things. The manager said he wants to hire him but he thinks we should discuss the pay and let him know what we want per hour. He said he felt bad that he couldn't pay what hubbie deserved. ....I REALLY hope he gets hired there..its respectable and in his line of work.... keep prayin !!!

(F) amal (F)

Inshallah he will get the job. God will provide. You should discuss what you think would be a fair rate with your husband considering the difference in Pay here and in the Middle east.
